BANGALORE WINTER MEETING 2014-15
SIXTH DAY, SATURDAY, 29TH NOVEMBER, 2014
47. The Sohna Stud Plate – (About) 1400 Metres. Horses rated 60 and above
After due enquiry into the running and riding of REAL STEEL (Y. S. Srinath)
it was concluded that trainer Mr. Darius Byramji stated he had instructed Jockey
Y.S. Srinath to try to obtain cover in the race, then come to the outside, but
not to show the gelding day light too early. His instructions were confirmed by
Jockey Y.S. Srinath and Jockey Y.S. Srinath further added that after jumping out
REAL STEEL was keen but to ride as instructed he restrained the gelding seeking
some cover. He said as the race panned out he was plated back further than he
had wished. Coming to the 500 Metres he had a horse in front and was considering
waiting for a run or to be off to the outside as instructed which he did and
REAL STEEL ran home well under his hard riding but was tired over the final 200
Metres. Their explanations were noted.
