(False Rails: Width of 3.5 Metres from 1600 Metres to 900 Metres and 3.5 Metres to 5 Metres from 900 Metres to 500 Metres and 3.5 Metres from 500 Metres to the Winning Post.) 1st Race: 115. The Holenarsipur Plate-(About) 1200 Metres. 10 Runners Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only at the time of starting (Terms). As Jockey K.P.G. Appu was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. M.P. Mahaesh to substitute Jockey Saleem Golam to ride ONE IN MILLION in place of the de- clared Jockey. Jockey Md. Shafiq, the rider of DESERT IMAGE was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course from 500 Metres to 300 Metres. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c ABOL- INE. 2nd Race: 116.The Dancing Fountain Plate - (About) 1400 11 Runners Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 5, 6 & 7 years old at the time of starting. ZANGI (M.D. Praveen) jumped out awkwardly and inconvenienced FIREY BUSINESS (Vinod Shinde) on the outside soon after the start. Jockey M.D. Praveen, the rider of ZANGI, was fined Rs.2,000/- for travelling wide throughout the race for no apparent reason. SILVER PARIS (S. Shiva Kumar) was examined and found to have injuries on either side on the corners of the mouth and sharp molars on right lower jaw. Trainer Mr. Samar Singh was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate cor- rective measures before accepting with it again. Jockey A. Ashok Kumar, the rider of ROYAL FILLY, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 300 Metres. Trainer Mr. Warren Singh was questioned regarding the poor per- formance of his charge COUELLE (K. Raja Rao). The trainer stated that (a) his charge was working very well in the morning track work; (b) his charge had finished on very well over 1100 Metres in its last run in Race No.40 of the BWM 2008-09 where it had finished fifth; (c) he fancied the horse strongly; and (d) subsequently after the race he had got it checked by his Veteri- narian and his charge was absolutely fine and therefore he could not attribute any specific reason for the poor performance of his charge. His explanations were noted for future reference. However, the trainer was advised to take all possible steps to ensure better performance of his charge in future. 3rd Race: 117. The Splendid Role Plate - (About) 1100 Metres. 12 Runners Horses rated 20 to 45. As Jockey G.Y. Rajesh Babu was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Dominic (deputising for trainer Mr. S. Britto) to substitute Jockey S. Chandrashekar to ride SHOT OF GOLD in place of the declared rider. Jockey Samuel Hitchcott, the rider of WORTH A MILLION, reported that he lost his left stirrup iron soon after the start and regained it after few strides. MINT (F.K. Shahbuddin) jumped awkwardly outwards inspite of the best effort of the rider. Trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour im- proved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in two jump outs on starting gate practice days. Jockey S. Chandrashekar, the rider of SHOT OF GOLD, reported that his mount was running green throughout the race. Jockey R. Koch, the rider of GIFTOFACHIEVEMENT, reported that his mount was hanging `in' very badly after rounding the final bend. Trainer Mr. S. Narredu was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dkb g VAYUPUTRA. 4th Race: 118. The Kitty Bank Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. 12 Runners Horses rated 20 to 45, 5, 6 and 7 years old at the time of starting. As Jockey R. Ravi was certified medically unfit to ride, permis- sion was granted to trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad to substitute Jockey F.K. Shahbuddin to ride RED RUBEN in place of the declared rider. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. V. Lokanath to substitute Jockey D. Gnaneshwar to ride SOUTHERN MAGIC in place of the declared rider. MISS PUKKA (S. John) pulled up lame on left fore due to a sprained tendon. Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey D. Gnaneshwar, the rider of SOUTHERN MAGIC, was reported that he lost his whip approaching the 400 Metres. Jockey Gaurav Sapra, the rider of STAR BLUE, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 900 Metres. RED RUBEN (F.K. Shahbuddin) was slow into the stride and lost considerable ground soon after the start. Approaching the 1200 Metres it suddenly shied away from the rails to wide outside, losing ground further and ran detached throughout the race. Trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad was questioned regarding the behaviour of his charge. He stated that (a) it is blind on the right eye and runs with an eye patch; (b) it had never behaved in such a manner in its earlier starts. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one mock race on a race day on the race track. 