1ST Race: 131. The Harangi Plate-Div.II - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners)

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Sriram Komandur to declare Jockey Suraj Narredu to ride his charge BRIGADE'S PRIDE.

Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of VIRTUOSO reported that his mount was hanging in, in the straight. Trainer Mr. Tharun Thimmaiah was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.

FREEMASON (P. Mani) planted and took no practical part in the race. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Warren Singh was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in two jump outs on starting gate practice days and one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g BRIGADE'S PRIDE.

2nd Race: 132. The Kailash Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres Horses rated 20 to 45 (11 Runners).

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. S. Ganapathy to withdraw RUBY LEGEND on veterinary grounds as it was found to have sustained bleeding cut injury on right neck. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Jockey S. John, the rider of SNOW PEAKS, reported that he momentarily lost his left rein and regained it within a few strides approaching the 250 Metres.

Jockey Mohammed Shoaib, the rider of SHER DIL, was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course passing the 1000 Metres.

GUSTAVO (Khurshad Alam) sustained a bleeding cut injury on right fore coronet.

AMAZING QUEEN (A. Ashok Kumar) sustained a cut injury on right fore fetlock.

Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala and Jockey Khurshad Alam were questioned regarding the relatively poor performance of GUSTAVO as compared to its previous run in race No.67 of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2009-10 when ridden by Jockey B.L. Paswan it won the race. The trainer stated that (a) he had instructed the rider to ride from the mid bunch and do his best in the straight; (b) the company which his charge won in the previous start in Race No.67 was relatively poor; (c) in this race the early pace was too fast and his charge did not have the initial speed; and (d) having drawn 7, the rider traveled on the outside and rode out but his charge could only finish with the field. The rider stated that despite his best effort the horse did not show much acceleration at any part of the race. Their explanations were noted.

3rd Race: 133. The Harangi Plate - Div.I - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners)

MUCHO (G.Y. Rajesh Babu) sustained a cut injury on right hind bulb of the heel.

BUCEPHALAS (David Allan) sustained a cut injury on right hind fetlock.

4th Race : 134. The Karnataka Racehorse Owners' Association Trophy - (About) 1200 Metres. 3 year old Indian Horses (foaled in 2007) based in Karnataka (terms) (6 Runners).

Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of AWARDING, reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.

The Club's Veterinary Officer reported that on examination after the race it was observed that the left fore shoe of THE DARLING BOY(B. Prakash) had apparently splayed during the race.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner ch f TSAVORITE.

5th Race: 135. The Ranganathittu Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 6 years old and over (11 Runners)

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Warren Singh to declare Jockey C.D. Hayes to ride his charge SUNNY CONNEXION.

CINDY GIRL (Harish) was examined at the starting gates and was found to have sustained a bleeding cut injury on left hind fetlock before the race on the way to the starting gates. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under Starter's orders. Trainer Mr. Warren Singh was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

FREE GLIDER (M.J. Gautam Raj Urs) jumped awkwardly with its head up in the air and in the process bumped BUCK PASSER JUNIOR (Imran Chisty) on his inside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.

Jockey Shobhan Babu, the rider of GOOD COMPANION, reported that his mount was hanging in, in the straight. Trainer Mr. S. Inayathulla was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.

6th Race: 136. The F.K. Irani Memorial Trophy (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (10 Runners).

CART WHEEL (S.A. De Sousa) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped MIGHTY HEART (David Allan) on its outside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of LADY DUFF, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in and tightening CART WHEEL (S.A. De Sousa) on his inside approaching the 900 Metres.

Jockey S.A. De Sousa, the rider of CART WHEEL, reported that he could not get a clear run approaching the 700 Metres.

Jockey C.D. Hayes, the rider of SUGAR RAY, reported that he could not get a clear run rounding the final bend.

PHOENIX REACH (B. Prakash) sustained a cut injury on right hock.

7th Race: 137. The M.M. Galstaun Memorial Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old and over (12 Runners)

Jockey Mohammed Shoaib, the rider of VOODOO MOON, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient effort to improve his position till entering the straight.

An enquiry has been opened into the incident pertaining to Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of ROMANCE IN THE AIR, losing his right stirrup iron passing the 800 Metres on account of an alleged interference from Jockey K. Raja Rao, the rider of REGAL RANSOM in the above race.

Jockey Y.S. Srinath, the rider of MAN UNITED, was fined Rs.5,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to POWERFULDREAMS (Samuel Fargeat) on his inside during the final stages of the race.

Eighth Day, Saturday, 5th December, 2009
Race No.63. The Bangalore Turf Club Trophy-(About) 1200 Metres, Indian Horses 3 years old and over.

The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd.,at their Meeting held on Saturday, 16th January 2010 considered the analytical report received from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, pertaining to the analysis of the urine sample taken from ch h DIAMOND HUNTER (trained by Mr. M. Eshwer) which had shown the presence of 16B-hydroxy stanozolol - prohibited substance - the sample of which was taken after the said horse was placed First in the above race.

The Stewards noted the following :

The trainer/owner were given the option of sending the split sample of the urine for confirmatory analysis. The trainer vide his letter dated 24th December 2009 requested the Club to send the split urine sample of the said horse for confirmatory analysis to the Horseracing Forensic Laboratory, New Market, U.K. Accordingly the split sample was sent and the said laboratory vide its Certificate dated 15th January 2010 confirmed the presence of the said drug.

Therefore, the Stewards decided to disqualify the horse ch h DIAMOND HUNTER from the above race and revise the order of placings as under:
