        1st Race:     166. The Madhavanagar Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400   
        12 Runners    Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only
                      (Terms) 
        
                       Jockey S. Guruprasad, the rider of POKEMON MASTER, 
                  was  reprimanded for shifting out  and  inconveniencing 
                  THE  ASSASSIN (K.P.G.Appu) on his  outside  approaching 
                  the 300 Metres.
        
                       Jockey  Samuel  Fargeat,  the  rider  of  EQUIDAE, 
                  reported  that his mount was running green  whereby  it 
                  shifted  out  and   inconvenienced  GENTLE  KNIGHT  (B. 
                  Prakash)  on his outside which in turn passed it on  to 
                  THE ASSASSIN (K.P.G. Appu) on the far side  approaching 
                  the 800 Metres. 
        
                       Jockey S. Guruprasad, the rider of POKEMON MASTER, 
                  was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the  whip 
                  on his mount during the race (1st infringement). 
        
                       Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis  from  the 
                  winner b f EQUIDAE. 
        
        2nd Race:     167. The Kumta Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses 
        11 Runners    rated 00 to 30.
        
                       Trainer  Mr. Warren singh was fined  Rs.500/-  for 
                  making an error in the starting declaration in  respect 
                  of his charge ZIGGY STARDUST.
        
                       MISS  LIBERTY (D. Gnaneshwar) was extremely  frac-
                  tious inside the starting stall. Under the circumstanc-
                  es  it  was  withdrawn before  coming  under  Starter's 
                  Order.  In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Neil  Dar-
                  ashah  was  informed that he must not  accept  with  it 
                  again until its behaviour improved to the  satisfaction 
                  of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a  race 
                  day on the race track. 
        
                       Jockey  V.  Patel, the rider of  STAR  OF  JEWELS, 
                  reported  that  his  mount suddenly  shied  away  after 
                  entering the straight.
        
                       Jockey  S.  Chandrashekar, the  rider  of  EVENING 
                  RHAPSODY,  reported  that his mount  was  hanging  `in' 
                  badly during the final stages of the race. Trainer  Mr. 
                  G.  Nityanand was informed that get it checked  by  his 
                  Veterinarian  and  take appropriate  remedial  measures 
                  before accepting with it again. 
        
                       Jockey  Shakti Singh, the rider of GENERAL  RIDGE, 
                  was  fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient  effort 
                  to improve his position till entering the straight. 
        
        






        
        
                       Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis  from  the 
                  winner b f TRUE CONFIDENCE. 
        
        3rd Race:     168. The Classic Story Plate - Div.II - (About) 
         8 Runners    1400 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 50.
        
                       Permission was granted to trainer Mr. B. Prithvir-
                  aj  to withdraw PRAYATNA (D. Mahendran)  on  veterinary 
                  grounds  as it had sustained deep cut injuries on  both 
                  fetlocks  because of a fall on the way to the  saddling 
                  enclosure.  He  was  informed that he  must  produce  a 
                  Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary  Officer 
                  before accepting with it again.
        
                       BREED APART (Vinod Shinde) burst its blood vessels 
                  after the race.  Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was informed 
                  that  he  must produce a Fitness Certificate  from  the 
                  Club's  Veterinary  Officer before  accepting  with  it 
                  again. 
        
        4th Race:     169. The Classic Story Plate - Div.I - (About) 
         9 Runners    1400 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 50.
        
                       Jockey  S. John, the rider of BALLERINA GIRL,  was 
                  fined Rs.1,000/- for coming `in' and causing  interfer-
                  ence to CIBONEY (Vinod Shinde) on his inside soon after 
                  jumping out of the starting gates. 
        
                       Jockey  Faraz  Waheed, the rider of  GIVE  ME  THE 
                  MONEY, was fined Rs.1,000/-for travelling wide all  the 
                  way for no apparent reason.
        
        5th Race:     170. The P.Dayanand Pai & P. Satish Pai Bangalore
        14 Runners    Winter Million (Grade III)-(About) 1200 Metres. 3 
                       year old Indian Horses (Foaled in 2005) (Terms).
        
                       Trainer  Mr. B. Prithviraj was fined Rs.500/-  for 
                  not declaring the weight in respect of his charge  RARE 
                  AND PRECIOUS.
        
