1st Race: 185. The Bold Gesture Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400
Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45 (9 Runners).

SOUTHERN KING (Afsar Khan) stumbled at the start.

Jockey Vivek, the rider of NORTHERN SPLENDOUR reported that his mount was lugging in throughout the race.

NORTHERN SPLENDOUR (Vivek) veered out and inconvenienced THUMPING VICTORY (F.K. Shabuddin) approaching the 1000 Metres.

Trainer Mr. F. Sirajuddin was fined Rs.2,000/- for not obtaining prior permission for the use of bandage on the left hind of his charge THUMPING VICTORY.

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of ALLURING, reported that his mount was running green in the straight.

Jockey B. Sreekanth, the rider of SOUTHERN STYLE, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 200 Metres.

ATTATURK (J.H. Christopher) sustained gum injury.

CLASSIC COMMANDER (B. Prakash) sustained a cut injury on left hind pastern.

SUNNY CONNEXION (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) sustained an injury on left hind (Gaskin).

2nd Race: 186. The Udhagamandalam Plate - (About) 1100
Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25 (9 Runners).

SIMPLY PHENOMENAL (Suraj Narredu) shifted out and bumped VOICE OF INDIA (Afsar Khan) which in turn bumped SECRET GIRL (F.K. Shabuddin) passing the 1000 Metres.

LEADING LADY (B. Sreekanth) shifted outwards passing the 1000 Metres, HAUTE APPEAL (D. Mahendran) which was travelling directly behind, clipped the heels and stumbled.

Jockey Afsar Khan, the rider of VOICE OF INDIA, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement).

SMART COOKY (T. Rahul) was examined and found to have sustained injuries (buccal) on the corner of the mouth on either side.

CHAITANYA JYOTHI (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) sustained an injury on left hock.

HAUTE APPEAL (D. Mahendran) sustained a cut injury on right knee.

3rd Race: 187. The Bold Gesture Plate - Div.I - (About) 1400
Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45 (8 Runners).

BEST TIME (Suraj Narredu) planted and ran detached from the field. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. S. Narredu was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in two Mock Races on race days on the race track.

MIND ME (Afsar Khan) lost a few lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one jump out on a starting gate practice day.

Jockey Himanshu and trainer Mr. Samar Singh were questioned regarding the riding and running of NEARCO DANCER. When asked Jockey stated that his instructions were not to use the whip more as the horse gets erratic. Trainer stated that he had instructed the rider to use the whip judiciously as the horse had reacted violently to the use of whip in the previous outing. Their explanations were noted for future reference.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch c LOWNDES SQUARE.

4th Race: 188. The Bangalore City Gold Cup (Grade III) -
(About) 1200 Metres. Indian Horses 3 years old and
over (Terms) (6 Runners).

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of AQUITAINE, reported that his mount was galloping in snatches in the straight. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. The Veterinary Officer reported that it was found to have sustained an injury on right buccal wall.

DIAMOND HUNTER (K.P.G. Appu) took out AQUITAINE (Suraj Narredu) approaching the 800 Metres.

SPIRITUALL (M. Narredu) checked of the heels of AQUITAINE (Suraj Narredu) passing the 600 Metres.

Trainer Mr. S.S. Attaollahi was questioned regarding the poor performance of his charge AQUITAINE. He stated that he could not find any specific reason for the poor performance of his charge. Trainer was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and advised to keep it under veterinary observation and inform the Stipendiary Stewards any ailment noticed on his charge within the next 48 hours. The Veterinary Officer reported that on 31-7-2009 after the last race at 6.10 p.m. it was found that AQUITAINE was found to be trotting stiff on both hind. Trainer Mr. S.S. Attaollahi was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following I, II and III placed horses viz:

5th Race: 189. The Patrons Cup - (About) 2000 Metres.
Horses rated 40 to 65 (9 Runners).

Jockey S.Shiva Kumar, the rider of VIVACITY, was fined Rs.2,000/- for taking an unduly long lead from the 1400 Metres to 500 Metres.

Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of PORTOBELLO, reported that he could not get a clear run rounding the final bend.

TABLE MOUNTAIN (Imran Chisty) shifted out and bumped DANTE'S PEAK (Wayne Smith) approaching the 200 Metres.

Jockey S.Shiva Kumar, the rider of VIVACITY, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to LIVE IT UP (Md. Shafiq) approaching the 150 Metres.

6th Race: 190. The Track Lightning Trophy - (About) 1200
Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (8 Runners).

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan to withdraw MIGHTY MONARCH (P.S. Chouhan) on veterinary grounds as it was examined at 4.45 p.m. and found to be trotting lame on left fore. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

RUMOUR PROOF (Wayne Smith) and ROYAL INVADER (Suraj Narredu) bumped each other soon after the start.

SWEET SURRENDER (Gaurav Sapra) sustained gum injury.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f NATOUCHKA.

7th Race: 191. The Doaba Stud Plate - (About) 1800 Metres.
Horses rated 60 to 85 (11 Runners).

Jockey P.S. Chouhan was questioned regarding his riding on ALGIERS. He stated that soon after jumping out of the gates he found himself in the last position. Due to the kick back, the visibility was poor, so he chose to ride from wherever he was and he did his best in the straight.

161. The Manitou Trophy - (About) 1200 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms)

The following trainers are fined Rs.500/- each for making errors in the scratching forms in respect of their charges:

168. The Batu Gantong Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 4 years old and over

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh, the rider of GREAT CHIEFTAN, to the Stewards for contravention of Rule No.159(b) in that he failed to take his mount out from behind MEXIKAN WAVE from the 300 Metres and failed to use an acceptable level of vigour including use of whip over the final 100 Metres. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on 31-7-2009 and interviewed Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh and Mr. B. Puttanna, trainer of the horse. After deliberations, they decided to (a) warn trainer Mr. B. Puttanna severely regarding the running of his charges in future while noting the explanation tendered by him and (b) suspend Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh from riding in races from 10-8-2009 to 9-11-2009 (both days inclusive) for contravention of Rule No.159(b) on his mount GREAT CHIEFTAN in the above race (not permitted to ride work).

169. The Squanderer Trophy-Div.II-(About) 1100 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey S. John, the rider of DEVIL GRANDMA to the Stewards for riding an ill judged race (contravention of Calendar Notification ) in that he rode an ill judged race by allowing ALL RISE to improve on his inside thereby disadvantaging his mount by allowing it to race wide from the 800 Metres, restraining back behind ALL RISE and shifting onto the fence near the 675 Metres. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on 31-7-2009 and interviewed Mr. A.K.S. Brar, spokesman for Jockey S. John, Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar, trainer of the horse. After deliberations, they decided to (a) note the explanations tendered by trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar and (b) suspend Jockey S. John from riding in races from 10-8-2009 to 14-8-2009 (both days inclusive) and fine him a sum of Rs.5,000/- for riding an ill judged race on his mount DEVIL GRANDMA in the above race (permitted to ride work).
