1st Race: 142. The Sriharikota Plate - (About) 1100 Metres Maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only (Terms) (10 Runners).
LOYAL KING (P. Ramesh) was extremely fractious in the starting gates. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's orders.
Jockey Vivek, the rider of CARESS, reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dk b f MEGHALYA.
2nd Race: 143. The Vedavati Plate - (About) 2000 Metres Horses rated 20 to
45 (4 Runners).
Permission was granted to trainer Mr. V. Lokanath to withdraw BROWNIE (S. John) on veterinary grounds as it was found to be lame on right fore due to sprained shoulder. Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Jockey Anthony Crastus, the rider of CASTRO, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement).
Jockey S. Selvaraj, the rider of HILLARIOUS, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the improper use of the whip whereby he allowed his mount to drift out in the final 150 Metres of the race. He was further cautioned in the presence of Trainer Mr. Irfan Ghatala that in view of the fact that he had won the race, no further action was taken but for which he would have been reported to the Stewards for severe disciplinary action.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b c HILLARIOUS.
3rd Race: 144. The Jamuna Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 5 years old and over (12 Runners)
It was reported after the race that STAR OF STARS (S. John) pulled up lame
on left fore due to sprained knee. Trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan was informed that he
must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before
accepting with it again.
Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of AMAZING COLOUR, was fined Rs.3,000/- for
coming in and causing interference to the horses on his inside viz. EVERGLADES
(B. Harish), STAR OF STARS (S. John) and SOUTHERN PEARL (A. Ramu) approaching
the 1200 Metres.
4th Race: 145. The B.C. Prabhakar Memorial Cup - Div.II - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old & over (10 Runners)
SPARK OF HARMONY (P.Mani) took a fly jump.
Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of NECTAR CROWN, reported that his mount was not galloping fluently in the final 150 Metres of the race. The horse was impounded for veterinary examination but no abnormality was reported.
Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of STAR OF DESIRE, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to the horses on his inside viz. NECTAR CROWN (K.P.G. Appu) and SPARKLING CAT (Anjar Alam) before passing the red marker post.
It was reported after the race that SPARK OF HARMONY (P. Mani) pulled up lame on right fore due to sprained pastern. Trainer Mr. Pradeep Annaiah was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
An enquiry is being held into the running and riding of CORLEONE trained by Mr. J.S. Pillay (deputized by Trainer Mr. F. Sirajuddin) and ridden by Jockey Ashok Kumar.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from dk b g STAR OF DESIRE.
5th Race: 146. The F.K. Irani Memorial Trophy (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 80 and above (12 Runners).
Jockey A.R. Pradeep, the rider of SIX GUN SMITH, was fined Rs.2,000/- for the improper use of the whip on his mount whereby he could not exercise sufficient control over his mount and allowed it to drift in passing the 150 Metres.
6th Race: 147. The Kollur Plate - (About) 1600 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85 (8 Runners)
Jockey M. Kumar, the rider of AFRICAN QUEEN, was reprimanded for shifting out and inconveniencing NATIVE TALENT (S. John) soon after jumping out of the starting gates.
An enquiry is being held into the running and riding of SUNSPIRIT trained by Mr. Irfan Ghatala and ridden by Jockey P.S. Chouhan.
Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g NATIVE TALENT.
7th Race: 148. The B.C. Prabhakar Memorial Cup - Div.I - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old & over (9 Runners)
A MOVE TO REMEMBER (P. Mani) was examined at the starting gates by the Club's Veterinary Officer and was found to be lame on right fore. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter's Orders. Trainer Mr. Warren Singh was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
8th Race: 149. The Sivaganga Plate - (About) 1400 Metres Horses rated 20 to 45 (9 Runners).
It was reported after the race that CHHOTA BHEEM (Md. Akbar) pulled up lame on left fore due to sprained knee. Trainer Mr. V. Narayana Gowda was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b f BERNICIA.

