RACING INCIDENTS

(False Rails: Railing fixed at average width of 5.5 Metres from 1600 Metres to the winning post from its original position)

 

1st Race:     18. The Astounding Plate – Div.II – (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 15  to 35, 4 years old and over (10 Runners).

 

Trainer Mr. Darius R Byramji and Jockey S. Zervan were questioned regarding the poor performance of NINJA.  The trainer stated that (a) his charge was running after a gap of one and half years; (b) his charge was not very sound from its hind action; (c) his charge had not worked very impressively for it to run at such a short price; and (d) he also added that the horse had undergone tie back operation had also been carried out on his charge. The Jockey stated that he was asked to ride from well up and if nobody was going to the front then go to the front. He rode as per instructions but his mount almost came to a stand still in the final 200 Metres despite his best efforts he could only finish third. Their explanations were noted for future reference. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. On examination the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that it was found to be trotting lame on left fore.  Trainer Mr. Darius R Byramji was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b m COOL SPRINGS.

 

2nd Race:     19. The Lady Gibraltar Plate – (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 15  to 35 (10 Runners).

 

It was observed that Jockey Ajinkya R, the rider of BRABUS, accidentally lost his whip passing the 350 Metres.

 

VICIOUS CIRCLE (Arshad Alam) sustained cut injury on left hind tendon and bruises on both hock.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dk b g VICIOUS CIRCLE.

 

3rd Race:     20. The Sir M. Visvesvaraya Memorial Cup – (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 45  to 65 (10 Runners).

 

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Dominic to withdraw DREAM STAR (M. Noornabi) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be suffering from fever.  He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from  the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Narredu to withdraw SIR MAJESTIC (Suraj Narredu) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be suffering from fever.  He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

Trainer Mr. Aravind Ganapathy and Jockey David Breux were questioned regarding the poor performance of KRIEGER. The trainer stated that his charge had worked very well during morning trials when ridden by the same rider. He could not attribute any reason to the disappointing performance of his charge other than it running in the open class for the first time. The Jockey corroborated the statement of the trainer and added that his mount started slowing down from the 300 Metres. Their explanations were noted for future reference. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. On examination the Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that it had burst its blood vessels (endoscopy grade II – 5.40 p.m.).  Trainer Mr. Aravind G was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner gr g HAVELOCK PRINCE.

 

4th Race:     21. The Karnataka State Police Cup – (About) 1600 Metres. Horses rated 60 and above (9 Runners).

 

IM DIFFERENT (R. Girish) reared up as the gates opened.

 

It was observed that PIPPIN (Vishal) could not get a clear run approaching the 900 Metres due to the crowding of the field.

 

BLAZING TOUCH (Rayan Ahmed R) sustained bruises on right hind tendon.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dk b c SEA LORD.

 

5th Race:     22. The Kunigal Stud Plate – (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 30  to 50, 5 years old and over (12 Runners).

 

ARTIC ATTRACTION (T.S. Jodha) reared up as the gates opened.

 

SUPER STRONG (Kiran Naidu – drawn 9) was squeezed between HIDDEN HERO (Vinod Shinde – drawn 8) and FLAME’S FURY (Kiran Rai P – drawn 10) at the start.

 

Jockey A. Sandesh, the rider of GLITTERING, reported that his mount was hanging out after entering the straight. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.

 

Jockey T.S. Jodha, the rider of ARTIC ATTRACTION, reported that his saddle shifted back approaching the 400 Metres. After due examination of the equipment, trainer Mr. Samar Singh was fined Rs.3,000/- for faulty saddling.

 

GOOD FRUIT (Mukesh Kumar K) sustained cut injury on left hind cannon.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b m GLITTERING.  

 

6th Race:     23. The Southern Empire Trophy – (About) 1400 Metres. Maiden Horses 3 years old only (Horses who have run at least thrice but not placed second, third or fourth even once ineligible)(10 Runners).

 

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. J.E. Mckeown to withdraw RUNNING HAND in the above race.

 

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan to withdraw BURNISHED GOLD in the above race. The trainer was fined Rs.10,000/- for failing to put the scratching form in the proper box with regard to BURNISHED GOLD and RUNNING HAND (for which he had taken responsibility of trainer Mr. J.E. Mckeown).   

 

An enquiry is being held into the fall of Jockey P. Trevor on his mount SHERYN passing 300 Metres.

 

It was observed that MAGISTERO (David Breux) was running green throughout the race.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c ATTORNEY GENERAL.  

 

7th Race:     24. The Astounding Plate – Div.I – (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 15  to 35, 4 years old and over (9 Runners).

 

Jockey Nazerul Alam, the rider of LAVA, was reprimanded for shifting in and inconveniencing MAGNETIZE (Ajinkya R) on his inside approaching the 1000 Metres.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b m MILL ROSE.
