RACING INCIDENTS 
(160 - 167)

                         (False Rails: Average width of 3 Metres from
                     1600 Metres to 1000 Metres and 6 Metres
                             from 1000 Metres to the Winning Post)


1st  Race:  160. The Azhar Plate -  (About) 1100 Metres. Horses 
 rated 20 to 45 (11 Runners).

Jockey M.D. Praveen, the rider of AMBER STAR, was reprimanded for taking an unduly long lead in the first 400 Metres of the race. 

Jockey S. John, the rider of SPARK OF SALERNO, was fined Rs.2,000/- for inconveniencing SHOWHORSE (A.R. Mani) on his outside approaching the 200 Metres. 

Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was questioned regarding the running of his charge SOUTHERN IMAGE. The trainer stated that:
(a)	horse had suffered an injury that is why had used bandages on hind; 
(b)	had asked  the Jockey not to punish the horse;
(c)	push the horse hands and heels in the straight;
(d)	was not happy with the riding; and
(e)	Jockey had very little ability in pushing 
Jockey M. Suresh stated that;
(a)	gave two cracks in the straight;
(b)	trainer asked to be liberal in the use of whip;
(c)	did his best in the end; and
(d)	horse was erratic with the use of whip 

The Stipendiary Stewards after hearing the explanations tendered by the Trainer and Jockey and not being satisfied with the explanations tendered by the Trainer decided to fine the trainer Rs.3,000/- for unsatisfactory explanations and fine Jockey M. Suresh, the rider of SOUTHERN IMAGE, Rs.2,000/-for not persevering with his mount during the race. 

ALLEGRO (S. Chandrashekar) burst its blood vessels after the race. Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. 

Jockey S. John and trainer Mr. Prasanna Kumar were questioned regarding the running and riding of SPARK OF SALERNO. The trainer stated that he had asked the rider to ride from a forward position and if some other horse would chase him to ride from the 2nd/ 3rd position and do his best in the straight. After viewing the CCTV replay he was of the opinion that his rider should have improved his position between the 800 Metres and 400 Metres and should have used the whip at least another 4 to 5 times in the straight.  The Jockey stated that his mount did not have the initial speed and that is why he could not ride from a forward position and also did not wish to hassle  his mount from the 700 Metres to the 500 Metres while climbing the hill and rounding the final bend. He gave his mount all the chances and rode it out from 400 Metres and did his best in the straight to win the race.  Their explanations were noted for future reference.

YOURE CHILUBULI (P.S. Chouhan) sustained a gum injury

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g REAL GLADIATOR. 

2nd Race:  161. The Manitou Trophy - (About) 1200 Metres. 
 Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who
 have run at least thrice but not placed second, third
or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (8 Runners).

Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of ICE MINT, reported that his mount was lugging in under pressure in the final stages of the race. 

SUPER SPECTACLE (V.R. Jagadeesh) sustained an injury on left hind fetlock. 

3rd  Race:  162. The Chantille Plate - (About) 1200 Metres.
                   Horses rated 00 to 25  (12 Runners).

STORM CHASER (P.S. Chouhan) jumped awkwardly outwards and inconvenienced COUELLE (Imran Chisty) soon after the start. 

FREEDOM FIGHTER (Mohammed Shoaib) jumped awkwardly outwards and inconvenienced CUTE ANGEL (S. Chandrashekar) soon after the start. 

Jockey T. Rahul, the rider of SMART COOKY, was fined Rs.2,000/- for accepting two rides in the same race. Subsequently he was permitted to ride SMART COOKY. 

PERSIAN ROCK (B. Prakash) rolled in causing FLASHING CROWN (Suraj Narredu) to be eased approaching the 725 Metres

FLASHING CROWN (Suraj Narredu) was observed to be running erratic in the final stages of the race. 

JOANNA (Himanshu) ran detached from the field.  Trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla was questioned regarding the continued poor performance of his charge.  The trainer stated that he would use tongue strap  in the next start and run his charge over 7 furlongs. However, he was informed to ensure better performance of his charge . 

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of FLASHING CROWN, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement).

4th  Race:  163. The Jerry Can Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
                   Horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners).

SUNNY'S SYMPHONY (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped SPARK OF BRONTE (S. Chandrashekar) soon after the start. 

Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of TICKET TO RIDE, reported that his mount accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 900 Metres. 

BID FOR GLORY (Gaurav Sapra) burst its blood vessels after the race. Trainer Mr. Amit Caddy was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. 

Trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal and Jockey Suraj Narredu were questioned regarding the running and riding of CAYENNE.  The Jockey stated that his mount was running over 7 furlongs for the first time and that is the reason he kept his mount covered in 3rd / 4th position and also as it had a short burst he saved her till the final 350 Metres and then spurted, but his mount did not respond on urging.  She did not quicken when asked for an effort and he was of the opinion that his mount was better over 1200 Metres. The trainer corroborated the statement of the Jockey and further added that he would run it in a 1200 Metres race. Their explanations were noted for future reference.  

