        1st Race:     114. The A.P.Kothavala Memorial Cup-Div.II-(About)
         9 Runners    1200 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only 
                       at the time of starting.  (Terms).
        
        When the horses were parading in the paddock it was observed that 
        the  right  hind  shoe of LAST  SAMURAI  (J.H.  Christopher)  had 
        splayed.   As the horse could not be reshod due to its  fractious 
        behaviour, the left hind shoe was also removed and the horse  ran 
        both hind bare.
        
        LAST  SAMURAI (J.H. Christopher) drifted out very  badly  causing 
        interference to LUCKY MASCOT (B. Prakash) in the final stages  of 
        the  race.    LAST SAMURAI(J.H. Christopher)  was  impounded  for 
        veterinary examination immediately after the race and the Veteri-
        nary  Officer reported that on examination it was found  to  have 
        caps  on  both sides of the upper jaw.Trainer Mr.  S.  Singh  was 
        informed  to  take appropriate remedial measures and  not  accept 
        with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of 
        the  Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day  on  the 
        race track. 
        
        BRAVE  AND BOLD (B.L. Paswan) was observed to have  ran  detached 
        from  the  field. Trainer Mr. Samar Singh was advised  to  ensure 
        better performance of his charge in future. 
         
        The  Stipendiary  Stewards reported Trainer Mr. Karan  Singh  and 
        Jockey  M. Ravi to the Stewards in connection with  the   running 
        and  riding of PHOENIX REACH. The Stewards held an enquiry  after 
        the last race and interviewed trainer Mr. Karan Singh and  Jockey 
        M.  Ravi.  After deliberations they decided to (a)  fine  Trainer 
        Mr. Karan Singh a sum of Rs.10,000/- for unsatisfactory  explana-
        tion  tendered during the enquiry; and (b) suspend  the  Jockey's 
        licence  granted  to Jockey M. Ravi from 23-1-2008  to  15-2-2008 
        (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding (Rule  No.161(ii) 
        on  his mount PHOENIX REACH in the above race (permitted to  ride 
        work).
        
        Routine  Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b  c  MIND 
        ME.
        
        2nd Race:     115. The Kitty Bank Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400  
         7 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 20 to 50, 5 and 6 years old at
                      the time of starting.
        
        Permission  was granted to Trainer Mr. Neil Darashah to  withdraw 
        BROTHERS IN ARMS as it was under veterinary treatment. 

        Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath was questioned regarding the poor perfor-
        mance  of his charge MEXIKAN WAVE (P. Ramesh) in the above  race.  
        His explanations were noted for future reference and he was  also 
        informed to produce the Track Work Log Book before the  Stipendi-
        ary Stewards at the earliest. 
        
        Jockey  Gautam  Raj  Urs, the rider of A  RUN  TO  REMEMBER,  was 
        severely  reprimanded for riding an over confident race.  He  was 
        further  informed that a repetition of similar manner  of  riding 
        would be dealt with severely.
        
        Trainer  Mr.  Samar Singh and Jockey S.  Rajesh  were  questioned 
        regarding the running and riding of CHAILA BABU and their  expla-
        nations were noted for future reference.
        
        An enquiry has been opened into the relative performance of A RUN 
        TO  REMEMBER the winner of this race in relation to previous  run 
        in  Race Nos.45 and 82 of Bangalore Winter Meeting  2007-08,  the 
        horse trained by Mr. Warren Singh and ridden by Jockey Gautam Raj 
        Urs. 
        
        Surprise  Sample  was taken for analysis from dkb g  BROTHERS  IN 
        ARMS.
        
        Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g REGAL DREAM.
        
        Routine  Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b m A  RUN 
        TO REMEMBER. 
        
        The  Stipendiary Stewards reported Trainer Mr. Neil  Darashah  to 
        the Stewards for accepting his charge BROTHERS IN ARMS to run  in 
        this  race  when his charge was under veterinary  treatment.  The 
        Stewards  held  an  enquiry after the last  race  and  questioned 
        trainer  Mr. Neil Darashah.  After deliberations they decided  to 
        fine trainer Mr. Neil Darashah a sum of Rs.10,000/- for accepting 
        his  charge  BROTHERS IN ARMS to run in the above race  when  the 
        horse  was under veterinary treatment. He was  further  cautioned 
        that a repetition of this would be viewed more seriously.
        
        3rd Race:     116. The Splendid Role Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. 
         8 Runners    Horses rated 20 to 50.
        
        MYSTIC STAR (Vivek) jumped awkwardly outwards and lost  consider-
        able  ground at the start.  In view of its behaviour trainer  Mr. 
        B.  Puttanna was informed that he must not accept with  it  again 
        until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendi-
        ary Stewards in one jump out on a starting gate practice day.
        
        Jockey Vijay Kumar, the rider of GARA FLUID, was fined Rs.1,000/- 
        for  shifting `in' and causing interference to ANTIVIRUS  (S.Sel-
        varaj) on his inside approaching the 600 Metres. 
        
        4th Race:     117. The Dancing Fountain Plate-(About) 1400 Metres 
        10 Runners    Horses rated 00 to 30.
        
        RECORD  TIME (S. Rajesh) jumped out awkwardly  thereby  inconven-
        iencing BADDA RUPAIYYA (S.S. Baria) on his outside which in  turn 
        passed it on to NIGHT LIGHT (Vivek) on the far side.

        Jockey  S.S. Baria, the rider of BADDA RUPAIYYA, was  reprimanded 
        for dropping his hands before passing the winning post. 
        
        Jockey S. Guruprasad, the rider of GRACIAN, was fined  Rs.2,000/- 
        for  drifting out and bumping PRETTY N FAST (Md. Shafiq)  on  his 
        outside  approaching  the 1200 Metres and also for  dropping  his 
        hands before passing the winning post. 
        
        Jockey  S.S.  Baria,  the  rider of  BADDA  RUPAIYYA,  was  fined 
        Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount  during 
        the race (1st infringement). 
        
        Routine  Sample  was  taken for analysis from the  winner  dkb  f 
        ALLEGRO.
        
        5th Race:     118. The Chief Minister's Trophy - (About) 2000 
         5 Runners    Metres. Indian Horses 4 years old and over at
                      the time of starting.  (Terms).
        
        Jockey  D.M. Grant, the rider of RETRIBUTION, reported  that  his 
        mount  was  hanging `in' very badly in the final  stages  of  the 
        race and that he had considerable difficulty in keeping it on  an 
        even  course. As a result it went in and  inconvenienced  STAFIRE 
        (C.D.  Hayes) on the inside approaching the 100  Metres.  Trainer 
        Mr. S. Padmanabhan was informed to get it checked by his  Veteri-
        narian and take appropriate corrective measures before  accepting 
        with it again. 
        
        6th Race:     119. The A.P.Kothavala Memorial Cup-Div.I-(About)
         8 Runners    1200 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only 
                       at the time of starting.  (Terms).
        
        Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in 
        the starting declaration in respect of his charge  SPIRITOFEXCEL-
        LENCE as regards rider.
        
        Just before the start of the race it was observed that the  right 
        fore shoe of RIMPUCHE was lost and as it could not be reshod  the 
        left fore shoe was also removed and the horse ran both fore bare.
        
        Jockey  K. Raja Rao, the rider of MOST PREFERRED,  reported  that 
        his  mount  was inclined to run out at about 900  Metres  and  he 
        could not get a clear run due to which he had to check his mount. 
        Trainer Mr. Karan Singh was informed to take appropriate  correc-
        tive measures before accepting with it again. 
        
        Jockey S.A. De Sousa, the rider of RIMPUCHE, was fined Rs.1,000/- 
        for  drifting out and causing interference to MYSTIC  DANCER  (B. 
        Prakash) on his outside approaching the last 150 Metres.
        
        UNIQUE DIAMOND (K. Narasimha) ran detached from the field. Train-
        er  Mr. R.V. Manohar was informed to ensure that his  charge  was 
        capable of better performance. 
        
        7th Race:     120. The Kitty Bank Plate - Div.I - (About) 1400  
         8 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 20 to 50, 5 and 6 years old at
                      the time of starting.
        
        Jockey  S. Shiva Kumar, the rider of SERIOUS WARRIOR, was  repri-
        manded for  pulling up his mount immediately past the post there-
        by inconveniencing the runners finishing on behind. 
        
        The  Stipendiary Stewards reported Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala  and 
        Jockey S. Selvaraj to the Stewards for running and riding of  BEE 
        FOR  YOU  in the above race.  The Stewards held  an  enquiry  and 
        interviewed  trainer  Mr. Irfan Ghatala and Jockey  S.  Selvaraj.  
        After  deliberations, they decided to (a) fine trainer Mr.  Irfan 
        Ghatala  a sum of Rs.20,000/- for the unsatisfactory  explanation 
        tendered  during the enquiry and for the negligence of  his  duty 
        pertaining  to  imparting  specific riding  instructions  to  his 
        rider;  and (b) suspend the Jockey's licence of S. Selvaraj  from 
        23-1-2008  to 23-2-2008 (both days inclusive) for  unsatisfactory 
        riding  (Rule  No.161(ii) on his mount BEE FOR YOU in  the  above 
        race (permitted to ride work).
        
