The Shivanasamudra Cup - Div.II - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 40 to 65, 5 years old & over (9 Runners) Trainer Mr. J. Babu Rao was fined Rs.10,000/- by the Stewards for contravention of General Condition 5 of the Prospectus of Bangalore Winter Meeting 2012-13 in accepting his charge SPARKLING IMAGE to run in the above race and also in the 7th race on 18th January 2013. Subsequently the horse was withdrawn from the above race. Jockey Valdir De Sousa, the rider of SUNNY SEVEN, was fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting out and causing interference to RIGHT ON TIME (M. Noornabi) on his outside passing the 400 Metres. Jockey M. Noornabi, the rider of RIGHT ON TIME, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and taking out MAGNOMICAL (D Patel) which in turn passed it on to HILLSTONE (Ahsan Qureshi) on his outside approaching the 200 Metres. Jockey D. Patel, the rider of MAGNOMICAL, was fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting out and taking out HILLSTONE (Ahsan Qureshi) on his outside rounding the final bend. Jockey D. Patel, the rider of MAGNOMICAL, was reprimanded for dropping hands before passing the winning post. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner dkb g SUNNY SEVEN. 2nd Race: 150. The Vedavati Plate - (About) 2000 Metres Horses rated 20 to 45 (9 Runners). Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g GLYCYS BAY. 3rd Race: 151. The Jamuna Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25, 5 years old and over (11 Runners) Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. B. Puttanna to withdraw SABALA on veterinary grounds as it was found to be trotting lame on left hind due to inflammed hock. He was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey Md Shoaib, the rider of OUR LOVE, reported that he could not get a clear run passing the 150 Metres due to a closely packed field. It was reported after the race that SAMOVAR (R. Vaideeshwaran) pulled up lame on left hind. Trainer Mr. J.S. Pillay was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. Jockey G.Y. Rajesh Babu, the rider of INDIAN, was fined Rs.3,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (2nd infringement). An enquiry is being held into the written complaint given by Trainer Mr. Warren Singh against Jockey S John into the riding of his charge BRIGADE'S PARADISE by the rider in the above race. Surprise Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b g INDIAN. 4th Race: 152. The Kollur Plate - (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 60 to 85, 5 years old and over (9 Runners) An enquiry is being held into the inconsistent pattern of running of GUN SALUTE (Saddam Hussain) the winner of the above race as compared to its previous run in Race No.104 of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2012-13 held on Saturday, 22nd December, 2012 when ridden by Jockey A R Pradeep it ran unplaced. Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner b h GUN SALUTE. 5th Race : 138. The Karnataka Racehorse Owners' Association Trophy - (About) 1200 Metres. 3 year old Indian Horses (foaled in 2009) based in Karnataka (Terms) (8 Runners). ARABIAN WARRIOR (P Trevor) was examined at the starting gates by the Club's Veterinary Officer and was found to have nasal septum bleeding injury in left nostril. Under the circumstances it was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under starter's orders. Trainer Mr. J S Dhariwal was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again. At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, the Stewards ordered and held an enquiry into the running of the race and also considered the objection lodged by Jockey P S Chouhan, the rider of SOLITAIRE ROYALE placed 3rd by the Judge against Jockey's B Sreekanth the rider of MURIOI placed 1st and Jockey S John the rider of DUMA, placed 2nd for "Near the 300 Metres I was heading for the clear gap in front when the winner came in violently and bumped DUMA who in turn pushed the horse on the outside thereby my horse was unbalanced and lost a certain race". Jockey P.S. Chouhan during hearing of the objection clarified that his nature of objection before the Stewards and the error crept in the written objection. 82. The Bangarpet Plate - (About) 1200 Metres. Horses rated 00 to 25 (A) The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 13th January 2013 considered the Appeal dated 22-12-2012 filed by Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj against the decision of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., in suspending his Trainer's Licence from 1-1-2013 to 31-3-2013 for contravention of Rule No.167(b) (failure of duties as a Trainer) Rule No.114(b)(i) (negligence in the performance of duties as a licensed professional and Rule No.202(vi) (tendering false and misleading evidence during the enquiries) in connection with the running of his charge BLUES LEGEND in the above race. The Board noted that the operation of the punishment imposed on Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj had been stayed till the appeal was heard and finally disposed of by it. The Board considered the following: a) The Minutes of the Meeting of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. of 21st December 2012. b) The written grounds of appeal dated 9-1-2013 filed by Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj. The Board examined Mr. Ashok Raghavan, Spokesman for Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj and the Trainer himself. After