                       MUSIC  FOREVER  (K.P.G. Appu)  drifted  out  badly 
                  after  passing  the  900 Metres and ran  on  the  outer 
                  portion  of  the  grass track  thereafter  despite  the 
                  efforts of the rider. In view of its behaviour  trainer 
                  Mr.  S. Dominic was informed to get it checked  by  his 
                  Veterinarian,  take appropriate remedial  measures  and 
                  not  to  accept with it again until its  behaviour  im-
                  proved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary  Stewards 
                  in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track. 
        
                       Jockey  Md.Shafiq,  the rider of  PLEASURING,  was 
                  fined  Rs.3,000/-  for his improper action  during  the 
                  race.
        
                       JOIN  THE  PARTY (Vivek) burst its  blood  vessels 
                  after  the race.  Trainer Mr. Amit Caddy  was  informed 
                  that  he  must produce a Fitness Certificate  from  the 
                  Club's  Veterinary  Officer before  accepting  with  it 
                  again. 
        
        






        
                       Compulsory  Samples were taken for  analysis  from

        6th Race:     171. The Madhavanagar Plate - Div.I - (About) 1400   
        12 Runners    Metres. Maiden Indian horses 3 years old only
                      (Terms) 
        
                       POWER TO FIGHT (K. Narasimha) jumped out awkwardly 
                  from the starting gates. 
        
                       Jockey  S  A De Sousa, the rider  of  CART  WHEEL, 
                  reported  that  the trotting action of  his  mount  was 
                  awkward after the race.  The horse was thereby impound-
                  ed for veterinary observation and the Veterinary Offic-
                  er  reported after the race that on examination it  was 
                  observed to be sound.
        
        7th Race:     172. The RWITC Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses 
        11 Runners    rated 80 and above 
        
                       The Stewards ordered and held an enquiry regarding 
                  the  running of the race with particular  reference  to 
                  the dangerous riding of Jockey Vivek on his mount ROYAL 
                  AMBASSADOR  which went in sharply causing  very  severe 
                  interference  to  ORPENDALE (Shobhan  Babu)  along  the 
                  rails as a result the latter got totally unbalanced and 
                  the  rider  was dislodged from his mount.  They  inter-
                  viewed  Jockey  Vivek  but could  not  examined  Jockey 
                  Shobhan Babu as he was under medically treatment. After 
                  deliberations,  the Stewards decided not to  alter  the  
                  Order of placings as declared by the Judge.
        
                       The  Stewards  continued their enquiry  after  the 
                  last race pertaining to the dangerous riding of  Jockey 
                  Vivek on his mount ROYAL AMBASSADOR in the above  race. 
                  They interviewed Jockey Vivek.  After deliberations and 
                  also  considering  the admission of Jockey  Vivek  they 
                  decided  to  suspend his Jockey's Licence  with  effect 
                  from  26-2-2008 to 31-3-2008 (both days inclusive)  and 
                  should  he apply for the grant of Jockey's licence  for 
                  the season 2008-09 not to grant the same till 31-5-2008 
                  for  dangerous  riding (Rule No.161(i))  on  his  mount  
                  ROYAL AMBASSOR in the above race (not permitted to ride 
                  work). 
        
                       ORPENDALE  (Shobhan Babu) sustained a  cut  injury  
                  on right fore bulb of the heel. 
        
        8th Race:     173. The Amazing Grey Plate - (About) 1200 Metres.
        12 Runners    Horses rated 20 to 50, 5 and 6 years old.
        
                       Trainer  Mr. Warren Singh was fined  Rs.500/-  for 
                  making an error in the starting declaration in  respect 
                  of his charge SHE'S BIG.
        
                       Jockey P. Ramesh, the rider of SPANISH CROWN,  was 
                  fined Rs.1,000/- for not sufficiently persevering  with 
                  his mount during the race. 






        
        
        
                       Routine  Sample  was taken for analysis  from  the 
                  winner ch g SATIN WOOD.

                   SIXTEENTH DAY, SATURDAY, 12TH JANUARY 2008
        
        2nd Race:     115. The Kitty Bank Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400  
         7 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 20 to 50, 5 and 6 years old at
                      the time of starting.
        
             An  enquiry was held pertaining to the relative  performance 
        of  A  RUN TO REMEBER trained by Mr. Warren Singh and  ridden  by 
        Jockey Gautam Raj Urs, the winner of this race in relation to its 
        previous runs in Race No.45 & 82 of the Bangalore Winter  Meeting 
        2007-08.  After due enquiry, the explanations tendered by Trainer 
        Mr. Warren Singh was noted. 
        
