RACING INCIDENTS

1st Race: 72. The Mahalakshmi Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
Horses rated 00 to 25 (9 Runners).

RUDIMENTARY (Md. Shafiq) jumped and swerved towards left and did not raise a fluent gallop. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

Soon after the start ROYAL LEGEND (P.S. Chouhan) shifted in and bumped SENNA (K.P.G. Appu). On questioning Jockey P.S. Chouhan stated that his mount was hanging in and in spite of his best efforts the horse bumped SENNA. Jockey P.S. Chouhan was advised to be more careful in future.

Jockey M.J. Gautam Raj Urs, the rider of WESTERN PALACE, was reprimanded for not improving position from 500 Metres to 400 Metres.

LADY OF LIGHT (H.G. Rathod) pulled up lame on left fore. Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

SENNA (K.P.G. Appu) sustained a bleeding injury on right flank.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dkb g ROYAL LEGEND.

2nd Race : 73. The His Majesty Plate - (About) 1200 Metres.
Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (8 Runners).

GOLD CROWN (B. Prakash) jumped awkwardly inwards and inconvenienced PORTOBELLO (Imran Chisty) soon after the start.

CHINA TOWN (C. Alford) was observed to have dropped back sharply in the final stages of the race. On questioning trainer Mr. Darius Byramji stated that his charge CHINA TOWN had pulled up both its Testicles and added that he intended to geld it in the next 3 days. His explanations were noted.

Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f CELISTIAL WAY.

3rd Race: 74. The Ich Dien Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
Horses rated 20 to 45 (11 Runners).

SOUTHERN STYLE (Khurshad Alam) planted and did not raise a fluent gallop. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

Jockey P.S. Chouhan, the rider of RASHIDA, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to ISINBAYEVA (VR Jagdeesh) near the 1200 Metres and AMBER STAR (M. Madhu Babu) approaching the 800 Metres.

AMBER STAR (M. Madhu Babu) sustained bleeding injury on left fore cannon.

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of MISS EVERYWHERE(Imran Christy).

4th Race: 75. TheJustice P. Medapa Memorial Cup - (About)
1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65 (9 Runners).

COORG HONEY (C Rajendra) and CRACKERJACK( S Guruprasad) bumped heavily on jumping.

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey G.Vijay, the rider of GRIS RAPIDE to the Stewards for improper riding (Rule No.161(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in that the Jockey lost his right stirrup soon after the gates opened and veered out violently causing severe interference to LITTLE SPLENDOUR ((T. Rahul) and SENORA ENCIMA (Ryan Marshall).

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey G.Vijay, the rider of GRIS RAPIDE for careless riding (Rule No.161(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in that he shifted in approaching the 400 Metres causing KRIPA (Harish) to check and fall back.

5th Race: 76. The Sans Craints Stud Plate - (About) 1200
Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85 (10 Runners).

ON A ROLL (S Shiva Kumar) shifted in at the start tightening OWN VOICE (A Imran Khan) which in turn bumped EDMONDO (C Alford). C Alford reported that due to this interference he was unable to ride EDMONDO in a forward position as instructed.

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Amit Caddy to withdraw LUCKYNUMBERSLEVIN, on veterinary grounds as it was found to be suffering from colic at 0.45 hours on 12th June 2009. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

ON A ROLL (S. Shiva Kumar - drawn 6) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped OWN VOICE (A. Imran Khan - drawn 5) which in turn bumped EDMONDO (C. Alford - drawn 4) on his inside soon after the start.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g AFEA.

6th Race: 77. The Fillies Trial Stakes (Grade I) -(About) 1600
Metres. For 3-year old Indian Fillies (Foaled in 2006) (13 Runners).

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. P. Shroff to withdraw ASTRAL FLASH on veterinary grounds as it was examined at 10.45 a.m. and found to be walking lame on left fore due to inflamed hoof. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Jockey A. Imran Khan, the rider of MYSTIC QUEST, was fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to FLOWER ALLEY (D. Gnaneshwar) which further went on to TANZANITE (Imran Chisty) approaching the 400 Metres.

Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following I, II and III placed horses viz:

7th Race : 78. The Elusive Pimpernel Trophy - (About) 1400
Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (11 Runners).

Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of ONLY A VISION, reported that his mount was not galloping fluently all through the race as it was blind in its right eye and he further added that he had difficulties in keeping it on an even course rounding the final bend. Trainer Mr. M. Eshwer was informed to take appropriate corrective measures and not to accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

LEAVE IT TO ME (Wayne Smith) shifted out and inconvenienced BRUNETTA (Imran Chisty) approaching the 1000 Metres.

Jockey M.Ravi, the rider of NOBLE BREEZE was fined Rs.2,000/- for negligence in that he allowed his mount to over reach the front runner STEP IN STYLE (B. Prakash) causing the horse to be unbalanced approaching the 1200 Metres.

STEP IN STYLE (B. Prakash) sustained an injury on right hind gaskin.

8th Race: 79. The Galilee Plate - (About) 1100 Metres. Horses
rated 20 to 45 (11 Runners).

IDAR PRINCESS (Himanshu) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped SANFRANCISCO GIRL (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) in the process Jockey Himanshu lost his right stirrup iron which he regained within a few strides.

