RACING INCIDENTS
(97 - 104)
Going : Good Penetrometer Reading : 3.5 Cms.
(False Rails: Average width of 3.0 Metres from 1600 Metres to 1000 Metres and 5.5 Metres from 1000 Metres to the Winning Post)
1st Race: 97. The Mauritius Pearl Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400
Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over
(8 Runners).
Trainer Mr. Tharun Thimmaiah was fined Rs.5,000/- for delay in submitting his Declaration Form in respect of his charge TACTICAL GAME.
Trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla was fined 500/- for making an error in the Starting Declaration in respect of his charge PRINCELY GESTURE as regards shoeing.
PRINCELY GESTURE (Jayaprakash) was observed to be travelling wide between 800 Metres and 400 Metres. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and the Veterinary Officer reported the horse to have sharp molars on both the jaws. Trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla was fined Rs.2,000/- for his negligence
Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of YOU AND I reported that his mount was running erratic in the straight.
TACTICAL GAME (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) pulled up lame on right fore. Trainer Mr. Tharun Thimmaiah was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Trainer Mr. Tharun Thimmaiah was fined Rs.5,000/- for reversal of form in respect of his charge ROMANCE IN THE AIR in that his charge had won in the above race as compared to its previous run in race No.71 (The Diablo Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over), when ridden by the same rider it ran last.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g WALTER.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f ROMANCE IN THE AIR.
Jockey Jayprakash, rider of PRINCELY GESTURE was fined Rs.3,000/- for continuously using the whip beyond the point of the shoulder.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey C Krishnan, the rider of WALTER to the Stewards for not allowing his mount to run on its merits (Rule 159(a) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in that:
(a) after entering the straight when he was four horses off the fence and
had a clear passage he chose to take WALTER inwards towards the rails by using
the whip on the left;
(b) between the 250 Metres and 150 Metres when ROMANCE IN THE AIR (Imran Chisty)
shifted inwards in front of WALTER he continued to use the whip on the left and
shifted inwards and failed to take WALTER to the outside of ROMANCE IN THE AIR
thereby disadvantaging his mount;
(c) between the 100 Metes and 20 Metres his riding on WALTER in extricating it
from behind ROMANCE IN THE AIR was
designed to impede rather than assist WALTER.
The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on Sunday 28th June 2009. They interviewed Trainer Mr. B Puttana and Mr.S. Marshall (Spokesman for Jockey C Krishnan). After deliberations, they decided to :
(a) note the explanations tendered by Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna
(b) disqualify Jockey C Krishnan for a period of three years for contravention
of Rule No.159(a) of the BTC Rules of Racing and in terms of powers conferred
under Rule No.159(c) of the BTC Rules of Racing in not permitting his mount
WALTER to run on its merits from 8th July 2009 to 7th July 2012 (both days
inclusive) (not permitted to ride work).
2nd Race: 98. The New Market Plate - (About) 1200 Metres.
Horses rated 00 to 25, 4 years old and over
(11 Runners).
As Jockey M. Madhu Babu was certified medically unfit, permission was granted to trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda to substitute Jockey M.J. Gautham Raj Urs to ride SPREAD A SMILE in place of the declared rider.
DRAUPADI (Harish) was examined at the starting gates and was found to be trotting lame on left fore, hence was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under Starter's Orders. Trainer Mr. Sriram Komandur was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Jockey M.J. Gautham Raj Urs, the rider of SPREAD A SMILE was reprimanded for bumping NICE GUY (P.Mani) on his outside approaching the 1000 Metres.
Jockey T. Rahul, the rider of EVENING RHAPSODY, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 350 Metres.
Jockey Suraj Narredu rider of COMMAND PERFORMANCE reported that his saddle shifted back near the 1000 Metres thereby he could not assist his mount in the straight. Trainer Mr V. Lokanath was fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
JOANNA (S.R. Santosh Kumar) was observed to have run detached form the
field. The horse was imounded for Veterinary Examination and the Club's
Veterinary Officer reported that the horse was sound.
Trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda was informed that he must not accept with it again
until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in
one MOCK RACE on a race day on the race track.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch f FANTASTIC FLAME.
3rd Race: 99. The Mauritius Pearl Plate -Div.I - (About) 1400
Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over
(8 Runners).
SHEER GOLD (Khurshad Alam) jumped awkwardly outwards and inconvenienced EXPRESS IT (C. Rajendra) which in turn bumped RETRO QUEEN (M.A.Milan) unbalancing the rider which further went out crowding ACT OF DUTY (Imran Chisty), VOODOO MOON (Shadab Khan) and CLOUSEAU (Ryan Marshall) soon after the start. As it was accidental, no further action was taken.