        8th Race:     121. The R.H.Charles Memorial Plate - (About) 1600  
         9 Runners    Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70, 5 and 6 years old at
                      the time of starting.
        
             An  enquiry was held pertaining to the relative  performance 
        of  PILLAR  OF GOLD, trained by Mr. R.R. Byramji  and  ridden  by 
        Jockey  M.  Narredu, the winner of this race in relation  to  its 
        previous runs in Race No. 37 & 84 of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 
        2007-08.  After due enquiry, the explanations tendered by Trainer 
        R.R. Byramji was noted. 
        
        9th Race:     122. The R.H. Shaw Memorial Plate - (About) 1400 
          9 Runners   Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70.
        
             The Stipendiary Stewards reported trainer Mr. Irfan  Ghatala 
        to the Stewards pertaining to the inconsistent pattern of running 
        and  the resultant improved performance of his charge  ASTOUNDING 
        BLUE, the winner of this race as compared to its previous run  in 
        Race No.85  of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2007-08 on  Saturday, 
        22nd December 2007 i.e. The Badami Plate-(About) 1400 Metres, for 
        horses  rated 40 to 70 when ridden by Jockey S. Selvaraj  it  ran 
        unplaced.   They Stewards held an enquiry after the last race  on 
        Saturday,  16th February 2008 and interviewed trainer  Mr.  Irfan 
        Ghatala.   After due deliberations, they decided to fine  trainer 
        Mr.  Irfan  Ghatala Rs.20,000/- for the inconsistent  pattern  of 
        running of his charge ASTOUNDING BLUE, the winner of this race as 
        compared to its previous run in Race No.85 and also for tendering 
        inconsistent explanations during the Stewards enquiry. 
        
                  TWENTYSECOND DAY, SATURDAY, 9TH FEBRUARY 2008
        
        10th Race:    157. The M.N.Prakash Memorial Plate - (About) 1200
        12 Runners    Horses rated 40 to 70, 5 and 6 years old.
        
             An enquiry was held into the relatively poor performance  of 
        AMAZING  FOREST, trained by Mr. Samar Singh and ridden by  Jockey 
        S. Rajesh. 
        
             After due enquiry, the explanations tendered by trainer  Mr. 
        Samar Singh was noted. 
        
        3rd Race:    150. The Shimoga Plate - (About) 1100 Metres. Horses
        12 Runners    rated 00 to 30.
        
             The  Stipendiary  Stewards reported Jockey Himanshu  to  the 
        Stewards  pertaining to his riding on COMMAND PERFORMANCE in  the 
        above race.

             The  Stewards held enquiry after the last race on  Saturday, 
        9th  February 2008 and Friday, 15th February 2008.   They  inter-
        viewed  trainer Mr. Samar Singh and Jockey Himanshu.   After  due 
        deliberations, they decided to (a) note the explanations tendered 
        by trainer Mr. Samar Singh; and (b) suspend the Jockey's  Licence 
        granted  to Jockey Himanshu with effect from 25-2-2008  to  31-3-
        2008  (both days inclusive) and should he apply for the grant  of 
        Jockey's  Licence, not to grant the same till 30-6-2008 for  con-
        travention  of Rule 159(b) of the BTC Rules of Racing  pertaining 
        to his riding on his mount COMMAND PERFORMANCE in the above  race 
        (not permitted to ride work). 
        
        8th Race:    155. The Ruia Stud Plate-(About) 1200 Metres. Horses
        10 Runners    rated 60 to 90.
        
             The  Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Suraj  Narredu  to 
        the Stewards for the careless riding on his mount STYLISH BAY  in 
        the  above race in that approaching the 900 Metres he  came  `in' 
        very  sharply and caused very severe interference  to  ALEJANDROS 
        (B.L. Paswan) on his inside which in turn passed it on to  KORPO-
        RATE  (D.  Gnaneshwar) which went `in' and bumped  OLIVIA  VALERE 
        (K.P.G. Appu) along the rails.  As a result all the above said  3 
        horses had to be severely checked by their respective riders  and 
        ALEJANDROS & OLIVIA VALERE momentarily got unbalanced. 
        