MONARCHIAL (S. Shiva Kumar) jumped awkwardly outwards and inconvenienced DESIRE TO DAZZLE (N. Hasha) soon after jumping out of the starting gates.

Jockey Himanshu, the rider of IDAR PRINCES, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not exercising sufficient control over his mount whereby he allowed his mount to drift out rounding the final bend under the use of whip.

7TH DAY SATURDAY, 6TH JUNE 2009

53. The K.N. Guruswamy Memorial Trophy-Div.I-(About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85, 4 years old and over.

An enquiry was held into the improved performance of LAVA trained by Mr. B. Puttanna in that in Race No. 17 . The Usha Stud Plate Handicap for Horses rated 60 to 85, 4 years old and over, it ran unplaced . The Stewards held an enquiry on 14th June 2009 and interviewed trainer Mr. B. Puttanna. After deliberations, they decided to:

(a) fine Mr. B. Puttanna a sum of Rs.5,000/- for the improved performance of his charge LAVA in the above race;
(b) caution him for a repetition of a similar incident that would be viewed seriously.

8TH DAY, SUNDAY, 7TH JUNE, 2009

56. The Prabalo Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres, Horses rated 20 to 45.

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of RUBY LEGEND trained by Mr. S. Ganapathy and ridden by Jockey A. Imran Khan. The Stewards held an enquiry on 14th June 2009 and interviewed trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy and Jockey A. Imran Khan.

On questioning trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy stated that:

(a) he had asked the Jockey to ride from 4th/5th position and do his best in the straight;

(b) he thought the winner spurted better than his horse;

© the race was a very fast run race in the early stages, so he was happy that the horse was ridden from the 3rd position;

(d) the Jockey did his best in the straight; and

On questioning Jockey A. Imran Khan stated that:

(a) he rode as per the instructions of the trainer;

(b) as soon as he jumped out he ensured his mount was positioned in 3rd / 4th , his mount did not have initial speed and he did not intend chasing the front runners and gave it all the chances in the race and he did his best from thereon;

(c) he added that as it was a fast run race he knew that the horses in the front would pack up in the straight;

(d) he also added that entering into the straight Jockey Gautam Raj Urs rolled in and since he wanted to give his mount a clear run he checked off the heels of Jockey Gautam Raj Urs's mount and gave his mount a clear run and rode it out from thereon, inspite of his best efforts he could only obtain the 2nd position; his mount and the winner spurted together and his mount had 300 Metres to pass the winner but could not go past him.

After deliberations, they decided to note the explanations tendered by them.

56. The Prabalo Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres, Horses rated 20 to 45.

An enquiry was held into the issue related to the conversation had by Jockeys A. Imran Khan (RUBY LEGAND), V.R. Jagadeesh (STAR LEAGUE) and Gautam Raj Urs (WORTH A MILLION) at the gates before the start of the race. After due enquiry:

(a) Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh was fined Rs.5,000/- for imparting his riding instructions and influencing Jockey M.J. Gautam Raj Urs as to how he had to ride;
(b) Jockey Gautam Raj Urs was fined Rs.2,000/- for imparting his riding instructions to Jockeys V.R. Jagadeesh and A. Imran Khan;
(c) Jockey A. Imran Khan was fined Rs.2,000/- for trying to ascertain the instructions of Jockey M.J. Gautam Raj Urs .

56. The Prabalo Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres, horses rated 20 to 45.

The Stipendiary Stewards held an enquiry on Friday, 12th June 2009 into the improved performance of ASTON PARK trained by Mr. Neil Darashah. The trainer stated that:

(a) he had asked the rider to ride from 2nd/3rd position, do not use the whip too many times, do his best in the straight and the rider had done his best and won the race;

(b) the confirmation of his charge was bad and therefore he could not work it too much.

(c) he thought it would need another run before it could even win, he thought it was one of his weakest 3 year olds in his yard;

(d) it was an absolute surprise for him when the horse won and he never thought it would win so easily;

(e) he thought his charge had improved 3 or 4 lengths from his previous start, the company was very weak, running in Div.II and thought he would pick up as much stakes as possible .

(f) he had not tipped his charge to any of his owners since he thought it would not win and he added if there was a better 3 year old it would have probably won,with a horse like this what ever he picked up was a bonus.

After deliberations the Stipendiary Steward decided to note the explanations tendered by the Trainer.

THIRD DAY, SATURDAY, 23RD MAY, 2009.

7th Race: 24. The Astounding Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over. (11 Runners).

An enquiry was held by the Stipendiary Stewards into the running and riding of GIVE ME THE MONEY (P.S. Chouhan) and YAMAGUCHI (Gaurav Sapra) trained by Mr. Amit Caddy with specific reference to the fluctuation of odds.

After due enquiry they presented the findings to the Stewards. The Stewards held an enquiry on 14th June 2009 and interviewed trainer Mr Amit Caddy with specific reference to the fluctuation of odds in that the odds on GIVE ME THE MONEY drifted out alarmingly and the odds on YAMAGUCHI shortened . The trainer stated that he had fancied both his horses and more strongly GIVE ME THE MONEY since it had worked very well during the gate practice along with YAMAGUCHI. He further added that he had tipped GIVE ME THE MONEY to his owners as she had a decent form in her past but unfortunately the horse returned lame after the race. After deliberations his explanations were noted and he was further cautioned that a repetition of a similar incident would be viewed seriously.
