Trainer Mr. S. Narredu was questioned regarding the relatively improved performance of his charge AUSTRALIS (P. Trevor).

The trainer stated that:

(a) His charge was performing poorly over 1200 Metres and was slowly away and sluggish in its previous starts at Mysore;

(b) As such he had applied a pair of blinkers on his charge for the first time;

(c) His charge had performed very well in the Mock Race over a distance of 1600 Metres with the said equipment;

(d)  He had fancied his horse to win as it was running in a relatively poor company.

His explanations were noted for future reference.

KHAYYAM (PrashantP.Dhebe) planted and did not take any practical part in the race. Trainer was informed in at least two Mock Races and if it continued to behave in a similar manner during the race it would be banned to race under BTC Rules of Racing.

PSYCHIC WARRIOR (Y. S. Srinath) was extremely fractious, reared up whereby its right hind got stuck in the gates for a considerable period of time. On immediate examination by the Club''s Veterinary Officer it was found to have sustained clipped bleeding injury on upper forth cannon. Under the circumstances, it was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under Starter's order. Trainer was informed to produce a Fitness Certificate.