considering the above and after due deliberations, the Board decided to: (a) Modify the punishment imposed on Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj in that his Trainer's Licence will stand suspended from 15-1-2013 to 14-2-2013 and he be fined a sum of Rs.10,000/- for contravention of Rule No.114(b)(i) of the BTC Rules of Racing (Negligence in the performance of his duties as a licensed professional); (b) Forfeit the appeal fee paid by Trainer Mr. B. Prithviraj. (B) The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 13th January 2013 considered the Appeal dated 23-12-2012 filed by Jockey P. Ramesh against the decision of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., in suspending his Jockey's Licence from 1-1-2013 to 31-3-2013 not to permit him to ride work during the period of suspension of his licence for not permitting his mount BLUES LEGEND to run on its merit in the above race. The Board noted that the operation of the punishment imposed on Jockey P. Ramesh had been stayed till the appeal was heard and finally disposed of by it. The Board considered the following: (a) The Minutes of the Meeting of the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. of 21st December 2012. (b) The written grounds of appeal dated 9-1-2013 filed by Jockey P. Ramesh. The Board examined Mr. Ashok Raghavan, Spokesman for Jockey P. Ramesh and the Jockey himself. After considering the above and after due deliberations, the Board decided to: (a) Allow the appeal filed by Jockey P. (A) The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. at their Meeting held on Friday, 11th January 2013 considered the appeal dated 22nd December 2012 filed by Trainer Mr. G.T. Surender against the decision of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., in suspending his Trainer's licence from 14-1-2013 to 26-2-2013 (both days inclusive) and further referring him to the Stewards of B.T.C. for further action for contravention of Rule No.167(b) (failure of duties as a Trainer) (Rule No.114(b)(i) (Negligence and neglect in the conduct of performance of duties as a Licensed professional and Rule No.202(vi) & (vii) (tendering false and misleading evidence during enquries) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in connection with running of his charge INDIAN ROYALTY in the above race and the matters arising there from. The Stewards considered the following: (i) The Minutes of the Meeting of Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., of 4-12-2012, 12-12-2012 and 19-12-2012; (ii) The written grounds of appeal dated 10-1-2013 submitted by Trainer Mr. G.T. Surender. They examined Mr. G.T. Surender. After considering the above and the evidence presented before them by the trainer concerned during the hearing of appeal and after deliberations, the Stewards decided to: (a) reject the appeal filed by Mr. G.T. Surender; (b) forfeit the deposit paid by him towards the appeal fee; (B) 1. The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. at their Meeting held on Friday, 11th January 2013 considered the referral made by the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., vide Minutes of the Meeting of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., dated 4-12-2012, 12-12-2012 and 19-12-2012 referring Trainer Mr. G.T. Surender for further action for contravention of Rule No.167(b) (failure of duties as a Trainer) (Rule No.114(b)(i) (Negligence and neglect in the conduct of performance of duties as a Licensed professional and Rule No.202(vi) & (vii) (tendering false and misleading evidence during enquiries) of the BTC Rules of Racing) in connection with running of his charge INDIAN ROYALTY in the above race and the matters arising there from They examined Mr. G.T. Surender. After considering the above and the evidence presented before them by the trainer concerned during the hearing and after deliberations, the Stewards decided to (a) declare Trainer Mr. G.T. Surender as a disqualified person under BTC Rules of Racing with effect from 1-2-2013 to 31-7-2013 (both days inclusive) for contravention of Rule No.167(b) (failure of duties as a Trainer) (Rule No.114(b)(i) (Negligence and neglect in the conduct and performance of duties as a Licensed professional and Rule No.202(vi) & (vii) (tendering false and misleading evidence during enquiries) of the BTC Rules of Racing in connection with running of his charge INDIAN ROYALTY in the above race and the matters arising there from. 2. The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. at their Meeting held on Friday, 11th January 2013 considered the Minutes of the Meeting of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., dated 4-12-2012, 12-12-2012 and 19-12-2012 referring Jockey C. Harish whose Jockey's Licence was suspended by Mysore Race Club Ltd., from 6-1-2013 to 26-2-2013 and who was referred to the Stewards of BTC for further action for not permitting his mount INDIAN ROYALTY to run on its merit in the above race. They examined Jockey C. Harish and Mr. G.T. Surender, the Trainer of the horse. After considering the above, viewing the CCTV replay of the race, the evidence presented before them by Jockey C. Harish and Trainer Mr. G.T. Surender during the hearing and after deliberations, the Stewards decided to declare Jockey C. Harish a disqualified person under BTC Rules of Racing with effect from 1-2-2013 to 31-7-2013 for not permitting his mount INDIAN ROYALTY to run on its merit in the above race thereby contravening Rule No.159(a) & (b) of the BTC Rules of Racing.