             The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on  Friday, 
        15th  February 2008 and interviewed trainer Mr. S.  Narredu,  the 
        Spokesman  for  Jockey  Suraj Narredu and  Jockey  Suraj  Narredu 
        himself and Jockeys K.P.G. Appu and B.L. Paswan.  After delibera-
        tions,  the  Stewards  decided to suspend  the  Jockey's  licence 
        granted to Jockey Suraj Narredu with effect from 26-2-2008 to 22-
        3-2008  (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding on  his  mount 
        STYLISH BAY in the above race (Rule No.161(i)) (permitted to ride 
        work).

        8th Race:     121. The R.H. Charles Memorial Plate-(About) 1600  
        Metres.  Horses  rated 40 to 70, 5 & 6 years old at the  time  of 
        starting.
        
             The  Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on  Thursday,  14th  
        February  2008  considered the appeal dated  14-1-2008  filed  by 
        Jockey S.S. Baria against the Order of the Stewards of the Banga-
        lore Turf Club  Ltd., in suspending his Jockey's Licence from 23-
        1-2008 up to 31-3-2008 and that should he apply for the grant  of 
        Jockey's  Licence for the season 2008-09, not to grant  the  same 
        till 30-6-2008 for not permitting his mount ALGIERS to run on its 
        merit (Rule NO.159(a) & (b) in the above race.
        
             The Board interviewed Mr. S. Marshall, Spokesman for  Jockey 
        S.S. Baria, Jockey S.S. Baria himself and trainer Mr. M.B. Manga-
        lorkar.  After  deliberations,  the Board of  Appeal  decided  to 
        reject the appeal filed by Jockey S.S. Baria. They further decid-
        ed that the appeal fee of Rs.2,500/- paid by Jockey S.S. Baria be 
        forfeited.

        starting.
        
             The  Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on  Thursday,  14th 
        February 2008 considered the appeal dated 14th January 2008 filed 
        filed  by  trainer Mr. M.B.Mangalorkar against the Order  of  the 
        Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club  Ltd., in fining him a sum of 
        Rs.20,000/-  for  inconsistent pattern of running of  his  charge 
        ALGIERS  and for unsatisfactory explanation tendered  during  the 
        enquiry.
        
             The Board interviewed trainer Mr. M.B. Mangalorkar.    After 
        deliberations, the Board of Appeal decided (a) to reduce the fine 
        to Rs.5,000/-  for unsatisfactory explanation tendered during the 
        enquiry; and (b) that the appeal fee of Rs.2,500/- made by train-
        er Mr. M. B. Mangalorkar be forfeited. 
        
        7th Race:     120. The Kitty Bank Plate Div.I-(About) 1400  
        Metres.  Horses  rated 20 to 50, 5 & 6 years old at the  time  of 
        starting.
        
             The  Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on  Thursday,  14th  
        February  2008  considered the appeal dated  17-1-2008  filed  by 
        Jockey  S.  Selvaraj  against the Order of the  Stewards  of  the 
        Bangalore  Turf  Club  Ltd., in suspending his  Jockey's  Licence 
        from 23-1-2008 up to 23-2-2008 (both days inclusive) for unsatis-
        factory riding on his mount BEE FOR YOU (Rule No.161(ii)) of  the 
        BTC Rules of Racing in the above race.  
        
             The Board interviewed Mr. S. Marshall, Spokesman for  Jockey 
        S.  Selvaraj,  Jockey S. Selvaraj himself and trainer  Mr.  Irfan 
        Ghatala.   After  deliberations, the Board of Appeal  decided  to 
        reject  the  appeal  filed by Jockey S.  Selvaraj.  They  further 
        decided  that  the  appeal fee of Rs.2,500/- paid  by  Jockey  S. 
        Selvaraj be forfeited.

             The  Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on  Thursday,  14th 
        February 2008 considered the appeal dated 17th January 2008 filed 
        filed  by  trainer  Mr. Irfan Ghatala against the  Order  of  the 
        Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club  Ltd., in fining him a sum of 
        Rs.20,000/-  for  unsatisfactory explanation tendered  during  he 
        enquiry and for the negligence of his duty pertaining to  impart-
        ing  specific riding instructions to his rider of his charge  BEE 
        FOR YOU in the above race.
        
             The  Board  interviewed trainer Mr. Irfan  Ghatala.    After 
        deliberations,  the  Board of Appeal decided (a)  to  reject  the 
        appeal  filed  by  trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala; and  (b)  that  the 
        appeal  fee  of Rs.2,500/- made by trainer Mr. Irfan  Ghatala  be 
        forfeited.
