1st Race: 130. The Chitradurga Plate - Div.II - (About) 1200
11 Runners Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only
(Terms).
Jockey C.D. Hayes, the rider of CLOUSEAU, reported
that his mount was hanging out in the straight. Trainer
Mr. S.S.Attaollahi was informed to get it checked by
his Veterinarian before accepting with it again.
Jockey K. Narasimha, the rider of DESIRE TO DAZ-
ZLE, was fined Rs.2,000/- for losing his position
during the early stages of the race for no apparent
reason and for not sufficiently persevering with his
mount.
2nd Race: 131. The Native Chieftan Plate - (About) 1600
8 Runners Metres. Horses rated 20 to 50, 5 and 6 years old
As Jockey S.R. Santosh Kumar was certified medi-
cally unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer
Mr. Amit Caddy to substitute Jockey Khurshad Alam to
ride FANTABULOUS HERO in place of Jockey S.R. Santosh
Kumar, the declared rider.
Jockey D. Gnaneshwar, the rider of SOUTH PARADE,
reported that he lost his whip approaching the 50
Metres.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the
winner gr g SUN ZONE.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Khurshad
Alam, the rider of FANTABULOUS HERO to the Stewards for
dangerous riding in that approaching the 1400 Metres he
came `in' very sharply and caused very severe inter-
ference to ROCAMORA (S. A. De Souza) which went in and
crashed against the false rails thereby totally unbal-
ancing the rider. The Stewards held an enquiry after
the last race and interviewed Jockeys Khurshad Alam and
S.A. De Souza. After deliberations they decided to
suspend the Jockey's licence granted to Jockey Khurshad
Alam from 29-1-2008 to 16-2-2008 (both days inclusive)
for dangerous riding (Rule No.161(i)) on his mount
FANTABULOUS HERO in the above race (permitted to ride
work).
3rd Race: 132. The Chitradurga Plate - Div.I - (About) 1200
10 Runners Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only
(Terms).
Jockey Shobhan Babu, the rider of THE ASSASSIN was
fined Rs.2,000/- for not persevering with his mount
during the race.
Jockey K. Narasimha, the rider of MIGHTY FINE, was
questioned regarding the riding of his mount in the
above race. He stated that his mount was hanging `in'
throughout the race. The horse was impounded for ve-
terinary examination. On examination it was found to
have sharp (upper) molars on both the jaw and wolf
tooth on both the jaws and eruption in incisors which
caused bleeding. The Stipendiary Stewards therefore
reported trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar to the Stewards for
his negligence in presenting his charge MIGHTY FINE in
such a condition. The Stewards held an enquiry after
the last race and interviewed trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar.
After deliberations they decided to severely caution
trainer Mr. R.V. Manohar for his negligence in present-
ing his charge in such a condition and informed him
that repetition of such incident would be viewed very
seriously. Trainer Mr. Manohar was informed to take
necessary remedial measures before accepting with his
charge again.
4th Race: 133. The M.M.Galstaun Memorial Plate -
8 Runners Div.I - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70,
5 and 6 years old.
Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.500/- for
making an error in the starting declaration in respect
of his charge FEELFREE as regards shoeing.
ZAFAR (S.John) jumped out awkwardly inwards incon-
veniencing REGAL MUSIC (S. Shiva Kumar) on the inside.
Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of FEELFREE report-
ed that he could not get a clear run approaching the
1100 Metres due to a tightly packed field.
5th Race: 134. The F.K. Irani Memorial Trophy - (About) 1200
8 Runners Metres. Horses rated 80 and above.
Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.500/- for
making an error in the starting declaration in respect
of his charge STEELIUM as regards shoeing.
Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.500/- for
failing to produce the declared colours at the scales
in respect of his charge DINESA. Subsequently `all
black' emergency colours were permitted to be used.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey S. Sel-
varaj, the rider of STEELIUM to the Stewards for dan-
gerous riding and for not exercising sufficient control
on his mount whereby he clipped the heels of FANTA-
BULOUS PRINCE (K.P.G. Appu) approaching the 800 Metres
whereafter he suddenly allowed his mount to shift 'out'
thereby taking out LIONHEART (J.H. Christopher) on his
outside and again for coming `in' very sharply and
causing very severe interference to DINESA (Vinod
Shinde) on his inside whereby Jockey Vinod Shinde
(DINESA) got momentarily unbalanced on the saddle and
lost his position. The Stewards held an enquiry after
the last race and interviewed Jockeys S. Selvaraj and
Vinod Shinde. After deliberations, they decided to
suspend the Jockey's licence granted to Jockey S.
Selvaraj from 24-2-2008 to 15-3-2008 (both days inclu-
sive) for dangerous riding (Rule No.161(i)) on his
mount STEELIUM in the above race (permitted to ride
work).
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the
winner ch g PASTICHE.
6th Race: 135. The M.M.Galstaun Memorial Plate - Div.II -
8 Runners (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70, 5 and
6 years old.
Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of EASY, reported
that he lost his whip approaching the 150 Metres.
Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was questioned for the
poor performance of HIDALGO in the above race. Not
being satisfied with the explanations he was cautioned
to maintain consistency in the running of his charges
in future and failure of which would be viewed serious-
ly.
Jockey Nasir Imam, the rider of HIDALGO, was fined
Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his
mount during the race (1st infringement).
7th Race: 136. The Kailash Trophy - (About) 1100 Metres.
10 Runners Horses rated 20 to 50.
READY TO CHALLENGE (Gaurav Sapra) planted and lost
many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour
trainer Mr. G. Nityanand was informed that he must not
accept with it again until its behaviour improved to
the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one
Mock Race on a race day on the race track.
Jockey D. Gnaneshwar, the rider of ADORABELLA
reported that he lost his whip approaching the final
150 Metres.
Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of READY TO CHAL-
LENGE, reported that he lost his whip during the final
50 Metres of the race.
Jockey D. Mahendran, the rider of PRAYATNA, was
reprimanded for dropping his hands before passing the
winning post.
READY TO CHALLENGE (Gaurav Sapra) was observed to
be in distress after the race. The horse was kept under
veterinary observation.
8th Race: 137. The Ullal Beach Plate-(About) 1400 Metres.
11 Runners Horses rated 00 to 30, 5 and 6 years old.
Jockey B. Prakash, the rider of PACIFIC PRIDE, was
questioned regarding the handling of his mount and his
explanations were noted.
STAR NEWS (C. Krishnan) sustained a cut injury on
right nostril.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the
winner b g REBORN.

