RACING INCIDENTS

Going : Good Penetrometer Reading : 4.2 Cms.
(False Rails : Average width of 4.5 Metres from 1600 Metres to 1000 Metres and 9 Metres from 1000 Metres to the winning Post.)
1st Race : 25. The Star Contender Plate-Div-II - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65. (8 Runners).
Jockey A. Imran Khan, the rider of DUKE OF WINDSOR, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to PRINCE VILLE (Md. Shafiq) which in turn shifted out and inconvenienced POETIC (Vivek) approaching the 600 Metres.
2nd Race: 26. The Prince Khartoum Trophy-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) -Terms (8 Runners).
Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of BRUNETTA, reported that his saddle shifted back within 100 Metres of the start. On examination of the equipment, it was found that the saddle had shifted back considerably. Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
Jockey S. John, the rider of MEGA JOY, was fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting in and causing severe interference to IMPERIAL GUEST (Vivek) approaching the 100 Metres.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch f MESSALINA.
3rd Race : 27. The Star Contender Plate-Div-I - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65. (8 Runners).
TOUCH OF MAGIC (Harsha N) jumped and veered out at the start. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in 2 jump outs on starting gate practice days.
Jockey Stephane Breux, the rider of SUNNY BABA, was reprimanded for lack
of care in the manner he used the whip as he struck CAPTIVATING (Suraj Narredu)
approaching the 350 Metres.
Jockey B. Srinivas Rao, the rider of FLAIR QUEEN, was fined Rs.1,000/- for travelling wide throughout the race for no apparent reason.
TOUCH OF MAGIC (Harsha N.) was impounded for veterinary examination in view of its behaviour after jumping out and was reported by the Veterinary Officer to have sharp molars on the lower jaw (either side) . Trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar was fined Rs.3,000/- (2nd infringement). He was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f CAPTIVATING.
4th Race: 28. The Prince Khartoum Trophy-Div.I-(About) 1200 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) - Terms (8 Runners).
SNOW PEAKS (Harish) was examined and observed to have gum injury on the left side.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch f MYSTIC QUEST.
5th Race: 29. The Fernhill's Palace Juvenile Million (Grade II)
(About) 1400 Metres. For 3 year-old Indian Horses (foaled in
2006) (9 Runners).
CIELO REY (Suraj Narredu) was stalled in the outside draw (draw No.10) as the front shutters of draw No.4 was broken due to the fractious behaviour of the gelding inside the stall (in accordance with Rule 156 ( b ) of the BTC Rules of Racing ).
Jockey C. Alford, the rider of CRUISING, reported that his mount was hanging out in the straight. Trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal was informed that he must get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.
When questioned Jockey Suraj Narredu reported that CEILO REY was very
fractious at the gates and had broken through the front shutters and galloped
riderless. The horse was then reloaded in stall 10. The Jockey also stated as
his instructions were to ride well up with the pace but found it difficult
initially as he was re-stalled in draw 10 and also the gelding did not respond
well in the straight. He also stated that he had advised the trainer to have
CEILO REY's back checked as it had ducked through the gates. His explanations
were noted .
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g CIELO REY.
Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed horses viz:

6th Race: 30. The Ministerial Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) -Terms (10 Runners).
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan to withdraw BECKET (Wayne Smith) at 3.55 p.m. on 24th May 2009. The veterinary report stated that the horse sustained a fall resulting in injuries on left knee, right fore arm, right fore fetlock, left hock and bleeding gum injury. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Trainer Mr. P. Shroff was fined Rs.500/- for not taking prior permission for the use of hanging bit on his charge NATOCHKA before the race. Subsequently the hanging bit was replaced by normal bit.
THE PEARL (B. Prakash) splayed its right fore shoe while parading in the
paddock. The horse was subsequently reshod in the saddling enclosure.
Jockey B. Prakash on the way to the starting gates requested the horse to be
checked especially the right fore. On arrival at the gates the horse was
examined by the Veterinary Officers and was passed fit.
AMAR PREM (R. Koch) was extremely fractious at the gates and refused to be stalled. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's Order.
Passing the 600 Metres Jockey Imran Chisty (SHE'S A LADY) checked badly along the rails behind the tiring FIRM AMBER (Vivek)and then shifted out causing severe interference to SAVVY CONCEPT (Stephane Breux) unbalancing the rider who lost his left stirrup iron, which he regained immediately. On questioning Jockey Imran Chisty stated that he found FIRM AMBER (Vivek) suddenly dropping back and had to check his mount. After viewing the CCTV replay of the race the Jockeys explanations were noted as a racing incident and as such no further action was taken.
HIGH GLEAM (Mohamed Soaib) sustained an injury on brisket.
7th Race: 31. The Santa Anita Park Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 4 years old and over. (11 Runners).
Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh, the rider of DARING INSTINCT, reported that his mount was wobbling throughout the race. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and revealed no abnormalities.
NEW PASTURES (B. Sreekanth) brushed the false rails approaching the 700 Metres.
NEW PASTURES (B. Sreekanth) sustained an injury on right hind fetlock.
LADY OF LIGHT (H.G. Rathod) sustained a bleeding injury on right flank.
An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of GREAT CHIEFTAN (C Harish).

Jockey Md. Shafiq was fined Rs.2,000/- for not observing the track formalities in that he jumped the horse from the gates in the evening without the helmet, body protector and riding boots.

Second Day, Sunday, 17th May 2009
Race No.13. The M.N. Prakash Memorial Trophy-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres. Horses
rated 40 to 65, 4 years old and over.
An enquiry had been opened into the running of MUSIC FOREVER.After due enquiry the explanations tendered by trainer Mr. S. Dominic were noted for future reference.
Race No.14. The Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Cup - Grade III-(About) 1400 Metres. For Horses 4 years old and over.
An enquiry had been opened into the saddling of GREEN BAX. After due enquiry trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan (deputizing for trainer Mr. M. Eshwer) was fined Rs.5,000/- for the negligence in his discharge of duty as a trainer in that he failed to saddle GREEN BAX and for the delay in coming to the paddock to give instructions for the above race.
Race No.17. The Usha Stud Plate- Div.I-(About) 1400 Metres. For Horses
rated 60 to 85, 4 years old and over.
