1st Race: 183. The Star Contender Plate - (About) 1400
Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 5 years old and over
(11 Runners).

Jockey R. Vaideeshwaran, the rider of SURPRISESUCCEEDING, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement).

Jockey S. John, the rider of SAVVY CONCEPT, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement).

ROYAL PRODIGY (Valdir De Sousa) sustained a cut injury on left hock.

2nd Race: 184. The Squanderer Trophy - (About) 1100
Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible (Terms) (11 Runners).

MANY WISHES (R. Vaibhav) after jumping out, swerved towards the left and lost many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr. Samar Singh was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

Jockey A. Ashok Kumar, the rider of AARON MASCOT, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 300 Metres.

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of AMAZON BAY, reported that his mount was hanging out in the straight. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination, but no abnormality was reported. However, Trainer Mr. S. Narredu was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.

Jockey Syed Asgar, the rider of DELILAH, was reprimanded for riding an indifferent race.

Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f AMALFI.

3rd Race: 185. The Poonawalla Stud Plate - Div.II - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85, 4 years old and over (10 Runners).

As Jockey S. Mallikarjun was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar to substitute Jockey Nasir Imam to ride ICE MINT, in place of the declared rider.

It was observed that INVINCIBLE SHOT (Ryan Marshall) accidentally, brushed the false rails approaching the 1000 Metres.

Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of STAR PRESENCE, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 400 Metres.

4th Race: 186. The Col. Rajkumar C. Desraj Urs Memorial Cup Div.II - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old and over (13 Runners).

SENOR SPEEDY (Imran Chisty) accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 1000 Metres.

It was observed that approaching the 600 Metres CAPRIOSKA (K.P.G. Appu) hit the base of the false rails thereby totally unbalancing the rider and had to be checked by its rider. SENOR SPEEDY (Imran Chisty) and ROYAL SURPRISE (Valdir De Sousa) which were travelling directly behind also had to be checked by their respective riders.

It was reported after the race that FLAME BACK (M. Prabhakaran) pulled up lame on left fore due to sprained tendon. Trainer Mr. Neil Darashah was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

It was reported after the race that NEVER SAY GOODBYE (P.S. Chouhan) pulled up lame on left fore due to sprained fetlock joint. Trainer Mr. Darius R Byramji (deputising for Trainer Mr. R.R. Byramji) was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b m ROYAL SURPRISE.

5th Race: 187. The Poonawalla Stud Plate - Div.I - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85, 4 years old and over (10 Runners).

Jockey R. Vaideeshwaran, the rider of ROMANCE IN THE AIR, was fined Rs.3,000/- for coming in and causing interference to THOUGHTS N ACTIONS (S. John) on his inside approaching the 1000 Metres and again for shifting out and causing interference to THOUGHTS N ACTIONS (S. John) approaching the 150 Metres.

6th Race: 188. The Bangalore Summer Million (Grade III) - (About) 1600 Metres, for 3-year-old Indian Horses (Foaled in 2009) (Terms) (9 Runners).

It was reported after the race that RATHAM (S. John) burst its blood vessel during the race. Trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following I, II and III placed horses viz.:

7th Race: 189. The Col. Rajkumar C. Desraj Urs Memorial Cup Div.I - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old and over (11 Runners).

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar to withdraw METHODICAL on veterinary grounds as it was observed to be walking lame on right fore due to sprained knee. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Jockey P. Trevor, the rider of SUPER SURPRISE, was fined Rs.1,000/-for shifting in and causing interference to KRIPA (S. John) on his inside passing the 600 Metres.

It was reported after the race that SUPER SURPRISE (P. Trevor) pulled up lame on left fore due to sprained fetlock joint and also burst its blood vessels during the race. Trainer Mr. S. Dominic was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

It was reported after the race that the left fore shoe of KRIPA (S. John) had apparently splayed during the race.

Jockey A. Imran Khan, the rider of ATLAS POWER, was reprimanded for looking back in the final stages of the race for no apparent reason.

Routine Sample was taken for anlaysis from the winner b g ATLAS POWER.

8th Race: 190. The Allied Forces Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over (12 Runners).

As Jockey Bhanu P Singh was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. J.S, Dhariwal to substitute Jockey Shanawaz to ride ALADDIN in place of the declared rider.

ASPECT OF LOVE (B. Sreekanth) took a fly jump.

Jockey Valdir De Sousa, the rider of TRILLION WIN, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to ASTONISHING (A.Ashok Kumar) and WALTZ AWAY (T.S. Jodha) soon after jumping out of the starting gate.

Jockey S. John, the rider of THE SITUATION, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to TRILLION WIN (Valdir De Sousa) on his inside approaching the 1000 Metres.

Jockey Irvan Singh, the rider of LITTLE LION, was fined Rs.1,000/- for causing interference to ASPECT OF LOVE (B. Sreekanth) on his outside rounding the final bend.

