        1st Race:     163. The Azhar Plate-(About) 1800 Metres. Horses
         5 Runners    rated 20 to 50.
        
                       Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of LOCAL  WARRIOR, 
                  reported that his mount was hanging `in' after entering 
                  the  straight.  Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar  was  ad-
                  vised  to  get it checked by  his  Veterinarian  before 
                  accepting with it gain. 
        
                       RUNNING  MAN (J.E. Pereira) ran detached from  the 
                  field.  Trainer Mr. M.P. Mahaesh was advised to  ensure 
                  better performance of his charge in future. 
        
                       SUPER POWER (D. Gnaneshwar) collapsed and died  in 
                  the paddock after the race due to cardiac arrest. 
        
                       Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis  from  the 
                  winner b c LOCAL WARRIOR. 
        
        2nd Race:     164. The Squanderer Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres.
         8 Runners    Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only Horses who
                      (have run at least thrice but not placed second, 
                      third or fourth even once ineligible) (Terms).
        
                       ACT  SMART (Gaurav Sapara) ran detached  from  the 
                  field.  Trainer  Mr. G. Sandhu was  advised  to  ensure 
                  better performance of his charge in future. 
        
                       PLUM PUDDING (J.E. Pereira) sustained a cut injury 
                  on right fore cannon. 
        
                       Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of SUMMER ROSE, was 
                  severely  reprimanded  for dropping  his  hands  before 
                  passing the winning post. 
        
        3rd Race:     165. The Lt.Col.Gaunt Memorial Cup - (About) 1600
         8 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70, 4 and 5 years old.
        
                       FORZA  (Vincent Colgan) sustained cut injuries  on 
                  left hock. 
        
                       SOUTHERNER  (S.  John)  burst  its  blood  vessels 
                  during  the  race.  Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala  was  in-
                  formed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's 
                  Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. 
        
                       AUCHINLECH (Suraj Narredu) sustained a cut  injury 
                  on upper lip (Muzzle).
        
                       AUCHINLECH (Suraj Narredu) burst its blood vessels 
                  during  the  race.  Trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal  was  in-
                  formed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's 
                  Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. 

                       Trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal and Jockey Suraj Narredu 
                  were  questioned  regarding the running and  riding  of 
                  AUCHINLECH.  The trainer stated that  his  instructions 
                  were  to keep his charge in 2nd or 3rd position and  if 
                  anybody went to the front then go to the front and ride 
                  out in straight. When he questioned after the race  the 
                  rider  informed  him that he hit the front  within  100 
                  Metres  of  the start whereafter his mount  became  too 
                  keen  and he had difficulty in settling his  mount  and 
                  that  after rounding the final bend it packed  up.   He 
                  added  that under the circumstances he could  not  find 
                  fault  with the rider. The rider stated that his  mount 
                  was  too keen and he had difficulty in settling it  and 
                  rounding  the final bend it gradually packed up.  While 
                  noting  their explanations the horse was impounded  for 
                  veterinary  examination. At about 4.15 p.m. the  Club's 
                  Veterinary  Officer reported that the horse  had  burst 
                  its  blood  vessels.   Trainer Mr.  J.S.  Dhariwal  was 
                  informed  that  he must produce a  Fitness  Certificate 
                  from  the  Club's Veterinary Officer  before  accepting 
                  with it again. 
        
                       Surprise  Sample was taken for analysis from  b  g 
                  AUCHINLECH.
        
        4th Race:     166. The J.B.Mallaradhya Memorial Cup-(About) 1400
        10 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 80 and above.
        
                       Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis  from  the 
                  winner b g RUBEN STAR. 
        
        5th Race:     167. The Santorini Star Plate - (About) 1200
        12 Runners   Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only
                      (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed
                      second,  third  or  fourth  even  once  ineligible)
                      (Terms).
        
                       As Jockey A. Velu was certified medically unfit to 
                  ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. Amit  Caddy 
                  to substitute Jockey S. Ramesh to ride SMART COLLECTION 
                  in place of Jockey A. Velu, the declared rider.  
        
                       PRECIOUS  ANGEL  (B.  Prakash)  jumped   awkwardly 
                  outwards  and inconvenienced DOCK OF BAY (S.  Selvaraj) 
                  on  its outside soon after jumping out of the  starting 
                  gates. 
        
                       Jockey  Ranjeet Singh, the rider of  BRAVE  ARJUN, 
                  was  fined Rs.1,000/-for the excessive use of the  whip 
                  on his mount during the race (1st infringement).
        