        Surprise Sample was taken for anlaysis from the winner b g  SERI-
        OUS WARRIOR. 
        
        8th Race:     121. The R.H.Charles Memorial Plate - (About) 1600  
         9 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70, 5 and 6 years old at
                      the time of starting.
        
        An  enquiry  has  been opened into the  relative  performance  of 
        PILLAR OF GOLD the winner of this race in relation to its  previ-
        ous  run in Race Nos.37 and 84 of Bangalore Winter Meeting  2007-
        08, the horse trained by Mr. R.R. Byramji and ridden by Jockey M. 
        Narredu. 
        
        The  Stipendiary Stewards reported Trainer Mr.  M.B.  Mangalorkar 
        and Jockey S.S. Baria to the Stewards for the running and  riding 
        of  ALGIERS in the above race.  The Stewards held an enquiry  and 
        interviewed  trainer Mr. M.B. Mangalorkar and Jockey S.S.  Baria.  
        After  deliberations, they decided to (a) fine trainer  Mr.  M.B. 
        Mangalorkar a sum of Rs.20,000/- for the inconsistent running  of 
        his charge and for unsatisfactory explanation tendered during the 
        enquiry; and (b) suspend Jockey S. S. Baria from riding in  races 
        from  23-1-2008 to 31-3-2008  and should he apply for a grant  of 
        Jockey's licence not to consider the same till 30-6-2008 for  not 
        permitting  his mount ALGIERS  to run on its merit in  the  above 
        race (Rule No.159(a)&(b)(not permitted to ride work).
        
        Compulsory Sample was taken for analysis from b g ALGIERS.
        
        9th Race:     122. The R.H. Shaw Memorial Plate - (About) 1400 
          9 Runners   Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70.
        
        Jockey  S. Selvaraj, the rider of BASTIAN BAY, reported  that  he 
        accidentally brushed the rails approaching the 1000 Metres. 
        
        Jockey  Ryan Marshall, the rider of SAPTASHWA, reported that  his 
        mount  stumbled approaching the 1200 Metres whereby he  lost  his 
        position.   
        
        An  enquiry  has  been opened into the  relative  performance  of 
        ASTOUNDING  BLUE   the  winner of this race in  relation  to  its 
        previous run in Race Nos.85, 33 and 9 of Bangalore Winter Meeting 
        2007-08,  the  horse trained by Mr. Irfan Ghatala and  ridden  by 
        Jockey C.D. Hayes.

               Metres, for horses rated 40 to 70, 4 & 5 years old.
        
             The Stewards considered the analytical report received  from 
        the  Hong  Kong Jockey Club, pertaining to the  analysis  of  the 
        urine  sample taken from b g ALGIERS (trained by Mr. M.B.  Manga-
        lorkar)  which  had shown the  presence  of  N-di-desmethyl-chlo-
        rpheniramine  - prohibited substances - the sample of  which  was 
        taken after the said horse was placed First in the above race. 
        
             The Stewards noted the following:
        
             The trainer/owner were given the option of sending the split 
        sample of the urine for confirmatory analysis.  The trainer  vide 
        his  letter  dated  2-1-2008 informed the Club that  he  was  not 
        opting for a confirmatory analysis. 
        
             Therefore, the Stewards decided to disqualify the horse b  g 
        ALGIERS  for the above race and revise the order of  placings  as 
        under:

        Race No.16: The Kokkarebellur Plate-Div.I-(About) 1400 Metres. 
                           For horses rated 00 to 30.
        
        
             The Stewards considered the analytical report received  from 
        the  Hong  Kong Jockey Club, pertaining to the  analysis  of  the 
        urine  sample taken from b f ANOOSHEEK  (trained by Mr.  Z.  Dar-
        ashah)  which had shown the presence of  Caffeine,  Paraxanthine, 
        Theobromine and Theophylline - prohibited substances - the sample 
        of  which was taken after the said horse was placed First in  the 
        above race. 
        
             The Stewards noted the following:
        
             The trainer/owner were given the option of sending the split 
        sample of the urine for confirmatory analysis.  At the request of 
        the  trainer the split sample was sent for confirmatory  analysis 
        to the Laboratory at France and the Laboratory has confirmed  the 
        presence of Caffeine, Paraxanthine, Theobromine and  Theophylline 
        in  the  split urine sample of the said horse vide  their  report 
        dated 19-12-2007 received by us on 9-1-2008. 
        
             Therefore, the Stewards decided to disqualify the horse b  f 
        ANOOSHEEK for the above race and revise the order of placings  as