Jockey Syed Asgar, the rider of GENERAL BATLA, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and taking out JAVANICA (R. Vaideeshwaran) approaching the 800 Metres.

Jockey T.S. Jodha,the rider of WALTZ AWAY, reported that his mount was hanging out in the straight. Trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar was informed to take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.

It was reported after the race that the left fore shoe of GENERAL BATLA (Syed Asgar) had apparently come off during the race.

ALADDIN (Shahanawaz) sustained gum injury.

RAJA'S PET (P.S. Chouhan) sustained cut injury on right fore cannon and right gaskin.

ASTONISHING (A. Ashok Kumar) sustained a cut injury on inner bulb of heel.

Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch g RISING SUN.

9th Race: 191. The Brave Dancer Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45 (15 Runners).

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar to substitute Jockey G. Adarsh to ride FRAME PARTNER in place of Jockey S. Mallikarjun, the declared rider.

Jockey R. Vaibhav, the rider of SYMBOL OF SUCCESS, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to AFTERNOON DELIGHT (R. Vaideeshwaran) on his outside approaching the 1200 Metres.

Jockey R. Vaideeshwaran, the rider of AFTERNOON DELIGHT, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to SYMBOL OF SUCCESS (R. Vaibhav) on his inside approaching the 900 Metres.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f SUSSEX DOWNS.

The complaint dated 15-7-2012 received from Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj pertaining to the riding of Jockey Vivek on his charge SALSA TOUCH was considered. After viewing the CCTV replay of the race and after examining Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj and Jockey Vivek, it was decided not to proceed further in the matter beyond noting the complaint of Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj.

ORDER OF THE BOARD OF APPEAL

ELEVENTH DAY, SATURDAY, 23RD JUNE, 2012

95. The Regency Stud Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses
rated 60 to 85

I. The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on Friday, 27th July 2012, considered the appeal dated 27th June 2012 filed by Jockey Anjar Alam against the decision of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., in withdrawing his Jockey's Licence from 16-7-2012 to 15-12-2012 for contravention of Rule No.159(b) of the BTC Rules of Racing in connection with his riding on his mount HILLFIGER in the above said race.

The Board noted that the punishment imposed on Jockey Anjar Alam had been stayed until his appeal was heard and disposed of by the Board.

In this connection, the Board considered the following:

(a) The copy of the Minutes of the meeting of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., dated 24-6-2012 and 26-6-2012

(b) The grounds of appeal dated 25-7-2012 furnished by Jockey Anjar Alam;

The Board examined Jockey Anjar Alam and Mr. Irfan Ghatala, the trainer of the horse. After deliberations, the Board decided to:

(I) partially allow his appeal;
(II) modify the period of punishment in that his Jockey's
licence shall stand withdrawn from 1-8-2012 to 31-10-2012 for
contravention of Rule 159(b) of the BTC Rules of Racing in connection
with his riding on his mount HILLFIGER in the above said race.
(III) forfeit the fee paid by him towards the appeal.

II. The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on Friday, 27th July 2012, considered the appeal dated 27th June 2012 filed by Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala against the decision of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., in withdrawing his Trainer's Licence from 16-7-2012 to 15-1-2013 for contravention of Rule Nos.114(b)(i) & 159 (a) of the BTC Rules of Racing in connection with the running of his charge HILLFIGER in the above said race.

The Board noted that the punishment imposed on Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala had been stayed until his appeal was heard and disposed of by the Board.

In this connection, the Board considered the following:

(a) The copy of the Minutes of the meeting of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., dated 24-6-2012 and 26-6-2012

The Board examined Mr. Ajit Srinivasan, Spokesman for Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala and Mr. Irfan Ghatala himself. After deliberations, the Board decided to:

(I) partially allow his appeal;

(II) modify the period of punishment in that his Trainer's
licence shall stand withdrawn from 1-8-2012 to 31-10-2012 for
contravention of Rule Nos.114(b)(i) & 159 (a) of the BTC
Rules of Racing in connection with the running of his
charge HILLFIGER in the above said race.

(III) forfeit the fee paid by him towards the appeal.

ORDER OF THE STEWARDS

The Stewards at their Meeting held after the last race on 22nd July 2012, considered the report by the Stipendiary Stewards regarding the matter pertaining to Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala through his Assistant attempting to bring in and stable two unregistered 2 year olds inside the premises of BTC thereby violating the instructions of the Stewards dated 31-10-2011 pertaining to stable allotment of 2 year olds.

They examined Mr. Mir Azhar Ali, Assistant Trainer of Mr. Irfan Ghatala, Mr. Nirmal Singh and concerned officials of BTC. After deliberation and after having considered the evidence tendered by the concerned, the Stewards decided to fine Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala a total sum of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) for attempting to bring in and stable two 2 year olds inside the premises of BTC without registering the same in advance, thereby violating the instructions of the Stewards dated 31-10-2011 pertaining to stable allotment of 2 year olds.
