1st Race: 256. The Barachukki Plate-Div.II-(About) 1200 Metres. Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (8 Runners)
Jockey Vijay Kumar, the rider of KARNATAKA PRINCESS, reported that his mount was hanging out throughout the race. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. On examination it was found to have sharp molars on both lower jaws with caps. Hence trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan was fined Rs.2,000/- for his negligence.

2nd Race: 257. The Bhatkal Plate - (About) 1800 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45, 5 years old and over (5 Runners)

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Neil Darashah to withdraw LET THE RIVER RUN on veterinary grounds as it was lame on left fore due to inflammed hoof. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath and Jockey B. Sreekanth were questioned regarding the running and riding of REDSHIFT. The trainer stated that as his charge was running in the race with penalty after its win in the last outing, he had instructed the rider to ride from 4th/5th position and do his best in the straight and the rider had ridden according to his instructions, but could only finish a close 4th. The Jockey corroborated the statement of the trainer and also added that his mount did not quicken when asked for an effort in the final 300 Metres of the race. Their explanations were noted.

REDSHIFT (B. Sreekanth) sustained a cut injury on left hind fetlock.

3rd Race: 258. The Yadavagiri Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25 (10 Runners)

Permission was granted to trainer Mr. Mohd. A Abbas to withdraw ZAMALEK (S. Guruprasad) on veterinary grounds as it was lame on left hind due to inflammed hock. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

Jockey P.Mani, the rider of PRACTICAL MAGIC, was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course before passing the red marker post.

Jockey Md. Shafiq, the rider of SMART COOKY, reported that his mount was inclined to run out approaching the 800 Metres. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination. On examination it was observed to have buccal injuries. Trainer Mr. Samar Singh was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.

Jockey J.H. Christopher, the rider of ASPIRING SEVEN, was fined Rs.1,000/- for the extravagant use of the whip on his mount during the race.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f JORIKI.

4th Race: 259. The Heeroji Lad Bangalore Juvenile Million (Grade III) - (About) 1400 Metres. For 3 year old Indian Horses (Foaled in 2007)(Terms) (7 Runners)

Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala was fined Rs.2,000/- for using bandage on the left hind leg of his charge SUNSPIRIT without obtaining prior permission.

SKY TRAIN (Imran Chisty) planted and lost many lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a race day on the race track.

Jockey P.S. Chouhan, the rider of SUNNYS SECRET, reported that his mount was running erratic in the straight.

Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of CON ARTISTE, reported that his mount was lugging out in the straight under pressure and he had considerable difficulty in keeping his mount on an even course. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination and no abnormality was reported. However, trainer Mr. F. Sirajuddin (deputizing for trainer Mr. S. Padmanabhan) was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.

SUNNYS SECRET (P.S. Chouhan) sustained an injury on right hind fetlock.

It was reported after the race that SUNNYS SECRET (P.S. Chouhan) pulled up lame on right hind due to sprained stifle. Trainer Mr. Faraz Arshad was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

SUN SPIRIT (M. Narredu) sustained cut injury on right hind cannon.

Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the following I,II and III placed horses viz:

5th Race: 260. The Star Luminary Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 20 to 45 (12 Runners)

After due enquiry into the running and riding of PRECEPT, Trainer Mr. Narayana Gowda was fined Rs.5,000/- for the unsatisfactory running of his charge PRECEPT in the above race and Jockey Shanth Kumar, the rider of PRECEPT was fined Rs.5,000/- for not making sufficient effort on his mount during the race.

Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c SWEET SURRENDER.

6th Race: 261. The Garden City Trophy - (About) 1600 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (6 Runners)

As Jockey M. Narredu was certified medically unfit to ride, permission was granted to trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala to substitute Jockey Suraj Narredu to ride LOCK AND LOAD in place of Jockey M. Narredu, the declared rider.

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of LOCK AND LOAD, reported that he could not get a clear run approaching the 200 Metres due to a closely packed field.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g TIMELESS TREASURE.

7th Race: 262. The Equus Stud Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85, 5 years old and over (12 Runners)

Jockey R. Koch, the rider of ACCURATE, was fined Rs.1,000/- for not sufficiently persevering with his mount in the straight.

SUNDANCE KID (Imran Chisty) sustained a cut injury on left hind pastern.

246. The Smt. Satyavathi V. Char Memorial Cup - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey Himanshu, the declared rider of ARABIAN MEMORIES to the Stewards for violation of Calendar Notification under the heading "ALCOHOL TESTING OF RIDERS" in that he returned positive in the Breathlyser Test. The Stewards held an enquiry after the last race on 27th March 2010. The Stewards considered the written request of Jockey Himanshu in that while pleading guilty as to the breach of Calendar Notification, he had requested that as he was not able to attend the enquiry due to unavoidable reasons and that he may be pardoned for the same and had also unconditionally agreed to abide by the decision of the Stewards for the breach of Calendar Notification on the said matter. After deliberations, the Stewards decided that should Jockey's licence be granted to Jockey Himanshu for the season 2010-2011, the same shall remain suspended from 15-5-2010 to 16-5-2010 (both days inclusive) and fine him a sum of Rs.2,500/- for violation of Calendar Notification under the heading "ALCOHOL TESTING OF RIDERS" (permitted to ride work).
