1ST Race: 138. The Sriharikota Plate - (About) 1100 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (11 Runners)
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad to withdraw REFORMATION (S. John) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be trotting lame on right fore due to inflammed hoof. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
As Jockey K.P.G. Appu was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. V.Lokanath to substitute Jockey B. Sreekanth to ride SOVIET MELODY in place of the declared rider.
Jockey S.A. De Sousa, the rider of BRAAVO, reported that his mount was hanging in, in the straight. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported. However, trainer Mr. R.R. Byramji was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.
Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of DEEP BLUE SKY, reported that his mount was trying to run out throughout the race. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported. However, trainer Mr. S. Narredu was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.
Jockey C.D. Hayes, the rider of DELIGHT OF ASIA, reported that his mount running green throughout the race.
ANOTHER VOICE (Afsar Khan) ran detached from the field. Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar was informed to ensure better performance of his charge in future.
2nd Race: 139. The Kollur Plate- Div.II- (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65 (9 Runners)
HURRICANE BOLT (P.S.Chouhan) pulled up lame on left fore due to sprained fetlock. Trainer Mr. S. Dominic was informed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Jockey D. Mahendran, the rider of SPARK OF BRONTE, reported that his mount was hanging in badly in the straight. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. The Club's Veterinary Officer reported that on examination of the mouth after the race it was found to have injuries on its left buccal mucosa. Trainer Mr. Prasanna Kumar was informed to get necessary veterinary treatment before accepting with it again.
3rd Race: 140. The Sangam Trophy - (About) 1400 Metres. Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (10 Runners)
Trainer Mr. S. Dominic was fined Rs.500/- for failing to declare the weight in respect of his charge LOVE CONQUERS ALL.
Approaching the 800 Metres, in a closely packed field, JUNO (Ryan Marshall) racing behind COUNT ROYAL (C.D.Hayes) accidentally clipped the heels of the front runner, shifted out and in the process inconvenienced ATOMIC WEAPON (Vinod Shinde) on the outside.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f SALONI.
4th Race: 141. The Jamuna Plate - (About) 1400 Metres Horses rated 00 to 25 (12 Runners).
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Mohd.A Abbas to withdraw ZAMALEK (S. Guruprasad) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be trotting lame on right fore due to sprained shoulder. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Jockey Shanth Kumar, the rider of STAR GLEAM, was fined Rs.2,000/- for not persevering with his mount during the race.
PRACTICAL MAGIC (P. Mani) pulled up lame on right fore due to sprained tendon. Trainer Mr. J.S. Pillay was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Trainer Mr.Sharat Kumar and Jockey Afsar Khan were questioned regarding the running and riding of OUR CRUISE. The trainer stated that (a) he had instructed the rider to ride from the mid bunch and do his best in the straight; (b) the horse does not have the initial speed which is evident from all its previous outings; (c) his charge had always come from the rear bunch and finishes strongly in the race; and (d) he thought that his charge may need another extra 200 Metres. The Jockey corroborated the statement of the trainer as regards the instructions and the lack of initial speed. Their explanations were noted.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g SPREAD A SMILE.
5th Race: 142. The Kollur Plate- Div.I- (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65 (8 Runners)
The left rein of Jockey S.A. De Sousa (STILL WILL) came off soon after
jumping out of the starting gates, whereby the rider had to ride without the aid
of the equipment and could not offer any assistance to his mount during the
race. An enquiry was held and the following were interviewed viz. the Starter, 2
Handlers who attended the horse, Trainer Mr. S. Dominic and Jockey S.A. De
Sousa. The equipment was thoroughly examined which was observed to have been in
good condition. After due enquiry as no fault could be attributed to anybody,
the incident was noted.
6th Race: 143. The Karnataka Trophy (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (10 Runners).
Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the Starting Declaration in respect of his charge SOBERANO as regards shoeing.
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. M. Eshwer to substitute Jockey Suraj Narredu to ride BLINK in place of the declared rider.
Jockey M.D. Praveen, the rider of NECTAR JEWEL, was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course soon after jumping out of the starting gates.
Jockey B. Prakash, the rider of BOURBON BAY, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in and causing severe interference to SOBERANO (Vinod Shinde) on his inside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from b g BOURBON BAY.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dkb g BLINK.
