TWELFTH DAY, WEDNESDAY, 23RD JANUARY, 2008.

 

RACING INCIDENTS                                             GOING: GOOD

(Race No.84 to 91)                                          Penetrometer reading: 2.8 Cms.

(False Rails: False Rails from 1600 Metres to the Winning Post width (about) 5.5 Metres).

 

1st Race:                     84. The Mangalore Plate (About) 1600 Metres

12 Runners                 Horses rated 30 and below.

 

As Jockey Faraz Waheed, the declared rider of WACOW, could not do the declared weight, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. M A Tharun Thimmaiah to substitute Jockey Vinod Shinde to ride WACOW in place of Jockey Faraz Waheed.

 

Jockey S Shiva Kumar the rider of DRAMATIC HEIGHTS was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course soon after the start.

 

URBAN LEGEND (C Krishnan) sustained a clip injury on right hind canon.

 

2nd Race:                    85. The Ooty Plate – Div. II (About) 1400 Metres

12 Runners                 Horses rated 20 to 50.

 

As Jockey Faraz Waheed, the declared rider of BUDDY, could not do the declared weight, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. T Natraj to substitute Jockey J S Gowli to ride BUDDY in place of Jockey Faraz Waheed.

 

CLASSY DON (Vinod Shinde) could not get a clear run during the final stages of the race due to a closely packed field.

 

Jockey D Gnaneshwar the rider of PROSPECTOR’S DREAM was fined Rs.5,000/- for not observing the photo finish drill when his mount was involved in a very close finish for the first place and for unsaddling the horse in the centre of the Paddock without coming to the unsaddling enclosure and straightaway proceeding to the Weighing Room.  He was further informed that a repetition would be viewed very seriously. 

 

Jockey D Gnaneshwar the rider of PROSPECTOR’S DREAM was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (first infringement).

 

Jockey C Krishnan the rider of ONE GOOD THING was fined Rs.1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race (first infringement).

 

On an examination after the race, the Veterinary Officer of the Club reported that the right fore shoe of SHANTALA (S Mubarak) had apparently splayed during the race.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner, gr.g. BUDDY.

 

3rd Race:                     86. The Hampi Plate – Div. II (About) 1200

9 Runners                   Metres. Horses rated 40 to 70, 6 years old and over.

 

As suitable substitute riders could not be obtained for AL JAZEERA (J S Gowli), AVACADO (C Harish) and ADVOCATE GENERAL (Khurshad Alam), permission was granted to the respective Trainers to withdraw the above horses from the race.

Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa to substitute Jockey G Vijay to ride VIVID COLOURS in place of Jockey S R Santosh Kumar, the declared rider, who could not do the declared weight.

 

Jockey M D Praveen the rider of SHOW N TELL was reprimanded for dropping his hands before passing the winning post.

 

MIAMI GOLD (Vinod Shinde) drifted ‘out’ under pressure during the final stages of the race.

 

4th Race:                     87. The Ooty Plate – Div. I (About) 1400 Metres.

12 Runners                 Horses rated 20 to 50.

 

Jockey Vinod Shinde the rider of SUPER CHIEFTAN reported that his mount was hanging ‘out’ during the race.  Trainer Mr. P C Tejaswi was informed to get it checked by his Veterinarian and take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner, b.f. ON CALL.

 

5th Race:                     88. The Rajakumari Leelavathi Devi Memorial Cup (About)

7 Runners                   1200 Metres. Indian Horses 3 years old only.

 

BOLD PROMISE (D Gnaneshwar) was observed to be lame on right fore before the start of the race.  Hence, it was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary ground before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Mr. Z Darashah was informed to produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

BLAZING SUN (Khurshad Alam) bolted from the Starting Gates and ran right round the course rider-less.  Under the circumstances, it was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.

 

Jockey C Krishnan the rider of SAN SIRO was fined Rs.2,000/- for coming ‘in’ and causing interference to DANCER’S WAVE (G Vijay), which, in turn, passed it onto STERLING SPEED (K P G Appu), along the rails, approaching the 1000 Metres. 

 

Jockey C Krishnan the rider of SAN SIRO was fined Rs.2,000/- for not maintaining a straight course during the final stages of the race.

 

Jockey S A De Sousa the rider of EONA, placed Second by the Judge, objected against Jockey C Krishnan the rider of SAN SIRO, placed First, for “in the last 200 Metres, Jockey C Krishnan came in sharply whereby I received a check and in the last 100 Metres, he bumped me, which cost me a certain race”. The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and examined the Jockeys concerned.  After deliberations, they decided to overrule the objection. 

 

6th Race:                     89. The Bababudan Giri Plate (About) 1400 Metres.

11 Runners                 Horses rated 60 and above.

 

Permission was granted to Trainer Mr. G T Surender to withdraw FEEL MY HEART (S Mubarak) as no suitable substitute rider could be found.

 

As Jockey K Chethana the declared rider of MR BUREAUCRAT could not do the declared lowest weight, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. Vishal Yadav to substitute Jockey J S Gowli to ride MR BUREAUCRAT in place of Jockey K Chethana.

 

Trainer Mr. T Natraj was fined Rs.500/- for failing to produce the declared colours at the scales in respect of his charge, NICCOLETTO (Mohammed Shoaib). Subsequently, All Black emergency colours were permitted to be used.

Jockey Faraz Waheed the rider of JERICHO was fined Rs.1,000/- for not making sufficient efforts to improve his position till entering the straight.

 

Jockey M D Praveen the rider of SPARK OF GLORY was fined Rs.1,000/- for not sufficiently persevering with his mount during the race.

 

NICCOLETTO (Mohammed Shoaib) sustained a cut injury on right hind hock.

 

On an examination after the race, the Veterinary Officer of the Club reported that the left hind shoe of MYSTIC HEIGHTS (M Madhu Babu) had apparently splayed during the race.

 

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner, dk b h SANDOKAN.

 

7th Race:                     90. The Hampi Plate – Div. I (About) 1200 Metres.

11 Runners                 Horses rated 40 to 70, 6 years old and over. 

 

As Jockey B Mahesh the declared rider of ARTISTIC WAY could not arrive to fulfill his riding engagement, permission was granted to Trainer Mr. M Pratap Kamath to substitute Jockey A Ashok Kumar to ride ARTISTIC WAY in place of Jockey B Mahesh.

 

Jockey D Gnaneshwar the rider of BLUE SPIRIT was reprimanded for coming ‘in’ and tightening DEMANDING (S Shiva Kumar) on his inside, which, in turn, passed it onto FASTER THAN LIGHT (Mohammed Shoaib) along the rails, approaching the 1000 Metres.

 

On an examination after the race, it was reported by the Veterinary Officer of the Club that the left fore shoe of AMBIENS (S Mubarak) and MOUNT ROYALE (S A De Sousa) had apparently splayed during the race.

 

MISSEDENT (G Vijay) sustained a clip injury on right hind outer bulb of the heel.

 

8th Race:                     91. The Cochin Plate (About) 1600 Metres. 

12 Runners                 Horses rated 40 to 70.

 

On an examination after the race by the Club’s Veterinary Officer, CARTOUCHE (S Shiva Kumar) was observed to have sharp molars.  Trainer Mr. Mahmood Khan was informed to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with it again.