5th  Race:  164. The J.B. Mallaradhya Memorial Cup - (About)
                  1400 Metres.  Horses rated 80 and above 
                  (8 Runners).

STYLISH BAY (Suraj Narredu) accidentally clipped the heels of AFEA (K.P.G. Appu) dragging that horse down behind for several strides, approaching the 800 Metres, thereby STYLISH BAY had to check and fall back. In the process TOMSK (S. John) which was traveling directly behind STYLISH BAY (Suraj Narredu) had to also check his  mount and fall back. 

Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of AFEA, was reprimanded for slowing down the pace from 1000 Metres to 800 Metres for no apparent reason.

Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of MILFORD, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement).

AFEA (K.P.G. Appu) sustained cut injury on left hind fetlock. 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch c TOMSK. 

6th  Race:  165. The Nawab Sultan Ali Khan Memorial Plate -
                  (About) 1600 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 4 years
                  old and over (10 Runners).

Jockey B. Sreekanth, the rider of DUCKWORTH, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to SPANDAU BALLET (Suraj Narredu) which in turn passed it on to MYSTIC STAR (Harish) approaching the 400 Metres. 

Jockey S. John, the rider of EXPRESS IT, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and inconveniencing HENRY'S SECRET (P.S. Chouhan) passing the 300 Metres. 

Jockey P.S. Chouhan, the rider of HENRY'S SECRET, was fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting in and inconveniencing the horses on his inside  viz. EXPRESS IT (S. John), NOBLE KINGDOM (B. Prakash) and SHISHAM (Vinod Shinde) passing the 200 Metres.  

7th  Race:  166. The Brave Dancer Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
 Horses rated 20 to 45  (12 Runners).

CHESTERFORD TOUCH (Vivek) veered inwards inconveniencing ALARIC (P.S. Chouhan)  soon after the start. 

PHENOMENAL STRIDES (R.Koch) shifted out at 1150 Meters bumping CONSTANCE (Gaurav Sapra).

Jockey P.S. Chouhan, the rider of ALARIC, was fined Rs.3,000/- for  shifting inwards and crowding  PHENOMENAL STRIDES (R. Koch), ROYAL LEGEND (M.D. Praveen) and SUPERLATIVO (S. Chandrashekar)  on his inside soon after the start.

Jockey Vivek, the rider of CHESTERFORD TOUCH, reported that his mount shied out and bumped HURRICANE BOLT (Wayne Smith) who had to check and fall back approaching the 900 Metres.

ROYAL LEGEND (M.D. Praveen) was observed to have dropped his whip approaching the 250 Metres. Jockey M.D. Praveen was fined Rs.1,000/- for not reporting the incident to the Stipendiary Stewards. 

CHESTERFORD TOUCH (Vivek) was examined and found to have injuries on corners of the mouth. 

ROYAL LEGEND (M. D. Praveen) sustained a bleeding cut injury on left fore cannon 

8th Race:  167. The Snow Dew Plate- (About) 1400 Metres. 
 Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who
 have run at least thrice but not placed second, third
or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (12 Runners).

BRIGADE'S PRIDE (Suraj Narredu) stumbled soon after  jumping out of the starting gates. 

Jockey M.A. Milan, the rider of CHRONICLE, was fined Rs.3,000/- for not exercising sufficient control over his mount in that soon after jumping out he shifted in and bumped CRIMINAL LAWYER (Imran Chisty) and further allowed his mount to veer out violently and caused severe interference to MY MUSKETEER (G. Vijay) passing the 1200 Metres. 

SACHIN (N. Harsha) was very erratic in the first 400 Metres of the race in that he bumped BRIGADE'S PRIDE (Suraj Narredu) and shifted inwards and brushed the false rails, further went on to  BRIGADE'S PRIDE (Suraj Narredu) which in turn passed in on to APPROACH (Gaurav Sapra)  on his outside passing the   1000 Metres. On questioning, the Jockey stated that inspite of his best efforts the horse was very erratic.  The trainer stated that this horse is a difficult horse to ride and is very erratic in his behaviour. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. B. Puttanna was advised not to race his charge SACHIN for a period of at least one month and also not before he is confident of his charges behaviour in the race keeping the safety of the field as matter of prime importance.

Jockey S. John, the rider of SPARK OF JOY, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and inconveniencing CRIMINAL LAWYER (Imran Chisty) approaching the 200 Metres. 

Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh, the rider of FLOWER ALLEY, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and inconveniencing CRIMINAL LAWYER (Imran Chisty) approaching the 100 Metres. 

SACHIN (N. Harsha) sustained cut injuries on left hind fetlock and pastern. 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch f FLOWER ALLEY.
