 Penetrometer Reading : 3.8  Cms

 False Rails: Average width of 6.5 Metres from 1600 Metres to the winning post.  

 1st Race:   99. The Churchill Downs  Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 5 years old and over (9 Runners).

 BERNICIA (Arshad Alam) which was fractious in the stall reared up as the gates opened whereby the rider lost his left stirrup which he regained near 1100 Metres, and also lost a few lengths at the start.  In view of its behaviour Trainer Mr. Warren Singh was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one jump out on a starting gate practice day.  

Approaching the 950 Metres the shoulder of SAYYONEE (T.S. Jodha) brushed the hind quarters of FORTUNATE ONE (S. Zervan) resulting  in the mare becoming unbalanced and laid in which caused SAYYONEE (T.S. Jodha) to check as a result ICEPICK WILLIE (Suraj Narredu) was inconvenienced by this incident.

 INSPIRATOR (Vivek) was impounded for veterinary examination and was found to have sharp molars on both sides of the lower jaw. Hence Trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla was fined Rs.3,000/- for his negligence (1st infringement).

 FORTUNATE ONE (S. Zervan) was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported other than a cut injury on left hind cannon.

 ICEPICK WILLIE (Suraj Narredu) was impounded for veterinary examination. On examination the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that it   burst its blood vessels.  Trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g ICEPICK WILLIE.

 Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dk b m JEWEL LADY.

 2nd Race:    100. The Royal Tern Plate Div.II  - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over  (9 Runners)

 Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj to withdraw BLUES LEGEND (V. Chandrakant) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be lame on right fore.  He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 SEVEN OF HEARTS (M. Kumar) planted, lost many lengths at the start and ran detached thereafter.   Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behavior improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track. 

 SWEET ANGEL (B. Harish) which brushed the inside gate on jumping away pulled up lame on left hind and also sustained a cut injury on left hind cannon.  Trainer Mr. J. Babu Rao was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 Trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad and Jockey A. Imran Khan were questioned over the disappointing performance of STIMULATOR.  Both were of the opinion that even though the colt had been working well he did not appreciate the extra distance and the step up in class as he was tiring at the 150 Metres. Their explanations were noted. STIMULATOR was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

 Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b m CATCH THE EYE.

3rd Race:     101. The N.M. Lingaraju Memorial Cup  – (About) 1400 Metres Horses rated 20 to 45 (8 Runners)

 LUCKY THIRTEEN (G. Adarsh) was extremely fractious and refused to remain in the stalls.  Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer Mr. V Narayana Gowda was informed to give the gelding adequate Gate practice. 

 BRONZINO (M. Rajesh Kumar) planted and lost many lengths at the start.  In view of its behaviour Trainer Mr. V Narayana Gowda was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

 RAPID ADVANCE (Imran Chisty) was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

 Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch c MYSTIC MUSIC.

 4th Race:   102. The H.B. Gundappa Gowda Memorial Trophy -  (About) 1100 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible (10 Runners)

ROMANTIC KING (K. Anil) was slowly away, lost few lengths at the start and ran detached thereafter.  In view of its behavior Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one jump out on a starting gate practice day.

Jockey B. Harish, the rider of CARBONADO reported that he lost his whip passing the 250 Metres.

ROMANTIC KING (K. Anil) was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

Jockey A.R. Pradeep, the rider of FOREST TERN, reported that he could not get a clear run in the final stages of the race.  

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of GOOD FRUIT trained by Mr. B. Prithviraj and ridden by Jockey J.H. Christopher. Jockey Christopher said that the filly was a little slow to move when the gates were released and thereafter kept throwing its head in the air racing ungenerously.  He added that in the straight GOOD FRUIT made ground under his riding but kept holding her head up high.  Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj said the horse has a habit of doing this in track work and he has experimented with various bits Mr. Prithviraj was told to rectify this trait before starting GOOD FRUIT again. The filly was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f ANDINA.

5th Race:     103. The Kumararajah M.A.M. Muthiah Cup  – (About) 1200 Metres Horses rated 40 to 65 (9 Runners)

Trainer Mr. Darius R Byramji was fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to produce the declared colours at the scales in respect of his charge NIMFEA (D.K. Ashish).  Subsequently ‘all black’ emergency colours were permitted to be used.

NIMFEA (D.K. Ashish) and RUMOUR HAS IT (Yash Narredu) brushed at the start.

Near the 200 Metres RED RED ROSE (T.S. Jodha) shifted in causing TEMUJIN (Arshad Alam) to ease slightly.  Jockey T.S. Jodha was reprimanded that he should keep a straight course in future.

RED RED ROSE (T.S. Jodha) sustained cut injury on right hock.

6th Race:    104. The Royal Tern Plate Div.I  - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 4 years old and over  (10 Runners)

TRUMAN (M. Noornabi) was slowly away.

Jockey Anjar Alam, the rider of SPANISH FLY, reported that he accidentally struck the false rails passing the 800 Metres as a result his right stirrup iron broke and he could not offer much assistance to his mount thereafter.

Jockey S. John, the rider of SHINNECOCK HILLS was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in and causing DELILAH (Suraj Narredu) to be steadied on his inside passing the 350 Metres.

Near the 300 Metres MAGIC WAVE (M. Rajesh Kumar) blundered.

It was reported after the race that CASH MY WAY (Yash Narredu) pulled up lame on left fore.  Trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c SHINNECOCK HILLS.

7th Race:    105. The Epsom Plate  - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 5 years old and over (Whips not allowed)  (9 Runners)

 

Jockey R. Anand, the rider of CARDUCCI, was fined Rs.1,000/- for coming in and causing interference to A GAME TO REMEMBER (S.K. Paswan) on his inside approaching the 800 Metres.

89. The Red Divine  Plate Div.I - (About) 1200 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible)

 The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey P. Kiran Rai, the rider of ETERNAL DESIRE for unsatisfactory riding, [Rule No. 161 (ii) of the BTC Rules of Racing] in the above race. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on Saturday, 5th July 2014 and examined Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj and Jockey P. Kiran Rai.  After deliberations, the Stewards decided to (a) severely caution Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj  as to the explanation tendered by him during the enquiry; and (b) suspend the Jockey’s licence granted to Jockey P. Kiran Rai from 16-7--2014 to 1-8-2014 (both days inclusive)  for Unsatisfactory Riding [Rule No. 161(ii) of the BTC Rules of Racing] in that he restrained his mount ETERNAL DESIRE so as not to obtain a forward position in the above race (permitted to ride work).

 

FOURTEENTH   DAY,  SUNDAY,  29TH  JUNE, 2014

 

95. The Juvenile Sprinters’ Million (Grade III) (About) 1200 Metres. 3 year old Indian Horses (Foaled in 2011)

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey K. Anil, the rider of TOPSPOT for careless riding, [Rule No. 161 (i) of the BTC Rules of Racing] in that “Near the 250 Metres whilst riding TOPSPOT along he shifted out sharply causing HONEYMOON (S. Zervan) to be checked”. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on Saturday, 5th July  2014 and examined Jockey K. Anil. After deliberations, the Stewards decided to suspend the Jockey’s licence granted to Jockey K. Anil from 16-7-2014 to 20-7-2014 (both days inclusive) for Careless Riding [Rule No. 161(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing] on his mount TOPSPOT in the above race (permitted to ride work).
