(False Rails - Width of 4 Metres from 1600 Metres to the winning post) 1st Race: 158. The Savadatti Plate - Div.II - (About) 1100 12 Runners Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only. Trainer Mr. Karan Singh and Jockey B. Prakash were questioned regarding the running and riding of LUNAR LUST. The Jockey stated that the horse did not have the initial speed as a result despite its urgings did not accelerate during the early part and only improved after entering the straight. The trainer corroborated the statement of the rider and added that the distance of 1100 Metres might be a trifle too short and the he will run it over 1400 Metres or longer. Their explana- tions were noted. SHEER GOLD (G.Y. Rajesh Babu) sustained cut injury on right hind fetlock. LUNAR LUST (B. Prakash) sustained bruises on both hind fetlock. Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the ch f LUNAR LUST. 2nd Race: 159. The Dharmasthala Plate - (About) 1600 Metres. 10 Runners Horses rated 20 to 50. JERSEY POWER (S.John) planted in the starting gates and lost few lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. B. Puttanna was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Ste- wards in one jump out on a starting gate practice day. Jockey Vijay Kumar, the rider of ANGEL FIELD, was fined Rs.2,000/-for coming `in' and causing interfer- ence to SUDDEN THUNDER (Y.S. Srinath) on his inside approaching the 500 Metres. Jockey Y.S. Srinath, the rider of SUDDEN THUNDER, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not maintaining a straight course approaching the 250 Metres. Trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy was questioned regarding the running of his charge LATINO MAGIC as also the change of distance. The trainer stated that the horse was a single paced horse earlier it had been ridden in check in the mid bunch but did not get the desired result and as such he had specifically instructed the rider to take a good jump, ride it out in the front and do his best in the straight over a distance. He further stated that it would be instructed to be ridden in a similar manner in future and that he intend running it in 1400 Metres. His explanations were noted for future reference. Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of DON CHERRY, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement). Jockey S.A.De'Souza, the rider of LIGHTNIN BLUES placed II by the Judge objected against Jockey Y.S.Srinath, the rider of SUDDEN THUNDER for "in the 300 Metres the horse interfered, bumped me and bored me and not allowing me a clear run till the last 50 Metres which cost me a certain race". The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and interviewed the Jockeys concerned. After deliberations, they decided to overrule the objection. 3rd Race: 160. The Doddaballapur Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. 12 Runners Horses rated 00 to 30. Jockey D. Gnaneshwar, the rider of ANOOSHEEK, was fined Rs.1,000/- for easing his mount in the last 100 Metres. LAND OF SMILES (S. Chandrashekar) sustained inju- ries on both fore fetlock. Compulsory Sample was taken for analysis from b f ANOOSHEEK. 4th Race: 161. The Gumbaz Trophy - (About) 1200 Metres. 12 Runners Horses rated 20 to 50. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f FANAA. 5th Race: 162. The Nilgiris Trophy - (About) 1800 Metres. 8 Runners Horses rated 60 to 90. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Narredu to withdraw AMAZING ONE on veterinary grounds as it was found to have an inflamation on left fore fetlock and cannon. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. ASSERT THE RIGHT (Y.S. Srinath) was observed to have brushed the false rails appraoching the 1000 Metres. PILLAR OF GOLD (Ryan Marshall) sustained bleeding gum injuries on the incisors. 6th Race: 163. The H. Devereux Memorial Plate - (About) 10 Runners 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70, 5 and 6 years old. Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the starting declaration in respect of his charge MAC. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. N.A. Ponnap- pa to withdraw LIFES LAUGHTER (Vijay Kumar) on veteri- nary grounds as it was lame on right hind due to sprained quarter muscle. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veteri- nary Officer before accepting with it again. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Dominic to withdraw HIDDEN PLEASURES (A. Ashok Kumar) on ve- terinary grounds as it was suffering from fever. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey D. Gnaneshwar, the rider of KALIYUG RAJA, reported that he could not get a clear run approaching the 1100 Metres due to a closely packed field. Jockey Vivek, the rider of STAGE COACH, reported that his mount was not galloping fluently and ran detached from the field. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. The Club's Veterinary Officer reported that on examination again at 5.45 p.m. the horse was observed to be stiff on both hind quarters. Trainer Mr. Sriram Komandur was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veteri- nary Officer before accepting with it again. Trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal was questioned regarding the running of his charge CASCABEL in the above race and his explanations were noted. The trainer further stated that he was planning to retire the horse. Surprise sample was taken for analysis from ch g KALIYUG RAJA. 7th Race: 164. The A.V. Venkatesh Memorial Plate - (About) 11 Runners 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar to withdraw BILLY BLACKJACK on veterinary grounds as it was lame on right fore due to sprained fetlock. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. AFEA (S.A. De Souza) did not get a clear run soon after the start. AFEA (S.A. De Souza) sustained a cut injury on left fore cannon. GRAPHIC DESIGN (Imran Chisty) sustained a traumat- ic injury on the right hind.
