In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Karan Singh was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track. Jockey K. Chethana, the rider of BURNING AMBI- TIONS, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not persevering with his mount during the race. EXCELLENT ABILITY (Suraj Narredu) burst its blood vessels after the race. Trainer Mr. Darius Byramji was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. SUGAR BLAZE (Vinod Shinde) burst its blood vessels after the race. EDMONDO (J.H. Christopher) jumped awkwardly out- wards from the starting gates. Jockey C. Krishnan, the rider of GREENS, was fined Rs.500/- for presenting himself with wrong colours at the scales. Subsequently the correct colours were used. Jockey C. Krishnan, the rider of GREENS was fined Rs.5,000/- for shifting `in' and causing severe inter- ference to ABS FABS (S. John) on his inside which brushed the false rails and also had to be checked by its rider approaching the 900 Metres. As a result LIBERTY SPEAKS (S. Babu) running behind the latter also had to be checked by its rider and further it brushed the false rails. Jockey C. Krishnan, the rider of GREENS, was reprimanded for repeatedly looking back for no apparent reason during the final stages of the race. ABS FABS (S. John) sustained a cut injury on right stifle. Gautam Raj Urs) stumbled soon after jumping out of the gates whereby the rider got momentarily unbalanced and lost control over his mount which went in and inconvenienced APPERTAIN (C. Alford) on its inside. Jockey S.R. Bhagwat, the rider of BADDA RUPAIYYA, was fined Rs.5,000/- for repeatedly checking his mount soon after the start thereby losing position. Jockey S.R. Bhagwat, the rider of BADDA RUPAIYYA, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race. Jockey S. Chandrashekar, the rider of HIDALGO, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement). Jockey C. Alford, the rider of APPERTAIN, was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course in the straight. 7th Race: 161. The Happy Valley Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. 10 Runners For Horses rated 00 to 25, 4, 5 and 6 years old. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Dominic to withdraw ROAD TO ROMANCE on veterinary grounds as it was suffering from fever. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veteri- nary Officer before accepting with it again. Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the starting declaration in respect of his charge WHISPER VALLEY as regards shoeing. Jockey M.J. Gautam Raj Urs, the rider of ZIGGY STARDUST, reported that his mount jumped awkwardly outwards and in the process brushed the gates. Ramesh, the rider of NEW PASTURES, reported that he lost his left stirrup while jumping out of the gates which he regained within a few strides. Jockey M.D. Praveen, the rider of SIMPLY DAN- GEROUS, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not being alert at the start and for travelling wide rounding the final bend for no apparent reason. Jockey J.H. Christopher, the rider of REFRESH, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement). Jockey Vivek, the rider of SOUTH PARADISE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement). Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligi- ble.) Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar and Jockey C. Alford were questioned regarding the running and riding of KYLES OF BUTE. The trainer stated that he had instructed the rider to keep it in 2nd or 3rd position and ride out in the straight. When he questioned the rider soon after the race, the rider had stated that as he made his move from the outside draw, he found himself in the front and that he held his mount in check and rode out in the straight. He said that as per his observation his charge was beaten by the winner only in the last 80 Metres and further the left fore shoe of his charge had apparently come of during the race. Considering these factors he was inclined accept the expla- nations of the rider as also the performance of his charge. Jockey C. Alford corroborated the statement of the trainer as regards the riding instructions as also the running of the race. Their explanations were noted. Sd/- T. Based on the report submitted by the Chief Veterinary Offic- er to the effect that instead of b f PRINCESS KIDANE which was accepted to run in the above race, a different horse had been presented by trainer Mr. Karan Singh, the Stewards directed the Stipendiary Stewards to conduct a thorough enquiry and submit their report thereon. The Stewards at their meeting held on 20th July 2008, considered the detailed report submitted by the Stipendiary Stewards into this incident. They interviewed trainer Mr. Karan Singh. After due deliberations, they decided to suspend the Trainer's Licence granted to Mr. Karan Singh from 30-7-2008 to 29-10-2008 (both days inclusive) for gross negligence in the discharge of his duties as a trainer with regard to the presenta- tion of his charge b f PRINCESS KIDANE for the above race thereby contravening Rule No.114(b)(i) read with Rule No.166(b) of BTC Rules of Racing. The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., at their meeting held on Sunday, 20th July 2008, considered the appeal filed by Jockey Saddam Iqbal against the decision of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., in suspending his Jockeys Licence from 22-7-2008 to 23-7-2008 and from 14-8-2008 to 18-9-2008 for unsatisfactory riding on his mount MATTER OF OPINION in the above race. They interviewed Jockey Saddam Iqbal and trainer Mr. M. Pratap Kamath. After deliberations, the Stewards decided to reduce the period of punishment imposed on Jockey Saddam Iqbal in that the Jockey's licence shall remain suspended from 14-8-2008 to 4-9-2008(both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work).