5th Race: 119.The Jaggy Stud Plate-Div.I-(About) 1200 Metres. 11 Runners Handicap for horses rated 60 to 85, 5, 6 & 7 years old at the time of starting. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. M. Eshwer to substitute Jockey D. Gnaneshwar to ride SILKEN CLARE in place of the de- clared rider. Jockey S. John, the rider of MASQUENADA, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `out' and causing interference to CANNAVARO (M.D. Pra- veen), LAVA (C. Krishnan) and AFEA (David Allan) on his outside soon after jumping out of the starting gates. Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of CLASSICAL DANCER, was fined Rs.1,000/- for excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement). MASQUENADA (S. John) sustained an injury on right hind coronet. 6th Race: 120. The Chief Minister's Trophy - (About) 2000 7 Runners Metres. Indian Horses 4 years old and over at the time of starting (Terms). Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan to withdraw HOLDING COURT on veterinary ground as it was found to be stiff on all four legs when examined at 8.40 a.m. on 8-1-2009. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the declaration of weight in respect of his charge WONDER SMILE. Trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan was fined Rs.500/- for not declaring weight in respect of his charge HOLDING COURT. ARABIAN KNIGHT (Samuel Fargeat) jumped awkwardly inwards and inconvenienced ARCHIPENKO (Suraj Narredu) on the inside soon after jumping out of the starting gates. An enquiry is being held with regard to the report of Jockey Samuel Fargeat, the rider of ARABIAN KNIGHT, that he was taken out rounding the final bend deliberately by Jockey D. Patel, the rider of WONDER SMILE. 7th Race: 121.The K.Rama Rao Memorial Trophy-(About) 1600 11 Runners Metres. Handicap for horses rated 40 to 65, 5, 6 & 7 years old at the time of starting. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. G. Nityanand to substitute Jockey David Allan to ride DOUBLE ELITE in place of the declared rider. FREEMASON (Vinod Shinde)was extremely fractious and refused to be loaded. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders. Jockey Mohammed Shoaib, the rider of EXCELLENT SPEED, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 300 Metres. LEAGUES APART (Gaurav Sapra) pulled up lame on right fore due a sprained tendon. Trainer Mr. J.S. Pillay was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. OUR LANCER (N. Harsha) sustained a bleeding injury on right hind coronet. 8th Race: 122. The R.H.Shaw Memorial Plate - (About) 1400 12 Runners Metres. Handicap for Horses rated 40 to 65. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. M. Eshwer to substitute Jockey D. Gnaneshwar to ride ANNA'S QUEST in place of the de- clared rider. Jockey Afsar Khan, the rider of SHOWHORSE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (1st infringement). Jockey Afsar Khan, the rider of SHOWHORSE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the extravagant use of the whip on his mount during the race. CONCEPTUAL (S. John) burst its blood vessels after the race. Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy was questioned regarding his riding instructions to Jockey Mohammed Shoaib, the rider of CELESTIAL TREASURE. The trainer stated that (a) his charge was running after a long lay off; (b) his charge was injured on its left eye after its last run; (c) its left eye has impaired vision; and (d) in view of the aforesaid reasons he had instructed the Jockey neither to hustle nor to whip his charge at the start, to keep it in fifth or sixth position on the inside and to do his best in the straight. The Jockey corroborated the statement of the train- er and further stated that (a) he was slowly away and could not adhere to the trainer's instructions and had to race in the rear; (b) he was apprehensive to use the whip as the horse had impaired vision; and (c) he tried to do his best in the straight. The explanation of the trainer was noted for future reference. Jockey Mohammed Shoaib, the rider of CELESTIAL TREASURE was fined Rs.5,000/- for riding an indifferent race. He was further cau- tioned that repetition of a similar manner of riding would entail him being reported to the Stewards. 9th Race: 123.The Jaggy Stud Plate-Div.II-(About)1200 Metres. 11 Runners Handicap for horses rated 60 to 85, 5, 6 & 7 years old at the time of starting. Permission was granted to trainer Mr. M.P Mahaesh to substitute Jockey David Allan to ride GAME OF LIFE in place of the declared rider. Jockey Shanth Kumar, the rider of RAIDER'S SON, was fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting `out' and causing interference to BEE THE STAR (Vinod Shinde) on his outside approaching the 1200 Metres and for taking him `out' again in the straight.
