        1st Race:     179. The Royal Randwick Plate-(About) 2000 Metres. 
         8 Runners    For Horses rated 00 to 25.
        
        Passing  the  1400 Metres in a closely packed field as  the  pace 
        slowed down ATTATURK (S. Shiva Kumar) who was galloping  fiercely 
        behind  TRACK WONDER (J.H Christopher) had to be checked  by  its 
        rider  to  avoid  striking the front runner. As  a  result  ROYAL 
        CONFIDENCE (B. Prakash) moving directly behind the latter had  to 
        be very severely checked by its rider and lost its position. 
        
        Jockey S. Shiva Kumar, the rider of ATTATURK was fined Rs.1,000/- 
        for  shifting out and causing interference to PRINCE NORBERT  (C. 
        Krishnan) on his outside approaching the 350 Metres.
        
        MAJOR ASSET (S. Ramesh) sustained gum injury. 
        
        ZANGI (Vivek)sustained a cut injury on left hind. 
        
        After  the  race the Club's Veterinary Officer reported  that  on 
        examination it was observed that the right hind shoe of  ATTATURK 
        had apparently come off during the race. 
        
        Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis from the winner  dk  b  g 
        ATTATURK. 
        
        2nd Race:     180. The Chaitanya Chakram Trophy - (About) 1100 
         8 Runners    Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only
                      (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed
                      second,  third  or  fourth  even  once  ineligible)
                      (Terms). 
        
        Trainer  Mr. J.S. Dhariwal was fined Rs.10,000/- by the  Stewards 
        for  accepting his charge JUST IN TIME when the horse  was  under 
        veterinary  treatment. Subsequently it was permitted to be  with-
        drawn. 
        
        KYLES OF BUTE (K.P.G. Appu) jumped awkwardly outwards and  incon-
        venienced COMANCHE WAR PAINT (B. Prakash) which in turn passed it 
        on to ONE FINE DAY (A. Velu) on the outside.
        
        Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of KYLES OF BUTE, reported that his 
        mount  was running green throughout the race whereby it  went  in 
        and  inconvenienced  ARNATTA (Suraj Narredu) on  its  inside  ap-
        proaching the 1000 Metres and again approaching the 400 Metres it 
        suddenly  went  `in'  and brushed the false  rails  and  hit  the 
        upright  of the false rails thereby momentarily  unbalancing  the 
        rider.  Trainer  Mr.  Arjun Mangalorkar was informed  to  get  it 
        checked  by  his  Veterinarian and  take  appropriate  corrective 
        measures before accepting with it again. 
        
        3rd Race:     181. The Doaba Stud Plate - (About) 1800 Metres. 
         6 Runners    For Horses rated 60 to 85.
        
        BLINK  (K.P.G.  Appu) could not get a clear run  approaching  the 
        1600 Metres due to a closely packed field. 
        
        LOCAL  WARRIOR (Suraj Narredu) sustained an injury on right  hind 
        fetlock. 
        
        4th Race:     182. The Bangalore City Gold Cup-(Grade III) -
         4 Runners    (About) 1200 Metres. For Indian Horses 3 years old
                      and over.
        
        AURELIAN  (M. Narredu) slipped on his hind legs at the start  and 
        lost few lengths. 
        
        MARK OF GIBRALTAR (Y.S. Srinath) slipped on his hind legs at  the 
        start  and  stumbled  after jumping out whereby  the  rider  lost 
        control over his mount and inconvenienced LADY ONE (Wayne  Smith) 
        on the inside. 
        
        MARK  OF GIBRALTAR (Y.S.Srinath) sustained a deep cut  injury  on 
        left fore inner bulb of heel.
        
        Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following  I, 
        II and III placed horses viz:

        5th Race:     183. The S. Jayaraman Memorial Cup-Div.I-(About) 
         9 Runners    1400 Metres. For Horses rated 40 to 65, 4, 5 and 6
                      years old.
        
        Jockey  C.  Krishnan,  the  rider  of  NOBLE  GUEST,  was   fined 
        Rs.1,000/-  for  dropping his hands before  passing  the  winning 
        post. 
        
        Jockey Shanth Kumar, the rider of WILE WENCH, was severely repri-
        manded for not persevering with his mount in the last 200 Metres.
        
        Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g WAR CHILD. 
        
        6th Race:     184. The Ministrella Plate-(About) 1200 Metres.  
         8 Runners    For Horses rated 20 to 45.
        
        Jockey  P.S.Chouhan was fined Rs.2,000/- for accepting two  rides 
        in the above race.
        
        CUTE  STYLE  (P.S. Chouhan) jumped awkwardly  and  inconvenienced 
        GALLOPING BLUES (B. Prakash) soon after the start. 
        