                       The  Stipendiary  Stewards  reported  trainer  Mr. 
                  Irfan  Ghatala and Jockey S. Selvaraj to  the  Stewards 
                  regarding  the running and riding of DOCK OF  BAY.  The 
                  Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and inter-
                  viewed Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala and Jockey S.  Selvar-
                  aj.  After deliberations, they decided to (a)  severely 
                  caution  trainer  Mr. Irfan Ghatala as  to  the  future 
                  running  of his charges; and (b) suspend  the  Jockey's 
                  Licence of Selvaraj from 1-8-2007 to 3-8-2007 and  from 
                  23-8-2007 to 31-8-2007 (both days inclusive) for unsat-
                  isfactory riding (Rule No.161(ii)) on his mount DOCK OF 
                  BAY in the above race (permitted to ride work). 

                       Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis  from  the 
                  winner ch f SUPER WOMAN.
        
        6th Race:    168. The Sardar Khan Memorial Plate - (About) 1400
         9 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70.
        
                       Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Arjun Manga-
                  lorkar to withdraw ACE ACT on veterinary grounds as  it 
                  was lame on right fore due to sprained fetlock.  He was 
                  informed  that  he must produce a  Fitness  Certificate 
                  from  the  Club's Veterinary Officer  before  accepting 
                  with it again. 
        
                       Jockey  Mark  Zahra,  the rider  of  SNOW  RANGER, 
                  reported  that his saddle slipped backward  soon  after 
                  the start. After examination of the equipment after the 
                  race, trainer Mr. M.P. Mahaesh was fined Rs.2,000/- for 
                  faulty saddling of his charge SNOW RANGER in the  above 
                  race. 
        
                       Jockey  J.H.  Christopher, the rider of  AN  EQUAL 
                  MUSIC, was fined Rs.2,000/- for coming `in' and causing 
                  interference to SNOW RANGER (Mark Zahra) on his  inside  
                  approaching the 400 Metres. 
        
                       Jockey B. Prakash, the rider of SWEEPING  SUCCESS, 
                  was fined Rs.2,000/- for coming `in' and causing inter-
                  ference to SNOW RANGER (Mark Zahra) on his inside which 
                  in  turn  passed it on to ALINSKI (M.  Reuben)  on  the 
                  inside approaching the 300 Metres. 
        
        7th Race:     169. The Chantille Plate-(About) 1200 Metres.Horses
        12 Runners    rated 00 to 30.
        
                       As  Jockey Vijay R Kadam was  certified  medically 
                  unfit  to  ride permission was granted to  trainer  Mr. 
                  Neil  Darashah  to substitute Jockey R.  Ravi  to  ride 
                  LATIN  TWISTER,  in place of Jockey Vijay R  Kadam  the 
                  declared rider.           
        
                       Trainer  Mr. N.A. Ponnappa was fined Rs.500/-  for 
                  failing  to  put tongue strap on his  charge  TOUCH  ME 
                  HONEY  for the use of which prior permission  has  been 
                  granted.  Subsequently tongue strap was put before  the 
                  horse left to the paddock. 
        
                       MASTER STRATEGIST (Ashwin Rao) galloping  fiercely 
                  behind MISS LIBERTY (S. John) had to be checked by  its 
                  rider  to  avoid clipping the heels of the  latter  ap-
                  proaching the 800 Metres. 
        
                       Jockey Ashwin Rao, the rider of MASTER STRATEGIST, 
                  reported  that his saddle shifted back soon  after  the 
                  start.   After examination of the equipment  after  the 
                  race,  trainer Mr. Amit Caddy was fined Rs.2,000/-  for 
                  faulty saddling of his charge MASTER STRATEGIST. 
        
                       Jockey  Gaurav Sapra, the rider of  SCINTILLATING-
                  STYLE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for coming `in' and causing 
                  interference  to  CHOYA (Imran Chisty)  on  his  inside 
                  approaching the 800 Metres. 
                
                       Jockey  Shobhan Babu, the rider of  CLASSIC  MOVE-
                  MENTS, was fined Rs.2,000/- for coming `in' and causing 
                  severe interference to ROAD TO ROMANCE (V. Sunil Kumar) 
                  on his inside approaching the 150 Metres. 
        
                       Jockey  Gaurav Sapra, the rider of  SCINTILLATING-
                  STYLE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for coming `in' and causing 
                  interference to FAIRY FLAME (B. Prakash) on his  inside 
                  approaching the 100 Metres.

        on  behalf of trainer Mr. P. Shroff who was unable to attend  the
