(False Rails - Width about 4.5 Metres from 1600 Metres to the winning post.) 1st Race: 124. The Sriharikota Plate-Div.II-(About) 1100 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (10 Runners). SIMPLY PHENOMENAL (Tauseef Ahmed) was very fractious and refused to be stalled. Under the circumstances it was withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders. MOMENT OF THE DAY (Suraj Narredu) was very fractious and refused to be stalled. Under the circumstances it was withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders. Trainer Mr. Tharun Thimmaiah was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the starting declaration in respect of his charge COORG HONEY as regards shoeing. CELTIC HEROINE (K. Raja Rao) was fractious on the way to the starting gates. In view of its behaviour permission was granted for it to be led riderless to the gates. CELTIC HEROINE (K. Raja Rao) jumped awkwardly outwards and was slow into stride thereby losing few lengths. Trainer Mr. Karan Singh was informed that he should not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in two jump outs on starting gate practice days. Jockey C.D. Hayes, the rider of SANS PAREIL, had weighed `out' without the stirrup iron. Therefore he had to be weighed `out' again with the stirrup iron resulting in considerable delay in the arrival of the horse to the paddock. In view of the above incident, Jockey C.D. Hayes was fined Rs.3,000/- for his negli- gent approach with regard to weighing out. SANS PAREIL (C.D. Hayes) inconvenienced GUSTAVO (B.L. Paswan) on its outside approaching the 900 Metres. COORG HONEY (Shobhan Babu) ran erratically in the straight. SANS PAREIL (C.D. Hayes) drifted out under pressure during the final stages of the race. Jockey B.L. Paswan, the rider of GUSTAVO, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient effort on his mount in the last 200 Metres. DIVINE GLEAM (Mahammed Shoaib) sustained an injury on right hind inner bulb of heel. 2nd Race: 125. The W.J.Sibbritt Memorial Stakes - (About) 2000 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners). PELIKANO (David Allan) was fractious in the stalls and took a fly jump. Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of SPARK OF GOLD, was fined Rs.1,000/- for coming `in' and causing interference to RAPTOR FORCE (Samuel Hitchcott) on his inside approaching the 300 Me- tres. Jockey Ranjeet Singh, the rider of ONE, was reprimanded for dropping hands before passing the winning post. SPARK OF GOLD (Suraj Narredu) drifted out under pressure during the final stages of the race. 3rd Race: 126. The Sriharikota Plate-Div.I-(About) 1100 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (11 Runners). SOCIAL CLIMBER was examined at 7.45 a.m. on 22-1-2009 and found to be suffering from sore shins, inflammed left fore fetlock joint and was not in a fit state. Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. Neil Darashah to withdraw his charge on veterinary grounds. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certifi- cate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. AMAR PREM (S. Chandrashekar) accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 800 Metres. Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of SHADES OF WHITE tightened SWEET SURRENDER (Gaurav Sapra) thereby inconveniencing it on his inside approaching the 600 Metres. AMAR PREM (S. Chandrashekar) who was galloping directly behind SWEET SURRENDER (Gaurav Sapra) had to be restrained to avoid clipping its heels. SWEET SURRENDER (Gaurav Sapra) sustained an injury on left hind inner bulb of heel. 4th Race : 127. The Sangam Trophy-(About) 1400 Metres. Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (10 Runners) Jockey D. Gnaneshwar, the rider of SPARK OF REVERENCE, reported that his mount was running erratically soon after the start for about 250 Metres and settled down thereafter. SUPREME ARCH (N. Harsha) stumbled approaching the 1000 Metres. Jockey N. Harsha, the rider of SUPREME ARCH, reported that his mount was hanging `out' from the 800 Metres in spite of his best effort to keep it on an even course thereby he took NORTHERN SPLENDOUR (M. Ravi) to the wide outside rounding the final bend. Trainer Mr. V. Loknath was informed to get his charge checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of TARGET ACHIEVER, reported that his mount was hanging `in' in the straight. Trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. Approaching the 600 Metres SUN GOLD (Shobhan Babu) was tightened along the rails due to the crowding of the field. 5th Race : 128. The Kollur Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Indian Horses rated 40 to 65 (12 Runners). Jockey B. Prakash, the rider of FOREVER MARK, reported that his mount was hanging `in' very badly in the straight in spite of his best effort to keep it on an even course thereby he could not offer sufficient assistance to his mount. Trainer Mr. S. Gana- pathy was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. Jockey F.K. Shahbuddin, the rider of MUDEER POWER was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to DARK HORSE (N. Harsha) on his inside resulting in it brushing the false rails and had to be checked by its rider approaching the 1000 Metres. BORN BEAUTY (Vivek) which was running very close to the false rails, accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 700 Metres and had to be checked. DARK HORSE (N. Harsha) sustained bruises on right shoulder. 