(A)
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey M.A. Gallagher, the rider of
INQUISITION to the Stewards for dangerous riding [Rule No.161(i) of the BTC
Rules of Racing] in that he allowed his mount to travel dangerously towards
SIMPLY BEST (S. John) on his inside between the 1100 Metres to 1000 Metres
causing severe interference to SIMPLY BEST (S. John) in the above race. The
Stewards held an enquiry on Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Jockeys
M.A. Gallagher, M. Ravi and S. John. After deliberation, they decided to suspend
the Jockey's Licence granted toJockey M.A. Gallagher from 29-1-2012 to
11-02-2012 (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding [Rule No.161(i) of the BTC
Rules of Racing] on his mount INQUISITION in the above Race (permitted to ride
work).
(B)
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey M. Ravi, the rider of STATELY DANCE to
the Stewards for dangerous riding [Rule No.161(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing] in
that he allowed his mount to travel dangerously towards SIMPLY BEST (S. John) on
his outside between the 1100 Metres to 1000 Metres causing severe interference
to SIMPLY BEST (S. John) in the above race. The Stewards held an enquiry on
Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Jockeys M. Ravi, M.A. Gallagher and S.
John. After deliberation, they decided to suspend the Jockey's Licence granted
to Jockey M. Ravi from 29-1-2012 to 22-02-2012 (both days inclusive) for
dangerous riding [Rule No.161(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing] on his mount
STATELY DANCE in the above Race (permitted to ride work).

SIXTEENTH DAY, FRIDAY, 13TH JANUARY, 2012

123. The Ranganathittu Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 20 to
45
The Stewards ordered an enquiry into the running and riding of dkb f BESSIE trained by Mr. S. Dominic and ridden by Jockey P.S. Chouhan in the above race. They held an enquiry on Thursday, 19th January 2012. They considered the following:
(a) that Jockey P.S. Chouhan reported soon after the race that the horse was hanging in badly in the last 200 Metres and that he had considerable difficulty in keeping it on an even course and ride it out;
(b) that the horse was kept under veterinary observation;
(c) that after the last race, the Club's Veterinary Officer reported that on
examination of dkb f BESSIE after the last race it was found to be trotting lame
on right fore;
(d) that the Chief Veterinary Officer of the Club had submitted a report dated 16-1-2012 reading as follows:
"I write to inform that dkb f BESSIE 4 yrs old, under the care of
Trainer Mr. S. Dominic who ran in "THE RANGANATHITTU PLATE-DIV II"
(Race No.123) on 13th Jan. 2012 was examined after the last race at 5.40 p.m.
and was found to be trotting lame on her right fore, further a radiograph on
14th Jan 2012, revealed a chip fracture of the distal radius with the fracture
fragment in the joint cavity and fragment is not detached completely".
With the above information available, the Stewards examined Trainer Mr. S. Dominic and Jockey P.S. Chouhan. After deliberations, the Stewards decided to (a) note the explanations tendered by trainer Mr. S. Dominic; and (b) while noting the explanation of Jockey P.S. Chouhan, cautioned him to be more judicious in selection of riders in races.
The Stewards further directed the Stipendiary Stewards to:
(a) inform trainer Mr. S. Dominic to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with his charge dkb f BESSIE to run in races; and
(b) fine Jockey P.S. Chouhan Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount in the above race (1st infringement).

125. The Ghataprabha Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400 Metres Horses rated 00
to 25
(a)
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey S. Mallikarjun, the rider of PERFECT ATTITUDE for unsatisfactory riding on his mount [Rule No.161(ii) of the BTC Rules of Racing] in the above race. The Stewards held an enquiry on Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar and Jockey S. Mallikarjun. After deliberations, they decided to (a) note the explanations tendered by trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar; and (b) give Jockey S. Mallikarjun the benefit of doubt at this instance and severely caution him as to his future riding in races.

