RACING INCIDENTS

Going : Good Penetrometer Reading : 3.6 Cms
(False Rails: Average width of 3 Metres from 1600 Metres to 1000 Metres and 5 Metres from 1000 Metres to the winning post)
1st Race : 18. The Glorious Colours Plate - Div.II-(About) 1400 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) - (Terms) (8 Runners)
CORBETT QUEEN (H.G. Rathod) stumbled approaching the 900 Metres whereby the rider got unbalanced and was dislodged from his mount.
Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of COWBOY CAL, reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.
After the race the Club's Veterinary Officer reported that on examination it was observed that the right fore shoe and right hind shoe of CORBETT QUEEN (H.G. Rathod) had come off during the race.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c ARYA VEER.
2nd Race : 19. The Glorious Colours Plate - Div.I-(About) 1400 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) - (Terms) (8 Runners)
BACK AMONG FRIENDS (P.S. Chouhan) jumped awkwardly inwards from the gates thereby inconveniencing GLUTEUS MAXIMUS (Imran Chisty), ATHABASCA STAR (Ryan Marshall) and HARD TO PIN DOWN (Suraj Narredu) on the inside.
SPARK OF ATAN (R. Rupesh) sustained cut injuries on left hip and right nose.
3rd Race: 20. The Bhishma Plate - Div.II - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45 (11 Runners).
SERAPH (Gaurav Sapra) stumbled while jumping out of the starting gates.
ALLEGRO (S. Mallikarjun) sustained cut injury on left hind cannon.
ART CONNOISSEUR (A. Imran Khan) sustained cut injury on right hind cannon.
Trainer Mr. L D'Silva and Jockey A. Imran Khan were questioned regarding the running and riding of ART CONNOISSEUR. The trainer stated that (a) based on its past performance at Hyderabad he had specifically instructed the rider to settle his charge in the front bunch; (b) make his run along the rails as it has the tendency to shift out; (c) ride out after entering the straight; (d) as per his observation the rider while settling his mount was covered by other riders passing the 900 Metres and fell back and made his move after passing the 600 Metres and rode out fully in the straight to finish 2nd; (e) and that under the circumstances he would give the benefit of doubt to the rider. The rider while corroborating the riding instructions added that he was well up with the front runners till about the 900 Metres whereafter he was covered by other runners passing the 900 Metres as the pace slowed down and since he was committed to the rails run he had to momentarily check his mount and drop back. He added that he rode out from the 600 Metres onwards but could finish only 2nd. Their explanations were noted .
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from ch g AMBER STAR.
4th Race: 21. The Dharmaprakasha L.S. Venkajirao Memorial Cup Div.I - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (8 Runners)
Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the starting declaration in respect of his charge ATLANTUS as regards shoeing.
Trainer Mr. Z. Darashah was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the starting declaration in respect of his charge ASHKAN as regards shoeing.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f ASTRAL FLASH.
5th Race: 22. The Speaker's Cup - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85 (12 Runners)
Trainer Mr. M.B. Mangalorkar was fined Rs.500/- for failing to produce the declared coloured cap at the scales in respect of his charge ALGIERS. Subsequently the correct coloured cap was used.
ALGIERS (M.F. Ali Khan) was slowly away, did not raise a fluent gallop.
The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. After the last race the
Club's Veterinary Officer reported that ALGIERS pulled up lame on left fore due
to sprained fetlock joint. Trainer Mr. M.B. Mangalorkar was informed that he
must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before
accepting with it again.
GREENS (A. Ashok Kumar) accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 1000 Metres.
TOPKAPI (Harish) was observed to be lugging in under pressure during the last 200 Metres.
6th Race: 23. The Dharmaprakasha L.S. Venkajirao Memorial Cup Div.I - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (8 Runners)
SPOT ON (P.S. Chouhan) sustained a cut injury on left hind coronet.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g JERSEY PRIDE.
7th Race: 24. The Bhishma Plate - Div.I - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20
to 45 (11 Runners).
WALNUT CREEK (Imran Chisty) collided with the false rails approaching the
1100 Metres, was totally unbalanced and dislodged the rider. On being questioned
after the race Jockey Imran Chisty stated that his mount was running erratic
approaching the 1100 Metres and despite his efforts collided with the false
rails whereby he was unseated from his mount. In view of its behaviour trainer
Mr. L D'Silva was informed that he must not accept with it again until its
behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock
Race on a race day on the race track.
WALNUT CREEK (Imran Chisty) sustained cut injuries on left fore cannon and
bleeding cut injury on left gaskin.
8th Race : 25. The Divine Light Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) - (Terms) (12 Runners)
Trainer Mr. Prasanna Kumar was fined Rs.500/- for failing to produce the declared colours at the scales in respect of his charge SPARK OF PASSION. Subsequently `all black' emergency colours were permitted to be used.
QUEENS COLOUR (S.A. Shah) jumped awkwardly outwards from the starting gates and inconvenienced CARLA (J.G. Sampson) on the outside.
Jockey J.G. Sampson, the rider of CARLA, was fined Rs.1,000/- for coming in and causing interference to THUNDERING DON (Ch.K. Chary) on his inside before passing the red marker post.
Jockey Ch.K. Chary, the rider of THUNDERING DON was fined Rs.1,000/- for
shifting out and causing interference to STUD MUFFIN (M. Mark) on his outside
passing the 1000 Metres.

Permission was granted to trainers M/s.Samar Singh and Darius Byramji to
deputise on behalf of trainers M/s. J.S. Pillay and L.V.R. Deshmukh who were
unable to attend the races.