6th Race: 129. The Karnataka Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (12 Runners). Jockey Tauseef Ahmed, the rider of STYLISH BAY was fined Rs.5,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to PERPETU- ITY (Suraj Narredu) which in turn passed it on to TOMSK (S. John) soon after the start. Jockey S. John, the rider of TOMSK was fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to restrain his mount and causing interference to ROYAL AMBASSADOR (Samuel Hitchcott) on his inside which in turn passed it on to REFLECTION OF GOLD (D. Gnaneshwar) within 50 Metres of the start. Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of PERPETUITY, reported that he could not get a clear run approaching the 200 Metres due to the crowding of the field. Jockey S. John, the rider of TOMSK was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `in' and causing interference to GREEN BAX (C.D. Hayes) on his inside approaching the 200 Metres. TALK OF THE DEVIL (F.K. SHE'S A DIAMOND (C. Krishnan) was very fractious, sustained injuries on left hind and refused to be stalled. Puttanna was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. LOOK ALIKE (P. Ramesh) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped MISS MARVELOUS (Gaurav Sapra) on the outside soon after jumping out of the starting gates. In the process Jockey P. Ramesh (LOOK ALIKE) lost his left stirrup iron which he regained within 50 Metres. Jockey S. Chandrashekar, the rider of HIDALGO, reported that his right rein slipped in the last 25 Metres. Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of LAGO VISTA, reported that his mount was galloping in snatches throughout the race. Trainer Mr. Sriram Komandur was informed to get it checked by his Veterinari- an and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again. Horses rated 20 to 45. (11 Runners) SNOW PRINCE (K. Raja Rao) lost few lengths at the start, was slow into the stride and lost more ground. Trainer Mr. Karan Singh was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Ste- wards in two jump outs on starting gate practice days. Jockey C.D.Hayes, the rider of SPANDAU BALLET, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `out' and causing interference to ROYAL CONFIDENCE (B. Prakash) on his outside rounding the final bend. Jockey Samuel Hitchcott, the rider of REDSHIFT, was reprimanded for inconveniencing ROYAL CONFIDENCE (B. Prakash) on his inside rounding the final bend. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g THE LAST SAMURAI. Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna was questioned regarding the poor perfor- mance of his charge STAR NEWS (C. Krishnan). The trainer stated that he got his charge examined after the race day and found it to be stiff and further added that probably it could be the reason for its poor performance. While noting the explanation of the trainer, he was advised to ensure better performance by his charge in future. 9th Race : 132. The Tiptur Plate-Div.II- (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 5, 6 & 7 years old (12 Runners). KEMROCK (S.R. Santosh Kumar) threw its head in the air, veered inwards soon after the start, in the process bumping SPLENDID GLORY (Vivek) on the inside and lost ground. CARIBBEAN PIRATE (M. Madhu Babu) had to be restrained by its rider in order to avoid clipping the heels of SPREAD A SMILE (Shobhan Babu) approaching the 650 Metres. Jockey C. Krishnan, the rider of IMMORTAL was fined Rs.3,000/- for excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement). Jockey A. Ashok Kumar, the rider of ASPIRING SEVEN, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting `in' and bumping CARIBBEAN PIRATE (M. Madhu Babu) approaching the 1100 Metres. Trainer Mr.G.Nityanand was questioned regarding the riding in- structions given to Jockey Madhu Babu on his charge CARIBBEAN PIRATE). The trainer stated that (a) the horse is blind on left eye;(b) it had the tendency of drift `out' rounding the final bend; (c) under the circumstances he had cautioned the Jockey to be careful while negotiating the bend; and (d) he had instructed the Jockey to keep it in second or third position and to do his best in the straight. The Jockey corroborated the statement of the trainer and he further stated that (a) his mount missed the jump thereby he could not adhere to the trainer's instructions and had to race in the rear; (b) he was apprehensive to improve his position rounding the final bend since the horse had a tend- ency to drift out; and (c) he rode out his mount well in the straight. Both their explanations were noted for future refer- ence.
