        (False Rails: Average width of 5 Metres from 1600 Metres to  1000 
        Metres and 8.5 Metres from 1000 Metres to the winning post.)
        
        1st Race:       227. The Dariya Daulat Cup-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres.
                     For horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners).
        
        Jockey  V.R. Jagadeesh, the rider of IMPERIAL APPLAUSE,was  fined 
        Rs.1,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to SPARK OF 
        CLASS (S. Chandrashekar) approaching the 700 Metres. 
        
        Jockey Y.S. Srinath, the rider of VAYUPUTRA, was fined Rs.1,000/- 
        for  shifting  `out' and causing interference to LUNAR  LUST  (A. 
        Imran Khan) approaching the 1000 Metres. 
        
        Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from ch f LUNAR LUST.  
        
        2nd Race:       228. The Bhadravathi Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.
            For horses rated 00 to 25, 5,6 & 7 years old (11 Runners)
        
        FIREY BUSINESS (Vinod Shinde) was examined at the gates and found 
        to have splayed her right fore shoe, which came off during exami-
        nation.   Hence  it was permitted to be withdrawn  before  coming 
        under Starter's Orders. 
        
        Jockey  Gaurav Sapra, the rider of MISTER TROOPER, reported  that 
        he lost his whip approaching the 125 Metres. 
        
        GRACIAN (S. John) sustained injury on left hind coronet. 
        
        3rd Race:       229. The Dariya Daulat Cup Div-I-(About) 1200 Metres.
                     For horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners).
        
        DISTINCTLY  AHEAD  (S. Shiva Kumar) reared up at  the  start  and 
        unbalanced the rider. The rider tried to take the support of  the 
        starting gate with his left hand, in the process the horse jumped 
        outwards  and the rider lost his left rein as a result the  horse 
        lost several lengths.  
        
        VALID  EXPECTATION  (S. John) shifted `in' and  bumped  SPARK  OF 
        ELEGANCE (S. Chandrashekar) soon after the start. 
        
        VALID  EXPECTATION (S. John) was examined after sampling and  was 
        found to have sharp molars on upper jaw on the right side. 
        
        Routine  Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g  VALID 
        EXPECTATION.
        
        4th Race:   230. The D.P.Sharma Memorial Sprinters Trial Stakes - 
        (About) 1200 Metres. For Indian Horses 4 year old and over at the 
        time of starting (Terms) (4 Runners)

        BOURBON KING (A. Imran Khan) pulled up lame on right fore due  to 
        sprained  tendon. Trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy was informed  that  he 
        must  produce  a Fitness Certificate from the  Club's  Veterinary 
        Officer before accepting with it again. 
        
        Routine  Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f  AQUI-
        TAINE. 
        
        5th  Race:   231. The Agumbe Plate - (About) 1400 Metres.  Indian 
        Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (11 Runners)
        
        Trainer  Mr. Tharun Thimmaiah was fined Rs.500/- for  failing  to 
        declare the weight in respect of his charge CHRONICLE.
        
        ROYAL GLINT (Vivek) jumped awkwardly inwards. 
        
        6th Race:       232. The Garuda Cup - (About) 1200 Metres. For 
                       horses rated 60 to 85 (10 Runners).
        
        SUN  ZONE  (C.  Krishnan) planted and lost many  lengths  at  the 
        start.  In  view  of its behaviour trainer Mr.  B.  Puttanna  was 
        informed  that  he must not accept with it again  until  its  be-
        haviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary  Stewards 
        in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.  
        
        Jockey  Y.S.  Srinath,  the  rider of  MIGHTY  HEART,  was  fined 
        Rs.1,000/-  for shifting `out' and causing interference  to  RARE 
        AND PRECIOUS (Harish) passing the 400 Metres. 
        
        Jockey Harish, the rider of RARE AND PRECIOUS, reported that  his 
        mount was lugging `in' in the last 150 Metres. 
        
        7th Race:   233. The Sringeri Plate - (About) 1100 Metres.
        Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (9 Runners).
        
        Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Prasanna Kumar to  withdraw 
        MAGNIFIQUE on veterinary grounds as it was examined at 10.20 a.m. 
        on 19th March 2009 and found to be walking lame on right hind due 
        to  sprained  stifle.   He was informed that he  must  produce  a 
        Fitness  Certificate  from the Club's Veterinary  Officer  before 
        accepting with it again.
        
        Jockey  D.  Mahendran, the rider of MERCUTIO, reported  that  his 
        mount  was hanging `in' in the straight.  Trainer Mr. S.  Dominic 
        was  informed  to  get it checked by his  Veterinarian  and  take 
        appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. 
        
        Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of CLASSIC CHARGE, reported  that 
        his mount was lugging `in' in the straight. 
        
        An  enquiry  was  held into the running and riding  of  SPARK  OF 
        ILDERIM.  The trainer stated that (a) he was away at Pune on  the 
        day  of acceptances; (b) he spurted his ward on Thursday  and  it 
        did  not  work  up to his expectation; (c) he felt  that  it  was 
        slightly  underdone, as such he had instructed his rider to  ride 
        the  horse hands and heels in the straight without  unnecessarily 
        punishing  the horse.  The Jockey corroborated the  statement  of 
        the  trainer and further added that he rode as per  the  instruc-
        tions. 
        
        Trainer  Mr. Prasanna Kumar was fined  Rs.5,000/-  for  accepting 
        his charge without ascertaining the level of fitness of his  ward 
        and  was further warned that in future he should not  accept  his 
        wards unless he is fully satisfied with regard to the fitness  of 
        his wards.
        
        Jockey  S.  John,  the  rider of  SPARK  OF  ILDERIM,  was  fined 
        Rs.5,000/-  for  riding an indifferent race and  he  was  further 
        warned  that  a repetition of a similar manner  of  riding  would 
        entail him being reported to the Stewards.

        Race  No.156:  The H. Devereux Memorial Plate-Div.I-(About)  1400 
        Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5,6 & 7 years old.
        
        After  due enquiry, Jockey Zia Akthar, the rider of JEDI  KNIGHT, 
        was  severely reprimanded for his negligence in not wearing  gog-
        gles during the race.
        
                       28TH DAY, SATURDAY, 14TH MARCH 2009
        
        Race  No.220:  The Tungabhadra Plate-(About) 1400 Metres.  Horses 
        rated 40 to 65, 5,6 & 7 years old.
        
        The  Stipendiary  Stewards reported Jockey A.  Ashok  Kumar,  the 
        rider  of CRACKERJACK to the Stewards {Rule No.159(b) of the  BTC 
        Rules of Racing} in that he (i) failed to take a prominent  posi-
        tion after the start when he was in a position to do so; (ii) did 
        not  improve his position till 700 Metres; (iii) took  the  final 
        bend unnecessarily wide; and (iv) did not ride out with  adequate 
        vigour  in the last 100 Metres. The Stewards held an enquiry   on 
        Saturday, 21st March 2009 and interviewed Trainer Mr. Habib  Khan 
        and Jockey A. Ashok Kumar.  After deliberations, they decided (a) 
        to note the explanations tendered by trainer Mr. Habib Khan;  and 
        (b)  that should A. Ashok Kumar apply for the grant  of  Jockey's 
        Licence for the season 2009-2010, it shall not be considered till 
        7th August 2009.
