RACING INCIDENTS
(105 - 112)
Going : Good Penetrometer Reading : 3.4 Cms.
(False Rails: Average width of 3.0 Metres from 1600 Metres to 1000 Metres and 5.5 Metres from 1000 Metres to the Winning Post)
1st Race: 105. The Tippu Sultan Cup-Div.II- (About) 1100
Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only
(Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed
second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms)
(8 Runners).
Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of BEST TIME, reported that he lost his
right stirrup iron soon after the start and regained it within a few strides.
Jockey S. Ramesh, the rider of AETIUS, reported that his saddle shifted back soon after jumping out thereby he shifted out and inconvenienced SOURAB (C. Krishnan) approaching the 900 Metres. Trainer Mr. M.P. Mahaesh was fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling.
Jockey Harish, the rider of SKY DRIVE, reported that his mount was running
green in the straight and was not galloping freely in the final 200 Metres. The
horse was impounded for veterinary examination and the Veterinary Officer
reported that the horse was trotting short on the right fore. Trainer Mr. Sriram
Komandur was informed that he must
produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before
accepting with it again.
SKY DRIVE (Harish) sustained cut injuries on right hock.
2nd Race: 106. The Nad Al Sheba Plate - (About) 1800 Metres.
Horses rated 00 to 25 (8 Runners).
Jockey Jayaprakash, the rider of TWO TO TANGO while on the scales at the time of weighing out reported slight giddiness and inability to speak while being questioned. Due to non-availability of the medical Officer at that time, permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla to substitute Jockey F.K. Shabuddin to ride TWO TO TANGO in place of the declared rider.
Jockey M. Mark, the rider of ISINBAYEVA, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting
in and causing interference to GRACIAN (Shadab Khan) approaching the 1500 Metres.
Jockey Shadab Khan, the rider of GRACIAN, was reprimanded for inconveniencing VICTORY IN MOTION (Ahsan Qureshi) on his inside approaching the 1600 Metres.
Jockey N.S. Parmar, the rider of NEW PASTURES, was fined Rs.1,000/- for not exercising sufficient control over his mount under the use of whip thereby allowing it to drift out in the final 200 Metres.
Jockey R.Koch the rider VICTORIA was reprimanded for travelling wide from the 600 Metres.
TRACK WONDER (Imran Chisty) sustained a bleeding injury on right hind coronet.
3rd Race: 107. The Tippu Sultan Cup-Div.I- (About) 1100

