        1st Race:     186. The Santorini Star Stakes  - (About) 1400 
         7 Runners    Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only
                      (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed
                      second,  third  or  fourth  even  once  ineligible)
                      (Terms). 
        
        Permission  was granted to trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal to  withdraw 
        SPANDAU BALLET on Veterinary ground as it was  lame on right fore 
        due  to inflammed cannon. He was informed that he must produce  a 
        Fitness  Certificate  from the Club's Veterinary  Officer  before 
        accepting with it again. 
        
        COVER UP (Shanth Kumar) jumped out awkwardly and did not raise  a 
        fluent gallop. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. S.Narredu was 
        informed that hemust not accept with it again until its behaviour 
        improved  to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in  one 
        Mock Race on a race day on the race track
        
        Jockey  K.P.G. Appu, the rider of SUPER SHA was  reprimanded  for 
        dropping  his hands before passing the winning  post.
        
        Trainer  Mr. R.R. Byramji was questioned as to the  poor  perfor-
        mance  of his charge DESERT RULE in the above race.  The  trainer 
        stated that the horse was very coltish in its behaviour which  he 
        could  observe even from the time of saddling and it was  concen-
        trating in the race. He added that he felt it would be an experi-
        ence  to geld the horse before racing it again. His  explanations 
        were noted.
        
        DESERT RULE (Suraj Narredu) sustained a cut injury on right  hind 
        fetlock. 
        
        Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b c DESERT RULE.
        
        2nd Race:     187. The Udhagamandalam Stakes-(About) 1100 Metres. 
         8 Runners    For Horses rated 00 to 25.
        
        The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the  rider 
        of  TWO  TO  TANGO  to the Stewards  for  careless  riding  (Rule 
        No.161(i)) in that passing the 1000 Metres he came in sharply and 
        caused  severe  interference to ROYAL ZEN (B.L.  Paswan)  on  his 
        inside  which went in turn passed it on to MONEY MANTRA (S.  Sel-
        varaj)  along the rails. The Stewards held an enquiry  after  the 
        race  and  interviewed Jockeys Gaurav Sapra, B.L. Paswan  and  S. 
        Selvaraj.   After deliberations, they decided to  suspend  Jockey  
        Gaurav  Sapra  from riding in races from 11-8-2008  to  28-8-2008 
        (both days inclusive) for careless riding (Rule No.161(i)) on his 
        mount TWO TO TANGO in the above race (permitted to ride work).
        
        An enquiry is being held into the careless riding of Jockey  P.S. 
        Chouhan on his mount WORD TO WORD in the above race.  
        
        3rd Race:     188. The Bold Gesture Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. 
         8 Runners    For Horses rated 20 to 45.
        
        Jockey  M. Narredu, the rider of LEOPARDINO was fined  Rs.2,000/- 
        for  shifting `in' and causing interference to  REIGNING  MONARCH 
        (B. Prakash) on his inside passing the 200 Metres. 
        
        LEOPARDINO (M.Narredu) sustained gum injury
        
        ROYAL BANK (J.H. Christopher) sustained a cut injury on left hind 
        cannon.  
        
        Routine  Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch g  LEO-
        PARDINO.
        
        4th Race:     189. The Usha Stud Bangalore Summer Million -
         8 Runners    Grade III-(About) 1600 Metres. For 3 year old
                      Indian Horses (Foaled in 2005) (Terms).
        
        STORMY RIVER (Harish) violently shifted out  approaching the 1400 
        Metres  despite  the efforts of the rider to keep it on  an  even 
        course thereby interfering with CHIMERIQUE (Ryan Marshall) on its 
        outside.  The horse was impounded for veterinary examination  but 
        no abnormality was reported. However, Trainer Mr. S.  Padmanabhan 
        was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accept-
        ing with it again. 
        
        STORMY  RIVER (Harish) could not get a clear run approaching  the 
        1000 Metres due to a tightly packed field. 
        
        UNDUE  (J.H. Christopher) could not get a clear run   approaching 
        the 400 Metres due to a tightly packed field. 
        
        Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following  I, 
        II and III placed horses viz:

        Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f WESTERN 
        COMMAND. 
        
        6th Race:     191. The Patrons Cup - (About) 2000 Metres. 
         8 Runners    For Horses rated 40 to 65.
        
        Permission  was  granted to trainer Mr. S.  Narredu  to  withdraw 
        THUNDERS  ROAR on veterinary grounds as it was lame on left  hind 
        due  to inflammed hoof.  He was informed that he must  produce  a 

        Fitness  Certificate  from the Club's Veterinary  Officer  before 
        accepting with it again. 
        
        7th Race:     192. The Iflookscouldkill Plate - (About) 1600
         7 Runners    Metres. For Horses rated 20 to 45, 4, 5 and 6 years
                      old.
        
        On examination at the starting gates SUNNY CONNECXION (J.H.Chris-
        topher)  found to be trotting lame on right fore. Under the  cir-
        cumstances the horse was permitted to be withdrawn before  coming 
        under  Starter's  orders. Trainer Mr. Warren Singh  was  informed 
        that  he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the  Club's  Ve-
        terinary Officer before accepting with it again. 
        
        Jockey  Shoban Babu, the rider of STAR BLUE was  reprimanded  for 
        not maintaining a straight course soon after the start. 
        
        Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g FREEMA-
        SON.

        7th  Race   86.  The Ramkirpal Plate-(About) 1400 Metres.  Horses 
        rated 20 to 45.
        
             The  Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th  July  2008 
        considered  appeal  dated 21-7-2008 filed by  Trainer  Mr.  Karan 
        Singh  against  the decision of the Stewards  in  suspending  his 
        licence  from 30-7-2008 to 29-10-2008 (both days  inclusive)  for 
        gross negligence in the discharge of his duties as a trainer with 
        regard to the presentation of his charge b f PRINCESS KIDANE  for 
        the  above  race thereby contravening Rule NO.114b(i)  read  with 
        Rule No.166(b) of BTC Rules of Racing).
        
             The Board interviewed trainer Mr. Karan Singh.  After delib-
        erations, the Board decided to reject the appeal filed by trainer 
        Mr.  Karan Singh and that the effective period of  suspension  of 
        his  licence  shall  be from 4-8-2008 to  3-11-2008.   The  Board 
        further  decided that the deposit of Rs.2,500/- paid  by  trainer 
        Mr. Karan Singh be forfeited.

        Metres. Horses rated 80 and above.
        
             The  Board of Appeal decided to stay the punishment  imposed 
        on Jockey Ranjeet Singh (whose Jockey's Licence was suspended  by 
        the Stewards from 5-8-2008 to 18-9-2008 (both days inclusive) for 
        unsatisfactory riding (Rule No.161(ii)of BTC Rules of Racing   on 
        his  mount PERFECT RYTHM in the above race) till his  appeal  was 
        heard and finally disposed off by the Board of Appeal.