Jockey M.A. Milan, the rider of RETRO QUEEN, was reprimanded for inconveniencing CLOUSEAU (Ryan Marshall) from the 1350 Metres to 1250 Metres.
Jockey F.K. Shabuddin, the rider of REBORN, pulled up his mount approaching the 500 Metres. On examination the Veterinary Officer reported that the horse pulled up lame on right fore. Trainer Mr. Amit Caddy was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
4th Race: 100. The Richelieu Plate - (About) 1800 Metres.
Horses rated 40 to 65 (7 Runners).
Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of GOING FOR GOLD, was reprimanded for shifting out and inconveniencing SAPTASHWA (G. Vijay) approaching the 500 Metres.
Jockey Vivek the rider of READY TO MINGLE was observed to be looking back for as many as three times during the race. On questioning the Jockey stated that he was just ensuring that he was not too much ahead of the field. Jockey Vivek was advised to refrain from looking back during the race in future.
5th Race: 101. The High Commission Trophy - (About) 1200
Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only
(Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed
second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms)
(9 Runners).
Trainer Mr. Darius Byramji reported that his charge AKSINYA had a fall on the way to the saddling enclosure and had requested the Club's Veterinary Officer to examine the horse. The horse was examined at 2.45 pm on 27th June 2009 and was found to have sustained injuries on right hock. As such it was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Subsequently the Trainer was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
ADVANTAGE LOGAN (Imran Chisty) was very fractious and refused to be stalled. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders.
SWARNA MUKHI (C. Harish) was very fractious and refused to be stalled. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders.
Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of BRIGADE'S PRIDE, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to GAME DANCER (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) in the last 100 Metres.
Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of BRIGADE'S PRIDE, reported that he lost his whip in the last 100 Metres.
Jockey R. Koch, the rider of AMAR PREM, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not persevering with his mount in the final 100 Metres.
BRIGADE'S PRIDE (K.P.G. Appu) sustained gum injuries.
FEELIT ENJOYIT (Gaurav Sapra) sustained injury on left hind.
GAME DANCER (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) sustained a bleeding cut injury on left hind coronet.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch c GURUJOSH.
6th Race: 102. The Karnataka Sub-Area Cup-(About) 1400
Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (12 Runners).
Trainer Mr. S.Dominic was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the Starting Declaration in respect of his charge REFLECTION OF GOLD as regards shoeing.
As Jockey S. Shiva Kumar was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. M. Eshwer to substitute Jockey S. Selvaraj to ride BLINK in place of the declared rider.
STAR WAVE (B. Prakash) jumped awkwardly inwards at the start bumping ROYAL AMBASSADOR (Gaurav Sapra).
Jockey S. John, the rider of TOMSK, was fined Rs.2,000/- for weighing out without the stirrup irons and thereby had to weigh out again which also caused a delay in the paddock formality for the above race.
Approaching the 850 meters Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of MILFORD, accidentally brushed the false rails due to a tightly packed field.
DARE DON (S. Rajesh) sustained an injury on right hind coronet.
7th Race: 103. The Skyline Plate - (About) 1600 Metres. Horses
rated 20 to 45 (9 Runners).
Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the Starting Declaration in respect of his charge MIND ME as regards shoeing.
Jockey Vivek, the rider of GRAND TOPAZ, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to GLORY TO DANCER (P.S.Chouhan) approaching the 300 meters.
Jockey Wayne Smith, the rider of SHADES OF WHITE was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount during the race (1st Infringement).
An enquiry was held into the running of GLORY TO DANCER trained by Mr. Pradeep Annaiah and ridden by Jockey P S Chouhan. The trainer stated that:
(a) he had instructed the rider to ride from 4th/5th position and do his
best in the straight;
(b) the rider had ridden as per his instructions if not for the interference in
the straight his charge would have probably run closer; and
(c) his charge's best distance would have been 1400 Metres but as he felt it was
a poor field he chose to run over 1600 Metres.
The Jockey corroborated the statement of the trainer and added that it was
a difficult horse to ride, after entering the straight when he was interfered by
GRAND TOPAZ (Vivek) he had to check his mount and make his run from the inside.
Their explanations were noted for future reference.
8th Race: 104. The Pendragon Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who
have run at least thrice but not placed second, third
or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (11 Runners).
YES WE CAN (P. Mani) shifted in and inconvenienced THE SENATOR (Harish)
soon after jumping out.