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of BRIGADE'S PASSION reported that his saddle shifted back soon after the start and therby had considerable difficulty in riding out his mount. Trainer Mr. Sriram Komandur was fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c BRIGADE'S PASSION.
Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of BRIGADE"S PASSION, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount during the race (1st Infringement).
Jockey S. John, the rider of VIRTUOSO, was questioned regarding his riding instructions. He stated that:
(a) he was asked to take over the running or if some other horse was
faster than his horse to ride from 2nd position and do his best in the straight;
(b) for about the first 200 Metres Jockey K.P.G.Appu's (GOODGIRLGONEBAD) mount
was along side of him and thereafter he had no difficulties in leading the
field;
(c) he even looked back on a couple of occasions to see whether he had taken an
unduly long lead.
(d) His mount had a short burst of speed therby had to conserve in the initial
stages of the races.
4th Race: 108. The Supervite Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
Horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners).
Trainer Mr. S. Britto was fined Rs.10,000/- by the Stewards for accepting his charge SUDDEN THUNDER (Imran Chisty) to start for this race without producing the Fitness Certificate when he had been specifically advised to do so after his last run on 7-3-2009 in Race No.199 of the BWM 2008-09. Under the circumstances, the horse was withdrawn from the above race.
As Jockey M.F. Ali Khan was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Singh to substitute Jockey F.K. Shabuddin to ride MANTHARA in place of the declared rider.
Jockey Stephane Breux, the rider of SOCIAL CLIMBER, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and forcing a passage outwards and inconveniencing DUKE OF WINDSOR (A Imran Khan) rounding the final bend.
Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of CIELO REY reported that his mount was not galloping fluently in the straight and was stopping in the last 200 Metres. Trainer Mr. S.S. Attaollahi was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g CIELO REY.
5th Race: 109. The R.S. Nagendra Kumar Memorial Trophy -
(About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 4 years
old and over (10 Runners).
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Prasanna Kumar to withdraw SPARK OF ISIS on veterinary grounds as it was examined at 7.25 a.m. on 27-6-2009 and was found to be trotting lame on right hind due to sprained fetlock. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
As Jockey C. Rajendra was certified medically unfit to ride after the 2nd race, permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Dominic to substitute Jockey Imran Chisty to ride MUSIC FOREVER in place of the declared rider.
AHIRA (M. Mark) jumped awkwardly outwards and inconvenienced LUNAR LUST (B. Prakash).
Jockey Harish, rider of PERFECT ANALYSIS was fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting out passing the 300 Metres causing LUNAR LUST (B. Prakash) to check and fall back after which LUNAR LUST stopped galloping .
Jockey T. Rahul, the rider of LITTLE SPLENDOUR weighed in 600 grms less than the weight he weighed out at. Subsequently LITTLE SPLENDOUR was disqualified from the above race as per Rule No.180 of the BTC Rules of Racing. An enquiry has been opened into this incident.
LUNAR LUST (B. Prakash) sustained a cut injury on her left hind cannon and both hind fetlocks.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from ch f LUNAR LUST.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g JOIN THE PARTY.
6th Race: 110. The Deccan Chronicle Juvenile Sprinters' Million (Grade III) -(About) 1200 Metres. For 3 year old Indian horses (foaled in 2006) (Terms) (6 Runners).
Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of ONE TRACK MINDED was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to SCUBARIOO (Imran Chisty) on his inside approaching the 1000 Metres.
Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of ONE TRACK MINDED, was fined Rs.1,000/- for restraining his mount for no apparent reason causing SCUBARIOO (Imran Chisty) who was travelling behind to check and fall back approaching the 1000 Metres.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of CLASSIC CHARGE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and tightening ONE TRACK MINDED (Gaurav Sapra) on his inside passing the 700 Metres.
Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following I, II and III placed horses viz:

7th Race: 111. The Manjri Stud Plate - (About) 1600 Metres.
Horses rated 60 to 85 (10 Runners)
Jockey D.Gnaneshwar, the rider of THE LAST SAMURAI, was fined R.1,000/- for shifting in and inconveniencing ALL MY COLOURS (Vivek) which in turn shifted inwards causing CASSANDRA (Ryan Marshall) to check his mount approaching the 900 Metres.
Jockey S John, the rider of CONCEPTUAL was reprimanded for exulting before passing the winning post.
8th Race: 112. The Honeyday Plate - (About) 1200 Metres.
For horses rated 20 to 45 (12 Runners)
Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of GARA FLUID, was fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting out and causing severe interference to CHESTERFORD TOUCH (Gaurav Sapra) and bumping SHE'S BIG (V R Jagdeesh) soon after the start.
Jockey Khurshad Alam, while weighing out to ride SARATOGA was found to be using a body protector of the standard not approved by the Stewards. An enquiry has been opened into this incident.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Neeraj Rawal the rider of SEMPER EADEM to the Stewards for careless riding (Rule 161 (i) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in that he shifted in shortly after the start and caused SARATOGA (Khurshad Alam) to strike SEMPER EADEM's heels and stumble. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and interviewed Trainer Mr.S. Narredu, spokesman for Jockey Neeraj Rawal and Jockey Khurshad Alam. After deliberations, they decided to suspend Jockey Neeraj Rawal from riding in races from 8th July 2009 to 12th July 2009 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (Rule 161 (i) of the BTC Rules of Racing) on his mount SEMPER EADEM (permitted to ride work).

ADDITIONAL REPORT
TWELFTH DAY, SUNDAY 21ST JUNE 2009
Race No.90 The Bukit Timah Plate, Handicap for horses rated 00 to 25, 4 years
old and over (About) 1400 Metres.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of PRINCE NORBERT trained
by Mr. B.Puttanna and ridden by Jockey C.Krishnan. After due enquiry their
explanations were noted for future reference. Further Jockey C.Krishnan was
fined Rs.3000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount (Prince Norbert)
during the race (2nd Infringement).