        ASTRO  FUTURE (B.L. Paswan) planted and lost many lengths at  the 
        start.  In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Pradeep Annaiah  was 
        informed  that  he must not accept with it again  until  its  be-
        haviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary  Stewards 
        in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track. 
        
        The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey B. Prakash, the rider of 
        GALLOPING  BLUES  to  the  Stewards  for  careless  riding  (Rule 
        No.161(i)) in that approaching the 900 Metres he came in  sharply 
        and  caused severe interference to SHE'S BIG  (S.  Chandrashekar) 
        which struck the front runner and stumbled momentarily  unbalanc-
        ing  the rider. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last  race 
        and  interviewed Jockeys B.Prakash and S.  Chandrashekar.   After 
        deliberations,  they  decided to suspend Jockey B.  Prakash  from 
        riding in races from 10-8-2008 to 28-8-2008 (both days inclusive) 
        for careless riding (Rule No.161(i)) on his mount GALLOPING BLUES 
        in the above race (permitted to ride work).
              
        7th Race:     185. The S. Jayaraman Memorial Cup-Div.II-(About) 
         8 Runners    1400 Metres. For Horses rated 40 to 65, 4, 5 and 6
                      years old.
        
        Jockey  K.P.G. Appu, the rider of MILFORD placed II by the  Judge 
        objected against Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of AXIOLOGY  for 
        "in  the  last  250 Metres the winner  drifted  `in'  whereby  he 
        squeezed me and came `in' sharply where I had to stop riding  for 
        a  couple of strides and pull my horse outside when my horse  was 
        full  of running and came with a re-run which cost me  a  certain 
        race.   The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after  the  race 
        and interviewed the Jockeys concerned.  After deliberations  they 
        decided to overrule the objection.
        
        GOOD COMPANION (Shobhan Babu) could not get a clear run approach-
        ing the 350 Metres due to a tightly packed field. 
        
        Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of AXIOLOGY, was fined Rs.3,000/- 
        for not maintaining a straight course approaching the 100 Metres.

        6th Race:168. The Nawab Sultan Ali Khan Memorial Plate 
        (About) 1600 Metres  Horses Rated 40to 65, 4, 5 & 6 years old
        
             The  Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Wayne  Smith,  the 
        rider  of  ROYAL  ALCHEMIST to the  Stewards  for  unsatisfactory 
        riding  on  his  mount in the above race. The  Stewards  held  an 
        enquiry  after  the  last race on Thursady, 31st  July  2008  and 
        interviewed  Trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan and Jockey  Wayne  Smith.  
        After  deliberations, they decided to (a) note  the  explanations 
        tendered  by trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan; and (b)  suspend  Jockey 
        Wayne  Smith  from riding in races from  10-8-2008  to  28-8-2008 
        (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding (Rule  No.161(ii) 
        in  that  he failed to induce adequate vigor on his  mount  ROYAL 
        ALCHEMIST  in the last 350 Metres of the race (permitted to  ride 
        work).
        
        Race N0.174. The Col. Rajkumar C. Desraj Urs Memorial  Cup-Div.I-
        (About)  120 Metres, for horses rated 40 to 65.
        
             The  Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Faisal  M  Ismail, 
        the declared rider of HAWAIIAN SUNRISE to the Stewards for  fail-
        ing  to fulfill his riding engagement on HAWAIIAN SUNRISE in  the 
        above race  after having accepted the ride in that (i) he  failed 
        to  present himself for weighing at the scales in the  prescribed 
        time;  (ii) he expressed his inability to ride only after he  was 
        questioned  by  the  concerned official  thereby  attracting  the 
        provisions  of Rule No.101(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing  in  in-
        dulging  in  misconduct. The Stewards held an enquiry  after  the 
        last  race on Thursday, 31st July 2008 and interviewed the  Clerk 
        of the Scales Mr. Maruti Naik, trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar  and 
        Jockey  Faisal  M  Ismail. After deliberations  they  decided  to 
        suspend  Jockey Faisal M Ismail from riding in races  from  10-8-
        2008  to  28-8-2008 (both days inclusive) and fine him a  sum  of 
        Rs.10,000/-   for  refusing to fulfill his riding  engagement  on 
        HAWAIIAN  SUNRISE in that failing to inform either the  Clerk  of 
        the Scales, the trainer or any of the Stipendiary Stewards of his 
        non-preparedness to ride HAWAIIAN SUNRISE in the above race after 
        having  accepted  the ride thereby attracting the  provisions  of 
        Rule No.101(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing in indulging in miscon-
        duct (permitted to ride work).
