RACING INCIDENTS

THERE WAS HEAVY RAIN BEFORE THE START OF THE 5TH RACE

 

1st  Race:     54. The Bourbon King Plate – (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 00  to 25, 5 years old and over (12 Runners).

 

LUCKY THIRTEEN (Ashok Kumar A) began awkwardly.

 

It was reported after the race that BALAS DREAM (Prashant P Dhebe) pulled up lame on right fore.  Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

Trainer Mr. Nikhil M Punna and Jockey Imran Chisty were questioned over the performance of FANCY NUMBER.   Trainer said he instructed Jockey to take a good jump and do his best in the straight.  This was confirmed by Jockey Imran Chisty who stated that the gelding did not show any pace early even though he pushed him along.  He was back further than anticipated and did not respond to his hard riding when clear in the straight.  Mr. Nikhil M Punna added that FANCY NUMBER had been working well.  Explanations noted.

2nd Race:     55. The Moonlight Romance Trophy – (About) 1400 Metres. Maiden Horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible) (Terms) (12 Runners).

 

On jumping away REVERBERATING (Janardhan Paswan) and BRABUS (S.G Prasad) bumped DANCING JESSIE (Neeraj Rawal) took a fly jump losing ground.

 

Jockey D.K. Ashish, the rider of ROYAL SEAL, was fined Rs.5,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to CATO’S CALL (Keanen G Steyn) approaching the 900 Metres then shortly after shifting in causing severe interference to ELEGANT STAR (Vivek) which checked losing ground. This resulted in ELEGANT STAR shifting out sharply carrying CATO’S CALL (Keanen G Steyn) wider on the track.

 

ELEGANT STAR (Vivek) was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of STORMONT, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to THE WAY I AM (Yash Narredu) on his inside approaching the 200 Metres.

 

Jockey Janardhan Paswan, the rider of REVERBERATING reported that he lost whip passing 400 Metres.

 

STORMONT (Suraj Narredu) sustained a cut injury on left hock.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f DAZZLING BAY.

 

3rd Race:     56. The Baraloy Plate – (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 20  to 45, 5 years old and over (12 Runners).

 

The gate of BRONZINO (Imran Chisty) was slightly slow to open.  However the gelding was slow to move as usual.  This had no material effect on the race. The Starter was informed to check Gate 6 prior to the next race.

 

HIDDEN HERO (R. Vaibhav) was slowly away.

 

ALL PROOF (Janardhan Paswan) brushed the outside gate on jumping away.

 

Jockey S.G. Prasad, the rider of TANGANYIKA, was reprimanded for shifting in and inconveniencing ACTIVE GREY (Ashok Kumar A) on his inside approaching the 1200 Metres.

 

Jockey A. Ramu, the rider of PRESIDENTS RULE, was reprimanded for shifting out and inconveniencing ACTIVE GREY (Ashok Kumar A) on his outside approaching the 300 Metres.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g AS GOOD AS IT GETS.  

 

4th Race:     57. The Chief Minister’s Cup (Grade III) – (About) 1200 Metres. 4 years old and over (Terms) (9 Runners).

 

At the start after an adjustment Gate 6 was slightly slow.  The Starter checked the gate prior to the following race. 

 

Jockey T.S. Jodha, the rider of ROYAL SALUTE, placed 3rd by the Judge objected against Jockey D.K. Ashish, the rider of YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY, placed 2nd for “in the last 200 Metres the 2nd placed horse checked me very badly and I had to stop riding whereby I lost a certain 2nd place”. The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and examined the Jockeys concerned.  After deliberations, they decided to overrule the objection. 

 

At the 1100 Metres TREASURE MOUNTAIN (S. Zervan) eased from SHIVALIK STAR (Imran Chisty).

 

MR. GORGEOUS (Munna Alam) steadied the heels of VIRAT (Neeraj Rawal) approaching the 900 Metres.

 

Near 800 Metres YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY (D.K. Ashish) shifted in tightening ROYAL SALUTE (T.S. Jodha) in on to SHIVALIK STAR (Imran Chisty) which eased.

 

At the 300 Metres ROYAL SALUTE (T.S. Jodha) shifted in tightening ROCK WITH U (Kavraj Singh). Jockey T.S. Jodha was told to exercise great care in future when securing a clear passage.

 

At winning post T.S. Jodha (ROYAL SALUTE ) dropped whip.  

 

Compulsory Samples were taken for analysis from the following I, II and III placed horses viz:

5th  Race:     58. The V. Venugopal Naidu Memorial Cup - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 60  and above, 4 years old and over (11 Runners).

 

This race was run in a heavy down pour.

 

At the start SCARLET EMPEROR (S. Zervan) was tightened between EMERGING STAR (G. Adarsh) and CASTLE STUART (Neeraj Rawal).

 

When racing in a compact field approaching the 950 Metres VALERIAN        (D.K. Ashish) clipped the heels of SHREWD MASTER    (A. Sandesh).

 

Near 750 Metres EMERGING STAR (G. Adarsh) when easing from AMAZING REDD (G. Sai Vamshi) shifted out bumping AMAZING DESIRE (B. Nayak) on to VALERIAN (D.K. Ashish).

 

Jockey Rayan Ahmed R, the rider of SECRET PUNCH, was reprimanded for travelling wide from the start till about the 400 Metres.

 

Near the 350 Metres SCARLET EMPEROR (S. Zervan) and SHREWD MASTER (A. Sandesh) brushed.    

 

The whip of J. Chinoy (ASSIDUOUS) accidentally struck the cap of Jockey A. Sandesh (SHREWD MASTER) forcing the cap down over the eyes of Sandesh who stop riding momentarily at 250 Metres resetting the cap. 

 

SCARLET EMPEROR (S. Zervan) was forced to race wide for the major part of the event.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g CASTLE STUART.

 

6th Race:     59. The Usha Stud Plate – (About) 1600 Metres. Horses rated 40  to 65 (8 Runners).

 

This race was run in a heavy down pour.

 

LIEGE LORD (S.G. Prasad) was examined at the starting gates by the Chief Veterinary Officer and was found to be lame on left hind. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under Starter’s orders. Trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

OXFORD OPINION (Bhawani Singh) raced wide making the first turn.

 

Approaching the 900 Metres PHOENIX TIGER (Keanen G Steyn) eased from SECRET DIMENSION (Surya P).

 

Jockey Keanen G Steyn, the rider of PHEONIX TIGER placed 2nd by the Judge objected against Jockey Yash Narredu, the rider of OSTWIND, placed 1st for “at the 600 Metres the winner came on to me and at the 500 Metres he came on to me and bumped me where I lost my stride and once again between 450 Metres and 400 Metres when I was beginning to make to run the winner changed his course and took me out where my horse lost its stride totally which cost me a certain race”.  The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and examined the riders concerned. After deliberations, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g OSTWIND.

 

7th Race:     60. The Classical Act Plate – (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40  to 65, 4 years old and over (12 Runners).

 

The above race was cancelled due to poor visibility and heavy downpour.