7th Race: 144. The Tiptur Plate-Div.I-(About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 5 years old and over (11 Runners)
As Jockey M.D. Praveen was certified medically unfit to ride after his ride in the 6th race, permission was granted to trainer Mr. Samar Singh to substitute Jockey M.J. Gautam Raj Urs to ride NEEL GAGAN in place of the declared rider.
SIMPLY DANGEROUS (Ryan Marshall) pulled up lame on right fore due to a sprained knee. Trainer Mr. Amit Caddy was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
MUDEER POWER (Mohammed Shoaib) ran detached from the field. Trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan was informed to ensure better performance of his charge in future.
MARIANELLA (A. Velu) sustained a cut injury on right hind cannon.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey P. Mani, the rider of SHOW HORSE to the Stewards for unsatisfactory riding (Rule No.161(ii) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in the above race. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race and interviewed trainer Mr. Warren Singh and Jockey P. Mani. After deliberations, they decided to (a) note the explanations tendered by trainer Mr. Warren Singh; and (b) suspend Jockey P. Mani from riding in races from 3-2-2010 to 17-2-2010 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding on his mount(Rule No.161(ii) of the BTC Rules of Racing) SHOW HORSE in the above race (permitted to ride work).
8th Race: 145. The Vedavati Plate - (About) 1800 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45 (12 Runners)
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. M. Eshwer to substitute Jockey Harish to ride HAGGLER in place of the declared rider.
YES I CAN (Khurshad Alam) accidentally brushed the false rails approaching the 1300 Metres.
Jockey Khurshad Alam, the rider of YES I CAN, was reprimanded for shifting out and inconveniencing ISINBAYEVA (B.L. Paswan) on his outside approaching the 1100 Metres.
Jockey B.L. Paswan, the rider of ISINBAYEVA,was reprimanded for shifting in and inconveniencing HAGGLER (Harish) on his inside approaching the 300 Metres.
TOPKAPI (David Allan) sustained a cut injury on right hock.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g TOPKAPI.
9th Race: 146. The Tiptur Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated
20 to 45, 5 years old and over (11 Runners)
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. J.S. Dhariwal to substitute Jockey Vinod
Shinde to ride SEVEN STAR in place of the declared rider.
Jockey G. Adarsh, the rider of SON OF THE SUN, was fined Rs.1,000/- for not maintaining a straight course thereby crowding the horses viz. SOLITARY CHAMP (Amyn Merchant) and STAGELIGHT (Mohammed Shoaib) on his inside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.
Jockey Khurshad Alam, the rider of SHOT OF GOLD, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to SEVEN STAR (Vinod Shinde) on his inside which had to be checked by its rider, SOLITARY CHARMP (Amyn Merchant) which was travelling directly behind also had to be checked and shifted out thereby bumped SABARI (N. Harsha) approaching the 900 Metres.
Jockey N. Harsha, the rider of SABARI, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to JUST GREAT (F.K. Shabuddin) on his outside approaching the 400 Metres.
JUST GREAT (F.K. Shabuddin) burst its blood vessels. Trainer Mr. Amit
Caddy was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's
Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Race No.29: The Fernhill's Palace Juvenile Million (Grade II) (About) 1400
Metres, for 3 year old Indian Horses (foaled in 2006)
The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. at their meetings held on 8th January 2010, 21st January 2010 and 23rd January 2010, considered the report submitted by the Stipendiary Stewards pertaining to the detection of the drugs 5-alpha-estrane-3-beta, 17-alpha-diol and Nandrolone - prohibited substances - in the urine sample taken from b g D'ARTAGNAN after the horse placed First in the above race on 24th May 2009. The horse trained by Mr. S. Padmanabhan.
They interviewed trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan on the above said dates. After deliberations, they decided to suspend the Trainer's Licence granted to trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan from 5-2-2010 to 4-3-2010 (both days inclusive) and fine him a sum of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only) for infringement of Medication Rules (in respect of his charge D'ARTAGNAN in the above race) as contained in BTC Calendar Notification under the heading "Medication and treatment of horses in Training and Racing and Anti-Doping Control" and further in terms of Rule X of the said Rules reading as follows:
"The trainer is always responsible for the protection and security of
the horse in his care. Trainers are warned that they will be held responsible if
an examination of a horse, results in the finding of any prohibited
substances".
