Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar and Jockey C. Alford were
questioned regarding the running and riding of KYLES OF BUTE. The
trainer stated that he had instructed the rider to keep it in 2nd
or 3rd position and ride out in the straight. When he questioned
the rider soon after the race, the rider had stated that as he
made his move from the outside draw, he found himself in the
front and that he held his mount in check and rode out in the
straight. He said that as per his observation his charge was
beaten by the winner only in the last 80 Metres and further the
left fore shoe of his charge had apparently come of during the
race. Considering these factors he was inclined accept the expla-
nations of the rider as also the performance of his charge.
Jockey C. Alford corroborated the statement of the trainer as
regards the riding instructions as also the running of the race.
        Their explanations were noted.