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey H.G. Rathod, the rider of SEASON
OF LOVE, to the Stewards for unsatisfactory riding [Rule No.161(ii) of the BTC
Rules of Racing] on his mount in the above race. The Stewards held an enquiry on
Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar and Jockey H.G.
Rathod. After deliberations, they decided to (a) note the explanations tendered
by trainer Mr. Sharat Kumar; and (b) suspend the Jockey's Licence granted to
Jockey H.G. Rathod from 29-1-2012 to 11-2-2012 (both days inclusive) for
unsatisfactory riding [Rule No.161(ii) of the BTC Rules of Racing] on his mount
SEASON OF LOVE in the above Race (permitted to ride work).

The Stipendiary Stewards reported Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna to the Stewards for the inconsistent pattern of running and reversal of form of his charge dk b f SABALA the winner of the above Race, as compared to its previous run in Race No.98 of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2011-12, i.e., The Subash Nagar Plate - Div.II - (About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 00 to 25, run on Friday, 30th December, 2011, when ridden by Jockey K.P.G. Appu, it ran unplaced. The Stewards held an enquiry on Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna. After deliberations, they decided to fine Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna a sum of Rs.10,000/- for the inconsistent pattern of running and reversal of form of his charge, dkb g SABALA the winner of the above Race, as compared to its previous run in Race No.98 of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2011-12, i.e., The Subash Nagar Plate - Div.II - (About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 00 to 25, run on Friday, 30th December, 2011, when ridden by Jockey K.P.G. Appu, it ran unplaced.

Dominic sum of Rs.10,000/- for the inconsistent pattern of running and reversal of form of his charge ch f SHADES OF SCARLET the winner of the above Race, as compared to its previous run in Race No.100 of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2011-12, i.e., The Subash Nagar Plate - Div.I - (About) 1200 Metres, for horses rated 00 to 25, run on Friday, 30th December, 2011, when ridden by Jockey M. enquiry on Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Trainer Mr. J.S. Pillay and
Jockey M. Prabhakaran. After deliberations, they decided to (a) note the
explanations tendered by trainer Mr. J.S. Pillay; and (b) give Jockey M.
Prabhakaran the benefit of doubt at this instance and severely caution him as to
his future riding in races.

129. The Kanchanganga Plate - Div.II - (About) 1400 Metres Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old & over
The Stipendiary Stewards reported Jockey B. Harish, the rider of DANCE TO
THE TUNE for careless riding [Rule No.161(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing] in that
he caused interference to the horses on his outside viz. CASH IS KING (M. Mark),
MAN UNITED (N. Harsha) and OCEANIC WIND (G. Adarsh) on the outside soon after
jumping out of the starting gates in the above race. The Stewards held an
enquiry on Thursday, 19th January 2012 and examined Trainer Mr. V. Lokanath and
Jockey B. Harish. After deliberations, they decided to (a) note the explanations
tendered by trainer Mr. V. Lokanath; and (b) give Jockey B. Harish the benefit
of a grave doubt and severely caution him to be more careful in future.

Wrong Track Number
I. The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Limited, at their meeting held on Thursday, 19th January 2012, considered the following:
(a) The appeal dated 8th January 2012 filed by Trainer Mr. S. Santosh Rao
against the decision of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., in suspending
his Trainer's Licence from 14-1-2012 to 1-3-2012 for violating the BTC Racing
Calendar Notification under the heading "Carrying of Identification Saddle
Cloth with Numbers on Horses working on the Tracks or any part of the premises
of the Race Course" in respect of his charge b g SAMRAT on 3rd January 2012
during the morning track work at the Mysore Race Course training track.
(b) The Minutes of the Meeting of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., dated 4th January 2012 in this regard.
II. The Stewards examined trainer Mr. S. Santosh Rao, the trainer of the horse. After deliberations, the Stewards decided to:
a) Reject the Appeal, filed by Trainer Mr. S. Santosh Rao;
b) Consequently modify the period of punishment in that his Trainer's licence
shall stand suspended from 29-1-2012 to 31-3-2012 (both days inclusive) for
violation of BTC Calendar Notification under the heading Carrying of
Identification Saddle Cloth with Numbers on Horses working on the Tracks or any
part of the premises of the Race Course" in respect of his charge b g
SAMRAT on 3rd January 2012; and
c) forfeit the appeal fee paid by him towards the appeal.
