eye it was tending to lug in all through the race
despite his best efforts to keep it on a straight
course. Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj was informed to take
appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it

riding of his mount MANTHARA in the above race. The
Jockey stated that the blinkers on his mount got loose
soon after the start and was partially obstructing the
vision of the horse and his mount was not galloping
fiercely during the race. Trainer Mr. Mohd. Khan was
informed to be careful while fastening the equipment in

many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour
trainer Mr. Sriram Komandur was informed that he must
not accept with it again until its behaviour improved
to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one
Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

UPPER CRUST (S. John) and SUGAR BLAZE (Vinod
Shinde) drifted out under pressure during the final
                  stages of the race.

5th Race: 11. The Air Force Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres.
        12 Runners Horses rated 40 to 70.

Jockey S. Ramesh, the rider of CIAMPINO reported
that his left rein snapped soon after jumping out of
the starting gates and as such he had to ride without
the aid of the equipment and could not offer sufficient
assistance to his mount. On examination of the equip-
ment after the race it was observed to have been other-
wise well maintained and such no further action was
                  taken beyond noting the incident.

Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of SOBERANO, was
reprimanded for looking back during the final stages of
the race for no apparent reason.

Trainer Mr. S.Padmanabhan was questioned regarding
the relatively poor performance of his charge RIVER
ISLAND (V. Sunil Kumar) in the above race. The trainer
stated that as his charge was running after a gap of
more than 3 months, and that it might have needed this
run and further after observing the performance of his
charge in the above race, in his opinion a six furlong
race would be more ideal for his charge. His explana-
                  tions were noted.

6th Race: 12. The Punjab Stud Plate - (About) 1600 Metres.

was reprimanded for not maintaining a proper course
whereby he came `in' and inconvenienced ALEJANDROS
(Vinod Shinde) on his inside approaching the 900 Me-
                  tres.

Trainer Mr. Darius R Byramji and Jockey Suraj
Narredu were questioned regarding the running and
riding of ROMANTIC SCENE. The trainer stated that as
the horse does not relish to be raced in front he had
instructed the rider to suitably ride his own race. AS
per his observation the rider was always tracking the
winner of the race and after entering the straight his
charge did not accelerate well and did not get a clear
run on the inside. He further added that his instruc-
tions in future will be to ride it from behind. The
rider corroborated the statement of the trainer. Their
                  explanations were noted.

ROMANTIC SCENE (Suraj Narredu) sustained cut
injuries on left hock and cannon.

Jockey S. Selvaraj was questioned regarding the
handling of his mount. While noting his explanation he
was informed that he should make every effort to im-
                  prove his riding in future.

Jockey B. Prakash, the rider of LATINO MAGIC, was
reprimanded for coming `in' and inconveniencing INDIAN
SWIFT (Suraj Narredu) which passed it on to DOCK OF BAY