behalf of trainer Mr. Pratap Kamath who was unable to attend the
races.

For horses rated 40 to 70.
The Stewards considered the analytical report received from
the Hong Kong Jockey Club, pertaining to the analysis of the
urine sample taken from b f LUSH FOLIAGE (trained by Mr. Neil
Darashah) which had shown the presence of Coffeine and Theophyl-
line - prohibited substances - the sample of which was taken
after the said horse was placed First in the above race.
The Stewards noted the following:
The trainer/owner were given the option of sending the split
sample of the urine for confirmatory analysis. The trainer vide
his letter dated 14-1-2008 informed the Club that he was not
opting for a confirmatory analysis.
Therefore, the Stewards decided to disqualify the horse b f
LUSH FOLIAGE for the above race and revise the order of placings
as under:

For horses rated 20 to 50.
The Stewards considered the analytical report received from
the Hong Kong Jockey Club, pertaining to the analysis of the
urine sample taken from ch f BEE THE STAR (trained by Mr.Irfan
Ghatala) which had shown the presence of Ergonovine - prohibited
substance - the sample of which was taken after the said horse
was placed First in the above race.
The Stewards noted the following:
The trainer/owner were given the option of sending the split
sample of the urine for confirmatory analysis. The trainer vide
his letter dated 17-1-2008 informed the Club that he was not
opting for a confirmatory analysis.
